ENGINE
Due to the recall Z96/NHTSA 22V-767 my fuel pump failed in 2023, causing my check engine light to come on due to a fuel injector warning. The dealership replaced the fuel pump, but nothing else was replaced or checked. In April 2025, my check engine light came back on for a #4 Glow Plug issue. The truck at this point had 56k miles on it, and was out of warranty. I took it to a local mechanic, who found the glow plug had shrapnel on it, causing it to fail. He believes it is due to the high pressure fuel pump failure the previous year, releasing debris into the fuel system. This is a safety issue due to the loss of engine power, and if multiple cylinders are affected could cause the vehicle to go limp.

Traveling back from Tennessee I stopped for fuel when I started my truck to leave the warning light was on the dash for service power steering and I had no power steering I have checked the fuse but it does not appear to be bad I will take my truck to the shop tomorrow morning Monday 4/28/2025

POWER TRAIN
Have a whirring, whining noise and at my Feb 2025 service, was told it was the e-torque assembly bearing and it was loose. Part is on back order for months since this is a common issue and will cost over $1400 for part alone. Was told not covered under warranty but believe that the dealership is wrong BUT am reading it was recalled in the 2021 RAM 1500 but I am having same issue with my 2020 and I am reading I am not alone.

My 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 back up cam is not working. Just a blue screen. As of last night, my bed tailgate will not open. It is an electric tailgate. Pushing on the lid while trying to open does nothing, as suggested by Reddit. There is no power to the electric latch.

So I am driving on the freeway 70mph and I get a message on my dash that says service shifter then every single light on the dash came on and started to make a beeping noise. I pulled over on the side of the freeway and then all the lights dissappear except check engine. I continued to drive to next exit and this time all lights came on again and truck appeared to be shutting off and turning back on while driving, steering wheel got hard to move all while all lights turning on, on dash. I have taken to shop 3 times first time they told me it was battery so I purchased battery and diagnostic fee for 600. Still continued to have issues even after replacing battery. Then they tell me they don't know what's causing this issue and the truck hasn't been fixed. I'll let the truck sit a few days and check engine light is gone and it will drive normal until the issues pops up again. I just don't know what to do about issue and have lost hope nobody seems to know what's causing thr issue. I have videos of this happening multiple times and I show to shops and they are just im awe and can't figure out what is happening. This happened to me yesterday 4/25/25 and while driving the truck started to show all lights on dash and immediately put itself into park while I was driving about 20 mph. Turned the truck off and started it back on again and got the service shifter message and drove home slowly and truck sat in driveway. I've taken in the truck multiple times and nobody seems to know what is causing the issue and I'm tired of spending money things they believe it to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated as we are starting to lose hope on this vehicle and are thinking about letting get repossessed as it's not useful to us if it can't be fixed

Had the High flow fuel pump Changed and less than 400 miles had a catastrophic failure. Had to pay for a tow was told nothing is under warranty, even though it was caused all by a faulty fuel pump and caused other issues and was told by Stalantis that they do not cover calamity damage had to pay for PCM and injectors. My truck is still not fixed. My engine light is still on, brought it to three dealerships and nobody can figure it out. Also the deaf system is not functioning properly and had it replaced a 20,000 and at 70,000.

I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie that I've owned for just over a year. I have already had to replace the EPS rack and pinion once, due to losing all power steering while driving with my kids. I paid $1,800 for the rack and pinion with a limited warranty. The warranty is now up and I am having to buy another rack and pinion from $1,800-$2,500. When I was driving my kids to school, my steering wheel completely locked up and I could not control my vehicle. This has been an ongoing issue and my truck has been inoperable for three weeks. MOPAR is selling dangerous vehicle that are not road worthy that endanger not only my family's lives, but those also on the road. This issue needs fixed, because I am now paying for a vehicle that is unsafe and is putting me in financial hardship. The issue has been confirmed by a mechanic shop to be the EPS rack and pinion system. There was zero warning each time this has occurred, I just lost complete control of my vehicle without warning.

My 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie truck started throwing a check engine light recently while also occasionally being put into "battery saver mode". I went to the dealership to have it checked. The issue is a malfunctioning alternator / generator unit (Mobile Generator Unit) which is a key component of the eTorque system. The dealer said the repair protocol is to replace the MGU. The problem is that there are literally no parts available in the US with no known ETA. The best approximation is 6 months or more. The waitlist is literally more than 3,000 customers. There is clearly a problem with the part and it seems like they aren't currently producing any more which is growing the problem. So, I'm now left with a very bad option - continue driving the truck and risk the MGU failing at any point and causing a serious accident. I have been in a vehicle on the highway when the alternator fails and all electrical systems shut down. It was terrifying for me and my family and we were very fortunate to avoid injury. My other options are to either not drive the truck and wait (not a viable option) or be forced to sell the truck which I would rather not do since it's fully paid off and should go many more miles.

