The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 50 MPH, the service power steering warning light illuminated. The contact stated that his wife pulled over to the side of the road, stopped, and restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that the steering wheel seized twice after restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was restarted again, and the warning light was still illuminated. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 135,000.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OVERPASS MY STEERING WHEEL "LOCKED UP" ON ME AND I COULD NOT SAFELY STEER MY VEHICLE. i SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND WHEN I MOVED OFF AGAIN IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS WAS VERY FRIGHTENING AS I COULD HAVE EASILY DRIVEN OFF THE OVERPASS AS THE ROAD TURNED AND I HAD NO OTHER OPTION BUT TO PUT ON MY FLASHERS AND STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY PUTTING MYSELF AND MY OCCUPANTS AND ANY OTHER DRIVERS IN THE AREA AT SERIOUS RISK. ITS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS PROBLEM IS UNDER INVESTIGATION PRESENTLY AND THAT SOME RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED HOWEVER THE WEBSITE RECALL LOOKUP IS NOT SHOWING UP FOR MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENLTY AT THE DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER 1 MONTH WHERE THE PROBLEM WAS CONFIRMED TO BE A FAULTY POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY/RACK AND PINION. NO WARNING SIGNS EXISTED UNTIL AFTER THE STEERING WHEEL "LOCKED UP". AFTER WHICH THE STEERING DASH LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE IS IMMOBILE AND STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP.

We may have started a claim already reference number 1592940, this is the first I've been able to write out the details. On [XXX] we were driving through South Dakota on the freeway; which was cold but dry and clear with no hazards and within a mile everything happened or about 45-60 seconds First, it was like the gas wasn't getting through because RPMS went from normal to almost 5000. From there, my husband started losing driving power, so he started trying to pull over. Within seconds it seemed to lose engine power as were were pulling over to the shoulder. As we were pulling over the truck gave "loss oil pressure" and then died luckily as we just made it to the shoulder. If my husband had hesitated longer we would have been stalled on the freeway not able to start the truck again. The truck was towed to a local Ford dealership. The Mechanic said it may be a Ram recall but dropped it there and did not continue researching. We called the nearby Ram dealership where the mechanic said over the phone with out actually seeing the truck that is was not a recall. No one else has yet inspected the truck. I first need to know where I'm allowed to go to find an unbiased diagnoses and fair assessment. This was and is the only issue we have ever had with this truck. Maintenance was scheduled regularly, it was well taken care of and only had 110,000 miles on it. We have already had to pay for the towing to the dealership and also the towing from the dealership in South Dakota to home in Washington State to try and get this figured out. The defective part is an exhaust manifold, both on the left and right hand side. Yes, it is available for inspection anytime. I have the right side part off of the vehicle for inspection as I have had it replaced. I tried to get the Dodge ram company to replace the left side for free and after exhausting every possibility making several phone calls, they refuse to do anything. I have carbon monoxide fumes entering the cab of the vehicle, and there’s no way to stop it as when you use the defrost or the heater, it brings through fresh air and you cannot eliminate. that situation. Also, the carbon monoxide fumes enter into the atmosphere, polluting the air because it is escaping before going through the catalytic converter . It has been verified by Cooks ram dodge dealer and also Harford tire an independent shop, that the two parts are defective on both left and right hand side. I have this in writing. The independent dealer also said it would be 2 to 4 weeks to get the part in because so many are defective and there is a long waiting list. He also informed me that Ford has the same problem except but a lot worse. Our Maryland state police use the Ford SUVs. The situation is poisoning our police officers and the general public. It is poisoning you also as it goes into the atmosphere. It started out as a minor exhaust leak noise and progressed over time. There was only a fraction of a piece of metal that was not split in half.. The metal split almost all the way down. It is approximately 1/8 inch thick and is held on with 12 bolts. This part typically never breaks in any vehicles lifetime. My guess would be it is not a proper type of metal to withstand the heat, and when it goes from hot to cold that it eventually put stress on the metal and starts to crack it.

ON 12/31/2024 I was turning right onto a street and my vehicle shut off. There was no power steering or power brakes. The battery light came on and some warning about battery saver emitted. The vehicle would not restart so I had it towed to Larson Dodge in Puyallup, WA. I have a gas, 5.7 L E-torgue engine. Also, the left turn blinker does not always cancel itself and the vehicle was in the shop previously for this, but they could not replicate the issue. Both issues are a safety issue. The dealership stated they were unable to resolve the matter so they contacted their engineers. Its alleged that they are sending some type of module which will not be here until 1/28/25.

