STEERING, SUSPENSION, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
To: I have a 2013 ram 1500 4x4 my miles 48,000 .Generally safety defect the drive shaft column, lower steering shaft column intermediate. Like all Bushings control arms, ball joint and lower ,upper, bar links , etc.The defects components fall apart easy to the bolts, nuts, rubber bushing. Its a problem for poses a very risk to all drivers on road. Definitely it should bring ATTENTION to all 2013 ram 1500 4x4 an all ram Chrysler can recall so it can repair and very safe for all drivers , families whenever in all vehicles. Anyway I will park my ram in the driveway, when if it recalls the vehicle and drive for it safe !!!!!! Thank You From A VERY SAFE DRIVER!!!!!

I cannot properly refuel my tank. It takes me 25 minutes to fill 5 gallons of gas. The pump keeps shutting off like it thinks my car is full. All gas station pump are doing the same thing. Also my Navi goes off course. Sirius XM says my location is one place according to their system but I am 200 miles away. They say it shows it is working on their end but there is clearly an electrical or navigation glitch with my car.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ENGINE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
While traveling 15 mph across railroad tracks, the throttle stopped responding to the gas pedal and stopped accelerating. The vehicle made it three feet past outer track and began to roll backward, I applied emergency brake and put gear in park but dial would not move. I attempted restart 3 times without success; 4th time worked and was able to move forward to safe position.

On two separate occasions while slowing to make a turn or to come to a stop, the truck will shut off the engine, once it slows to below 5mph it will force itself into park and apply the emergency brake while still rolling. This is very unsafe when in traffic, and could cause a wreck. It has been at the dealership for two weeks and there is still no solution, and they have not been able to reproduce it yet. Both times there was no warning it was going to happen.

All 4 tires have cracks at or near the bead and getting worse. 22655 miles on the tires that were factory installed at truck purchase. P27560R20. Rotated every 8000 miles and pressure is checked weekly to maintain inflation.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V757000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to the recall repair was unavailable. The contact took the vehicle to HW Hunter RAM of the West (43226 10th St W, Lancaster, CA 93534: (661) 948-8411) & AutoNation Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Valencia (23820 Creekside Rd, Valencia, CA 91355: (661) 379-7709) and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

I was driving 50 mph down the road, when I started to accelerate (pass) around another vehicle when it just died. Got the check engine light along with oil pressure low warning. Coasted to a stop a ways down the road trying to get off on the side of the road. My 2016 Ram 1500 would not start after that. I put my Bosch code reader on the truck and it flashed P0366 which called out for the Crank Shaft sensor. Had truck towed to local dealer. This looks like it falls under the same recall as W58. In the process of getting the dealership to take responsibility of the situation and file a claim with their corporate office, because my particular VIN doesn't match their records of having this issue.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, SERVICE BRAKES
Today 11/19 around 12:50pm Pacific Time I was picking up my kids from school and as I was going about 20mph and my truck braked out of nowhere then shut off. Nothing was with 50ft in front and luckily no one was behind me. This isn't the first time this has happened the first time was on the freeway as I was going 75mph and fortunate no on hit me then. This is a safety issues for owners and other drivers. Unfortunately my truck still has the issue of staying on at times which again is a safety issue and fire hazard. We have video on our security cameras that caught the dashboard blinking and no it's not any security light. My truck has been to the dealer twice already for these issues for about a month. The dealer couldn't figure out what was wrong they don't even know. A little over month ago Ram Customer care case manager (2nd one I've dealt with) called and she asked me if the dealer called me and I told her no one has called me but I have the same issues and some. She said she'd call the dealer for an appointment and after that nothing till last Wednesday 11/10 around 6pm Pacific Time I got a call from another case manager I missed that call as I was outside trying to get the truck to turn off and since then I have been returning her calls and nothing. I guess we'll just have to wait for something serious to happen before these issues become important to [XXX]. This truck is our family vehicle so why aren't these SAFETY ISSUES taken more SERIOUS? No warning lights came on dashboards before braking out of nowhere. Guess we'll just have to see what happens...We LOVE our RAM but [XXX] the issues it has. STEERING
The Ram has electric steering. Mine will turn off and on intermittently. When in a curve, it can cause you to have light pressure to high pressure to low pressure on the wheel. Have had two incidences where I could have hit others or went off the road in a curve.