The “alternator” is failing on these pickups. The Dodge Mopar says it’s back ordered by 5,000 units of these! 5,000! And have no date to tell you when it will be available . As I scour the internet, 1000’s of people are stranded with almost new pickups , with no way to fix them. We are one of them. I don’t understand how Dodge can be trusted.

Subject: Request for Warranty Coverage Review – Fuel Tank Filling Issue / TSB 14-005-25 I am writing this too you to requesting assistance regarding a persistent issue with my 2018 RAM 1500 SLT (VIN: [XXX] ), which is having difficulty when refueling. The fuel nozzle consistently shuts off prematurely, and in many cases, will not activate the automatic shut-off mechanism. I often have to stand at the pump and manually control the nozzle to refuel the vehicle. As a result, the tank sometimes overfills, spilling gasoline down the side of the truck and onto the ground — posing a serious safety and environmental hazard, including the risk of fire. My mechanic informed me that this issue is covered under Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 14-005-25, dated February 20, 2025, which states that certain RAM 1500 models—including mine—may have a manufacturing defect requiring fuel tank replacement. According to the TSB, this issue affects vehicles with the 5.7L V8 HEMI engine and either a 26 or 32-gallon fuel tank, built on or before March 16, 2020. My vehicle matches these criteria exactly. However, when I took the vehicle to my local Dodge dealership, they informed me that the repair would not be covered under warranty, without providing a clear explanation. Given that this issue is acknowledged by RAM as a manufacturing defect and involves a potential safety hazard, I am seeking clarification and assistance in resolving the issue as suggested by the TSB guidance for known issue. The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated while stopped at a traffic light, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine. The contact pulled over to the right side and attempted to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to Town and Country Garage. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000.

ABS module failed at 46000 miles. Cannot drive the vehicle due to this problem. Code C2200-49 internal failure. When hitting brakes in rain, tires lock up. Stability control is also off, cruise control does not work. The part to repair this truck are unavailable. Part # 68295368AB Dealership mechanics are telling me to buy on used one on ebay and have them install it. They said there are 3600 of these modules on national back order. Stellantis keeps putting off the engineering sign-off back when the next posted date arrives (as of 4/21/25.)

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle independently stopped, and the vehicle lost motive power. In addition, the ABS warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had occurred while driving uphill, and the vehicle rolled backwards down the hill, into oncoming traffic. In addition, the steering wheel failed to turn in the intended direction. The contact waited for about twenty-five minutes and the vehicle was started, and the system independently reset. The contact stated that the failure was persistent. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed ABS and hydraulic electronic control unit (HECU). The contact was informed that the ABS and the hydraulic electronic control unit (HECU) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts were on backorder. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 114,000.

The steering rack on my 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 is defective. The steering system becomes disabled and shuts down with no prior warning causing the vehicle to become very dangerous to drive. The warning lamp indicates the word steering with an exclamation point. I had my vehicle taken to the auto repair shop and was told the steering rack was inoperative and needed a whole new rack costing just for the part alone $2415.00 plus an alignment and labor for a total cost of $3275.00. I have done research and found that Chrysler Corp is well aware of this situation for years but is ignoring the safety of customers that have put their faith in Chrysler by having a vehicles that is safe and reliable as stated by the dealerships and not putting lives at risk. I feel I have avoided a situation that could have change my life for years or even worse the lives of my loved ones .

I have a 2023 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 12” Uconnect/ infotainment/ telematics system. The system only works for a minute possibly 2 minutes if I am lucky. The whole system shuts off which takes away my bluetooth capabilities, backup camera, all sound systems. My ability to access all safety features on my vehicle. For the not so safety problems, the heat and cooling is just a guessing game. I have no access to use the heated seat or steering wheel features in a brand new vehicle (I lived where it gets -40 degrees fahrenheit when I got this truck.) It also does not allow my cluster gauge to show time, or temperature. This truck has been in and out of the dealership to be worked on for this specific problem more than 3 times. They have replaced the whole system 4 times and replaced a ton of other parts and pieces, and running many diagnostics on it. It has now been at the dealership for over 30 days with no success.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle veered to the right independently. The contact used force to turn the steering wheel. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that on another occasion, while driving 60 MPH, with the cruise control activated, the vehicle failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the steering box and rack and pinion had failed. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