Rear backup camera freezes the display or displays blue screen while backing up. Open recall on the year of vehicle but not under this VIN. Vehicle has been doing this for a long time and seems just recently the recall was started. A possibly unrelated issue is happening where the uconnect does “ghost button pressing” cuts heat, turns on ac, changes clock, settings etc. very unsafe as youre forced to turn heat or ac back on while driving multiple times in a short session of driving

When I attempted to suddenly brake once I saw the car in front of me braking, my brakes locked and the truck slid into the vehicle in front of me. The failure of the ESC system did not allow the expected intervention that is relied upon to avoid a vehicle crash without prior warning. I was in the deceleration phase of braking quickly, but the brakes did not respond in a timely manner. I was not made aware of the recall of the ABS control module software until after the accident took place. If I would have been made aware of such a defect I would have taken the precautions and action to repair or remedy the failed system to avoid unnecessary risk to both myself and others. honestly the compressor failed for the air suspension and keeps failing many times for many people in different altitudes and humidity levels as you guys should already know by now. the system is supposed to be a sealed system that no air should be able to get into, right? so my question and things i really would like you guys to look into is why, if this true why do they need a dryer for the n2 gas based system they is not supposed to be able to get air in it? more so when n2 gas is supposed to expel moisture and being a dry gas. I bought this truck in Colorado and in the dry cold of Colorado I had no issues like this but the moment i had my first winter in a more humid environment and it dropped to 20 degrees Fahrenheit the system failed such as the fact that im in Texas now. being a sealed system no air is able to vent out unless triggered buy certain modes so my ride just leveled out to normal drive mode but will not engage the compressor properly. I'm currently in college though just starting for diesel engines even my instructor is stumped. this system to me doesn't make sense and its failing from what I gathered in more humid cold environments not so much dryer cold, and popping the fuses by trying to pull more power to dry the system that supposedly isn't getting moister in it. so this system is clearly flawed and doesn't make seance plus it also truly depends on how and where the company tested the product. in the end my suspension triggered the red code of immediate air suspension repair/replacement and no longer works properly this is almost a 500 dollar fix that many have to do every winter including me. some may have to pay more for those who cant do it themselves. please investigate the compression and dryer system in higher humidity and extreme cold based environment and if im right im right if im wrong im wrong. i just want answers and the problem fixed since this issue has been going since 2013 to now.

I just purchased a new truck on Friday and was told on car fax it had a open recall .On 1/20/25 around 0835 I arrived at service entrance and was not greeted or checked in after being told I would be charged a diagnosis fee for a very important safety recall related to ABS . I would like this incident investigated as it jeopardizes my and my family safety . Also told him the truck was under warranty and the wireless charging for phones was not working and got bring it back to where you bought it . I requested his supervisor and he walked away and acted like he was on the phone . This is my only local dodge dealer and now forced to goad hour south to get this fixed . I took a card because service manager never came out to address me as customer this dealership needs looked into .I think I was also discriminated at for being Caucasian as both service techs are Hispanic info email of service manager from card is Location of Dodge dealer . The person that wanted to charge me avoided me asking his name but had long curly hair and younger thug attitude guy . Also was told to leave after like anyone would be upset of a safety recall that are free and being told I would be charged. I’m requesting an investigation into this matter and or pursuing legal action . I know it’s a federal holiday and I have a 3 day weekend but hope this matter can be addressed soon as this is not right . Thank you . I noticed an oil leak under the truck a few weeks after getting the oil changed at the dealership. I took it back and had them investigate. They advised me I needed to replace the oil filter housing assembly, to the tune of $1,000. As I did research i found d this this is a widespread common problem and is known. Faulty design of a plastic part. For this to be such a common issue and poor design (that could cause catastrophic engone failure resulting in accidents or fires) and not to be recalled and or covered is insane. It's such a known issue that aftermarket parts makers have made a version that is all aluminum to prevent the issue. RAM should be paying for the repair, not me.

My power steering randomly cuts out, I get a service power steering message and then eventually the power steering comes back. I took it to a local dealer it did not fail during the time they had it. There were no codes. I bought an obd reader and when the power steering failed, no codes. There are no indicators or obvious scenarios that can replicate the symptoms. It’s totally random. It does seem to happen more in cooler weather.