My ecoDiesel engine failed after 134k miles. Does not seem like an issue but the failure rate of this engine is very high - from Boards, from Dealers, emails by FCA. Since they fail at a high rate, it puts lot of broken vehicles on the road and puts the people in the vehicle at more risk for injury. It is a safety issue. They changed oil to fix major bearing failures as evidenced in these emails and Valvoline's letter rebukes it. Their emissions scandal forced them to make the engine do something the engine can not handle. These are time bombs.

Turned left into a parking lot, approximately 10-15 mph, and the engine unexpectedly shuts off. Electric parking brake engaged and all warning dash lights came on. If the person behind me was not paying attention they would have collided with me. Was able to start the truck and drive into the parking lot. After searching forums online, this seems to be a common problem with no solution or acknowledgement from the manufacturer.

AIR BAGS
ALL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING MAJOR COLLISION! FAULTY AIRBAGS I was driving in the dark on Tuesday evening 11-16-2021 in the 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 truck. At around 6:00pm I was going through a right hand corner in a mountain area that had free range cattle. Over the mountains ⛰ heading back home 🏡 the day turned to night. Coming around a right sweeping🧹corner going around 45-48 mph out of nowhere the unthinkable happened…. A familiar face suddenly appeared in the dark. A cow, rather a huge bull 🐮 🐄 in the middle of the highway! 🛣 It all happened so fast… Head on collision 💥 My reaction was an evasive maneuver steering wheel crank left. If I had not reacted like stated above, crash should have killed me. This move I believe is what saved my life because it offset the contact more to the passenger side. He hit head on yes but now glanced off to my right which kept the rear of the truck from coming around. His massive weight saved me from rolling… The damage to front and passenger side is major The air bags should have deployed . They did not. My insurance confirmed in claim that the air bags did not deploy I filed with them at the time of the accident. The Deputy Sheriff inspected the vehicle and also noted in the police report that the airbags did not deploy. There were no warning lights that indicated any problems at all.

Driving around 25 MPH and slowed to make a left turn into a parking lot. At about 10 MPH the engine shut off. As I came to a stop the parking brake was automatically engaged. I had to put the truck in park, restart the engine and remove the parking brake to drive off. Thank god I wasn't stuck in the middle of the road. As I do my research this same issue has been reported by many etourque ram owners.

I took my truck into the shop for an oil change and discovered that the front fuel tank strap bracketed corroded and broke. Thank goodness I took my truck into the shop where the mechanic discovered my tank hanging. This caused me to look up recalls and found this below. I am in Hawaii. How can I get this fixed. March 8, 2018 NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V160000 Front Fuel Tank Strap Bracket may Corrode If the fuel tank were to drop and contact the ground, a fuel leak may result. Additionally, in the event of a crash, the fuel tank may not remain secured to the vehicle, possibly causing a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence in an ignition source, can increase the risk of a fire. NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V160000 Manufacturer Chrysler (FCA US LLC) Components FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE Potential Number of Units Affected 218,617 Summary Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2009-2012 Dodge Ram 1500 trucks currently, or ever registered, in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH, the power steering light suddenly illuminated and the message "Service Power Steering" was displayed. The contact was unable to turn the steering wheel in either direction. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer for service. No further information was available. The manufacturer was not yet notified. The failure mileage was 45,000.

I have received 2 service messages on the vehicle. The first says, "Service Electronic Braking System" and the second says, "Service Trailer Brake". Apparently, this is an ongoing and known issue to FCA with 2014-2018 trucks and they have refused to issue a recall. This issue is occurring in many trucks with very low miles. My truck has 28,000 miles and is only 4 days out of warranty, yet now I as the consumer am expected to pay for replacement of ABS components that are breaking extremely prematurely. This should be a recall, due to the long term and widespread nature of the known issue.

The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel made abnormal noises while turning and was stiff. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with electric power steering failure. The steering rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19E077000 (Equipment) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
