Parts number 68623194AB, generator kit for alternator. This part went out on my Ram, Ram is backed up for months on this part. There are more than 10,000 vehicles with this problem. Im also being told that the product is not being produced at the moment, which puts my vehicle out of commission until the part arrives.

Driving down the freeway, with no previous issues at 80MPH. Next thing the truck stalls and won't restart. Vehicle jumped and runs when connected stops immediately once unjumped. Replaced battery at 51,000 miles and vehicle runs fine. Concern is the alternator is not strong enough to power the vehicle if the battery dies for mysterious reasons.

Multiple warning lights for “Automatic Emergency Braking Unavailable Service Required” along with “Blind Spot Unavailable Service Required” this truck required 4 (four) trips to the dealer to find a resolution. Parts took 50 days to arrive so had to disable these important safety systems and continue driving. Blind spot light on passenger side mirror goes off randomly in heavy rain even after this repair. So while driving in the rain, it’s unreliable. Over 30 other reports of all the above issues on the RAM-RHO forums.

The MGU of the 2021 Ram Laramie (e-torque) is not functioning properly and hampers the safety of the vehicle. The MGU, which controls the alternator, will not charge the battery beyond 13.0/13.2 volts during driving. As a result, when sitting for several days, the battery will not have sufficient voltage to start the vehicle since it is not charged fully during driving. Additionally, the MGU is now making a strange bearing noise so we will see if a failure is imminent. Considering this MGU controls the starting of the vehicle during stop/start, and the battery is not charging sufficiently to ensure the owner is not stranded, I consider this a significant safety issue (especially when I live in a place with winter of 8 months). I have not seen any warning lamps, but the charging indicator/screen shows 13.0 as below normal.

Vehicle: 2025 Ram 1500 RHO (base trim) VIN: [XXX] Build Date: [XXX] Purchase Date: [XXX] Mileage at first occurrence: ≈ 40 miles (issue began immediately after delivery) Mileage now: [insert current mileage] Problem Description The instrument cluster (IPC) repeatedly reboots while driving or upon each key cycle. Every restart forces the odometer to reset and display 40 miles, erasing the accurate accumulated mileage. Simultaneously, the vehicle fails to retain any infotainment or vehicle-settings data (radio presets, climate preferences, drive modes, seat/mirror memory). This occurs 100 % of the time with every ignition cycle and has happened on every drive since purchase. Safety Concern A rebooting cluster distracts the driver, removes access to critical information (speedometer, warning lights), and falsifies odometer readings—potentially masking future maintenance intervals and impairing resale/title accuracy. The loss of settings can also disable previously selected safety aids (e.g., adaptive cruise presets, lane-keep parameters) without the driver’s knowledge. Attempts to Resolve Hard battery reset performed (negative-terminal disconnect, 30 min). Issue returned on first restart. Awaiting dealer appointment; preliminary research indicates similar complaints among early-production 2025 RHO vehicles and a possible IPC/BCM firmware defect. No official recall or TSB acknowledged for my VIN to date. Frequency Every ignition cycle; cluster reboot typically occurs within 30 seconds of start-up or during the first two minutes of driving. Infotainment/vehicle settings never save between cycles. Events & Dates [XXX]: Vehicle delivered; first reboot observed while exiting dealership lot. 06/29/2025–present: Issue persists on every drive. Requested Action Investigation into potential defective IPC/BCM firmware or hardware causing repeated reboots and odometer data loss on 2025 Ram 1500 RHO models built in April 2025. Abs module not communicating and is common issue. It is so common thee is a back order on abs module and you can’t obtain one with dealer or online. So Dodge is ok with poee driving around with no abs and it also disables trailer brakes and cruise control but no resolve with manufacture.

I was on a 4 hour drive to Ohio and got to my hotel parking lot, started unpacking and my service power steering like came on. Took it into a shop just down the road and it was a struggle to turn it. they told me the rack and pinion went out. Glad I wasn't on the freeway when this happened.

I was parked and attempted to leave and put my truck on drive. The shifter known would not go into drive mode. I kept getting an error code to “Service Shifter” after multiple attempts the truck went inky drive mode and I drove home with the error code to “Service Shifter”. When I arrived home to back into my drive way, the truck would not go into reverse. I sat in the middle of the street for an hour before the shifter released into reverse with the same error code. I drove the truck to the dealership where it was purchased and was advised not to drive the truck due to the danger of the shifter and the truck could possibly stay on drive/reverse mode when driving. My truck had been at the dealership for 15 days and I have been told that the shifter has been replaced 3 times, and the electrical relay is not responding. I am told that the Ram specialists are trying to determine what the problem is and have been contacted and can connect to my trucks electrical system. I was told that a Transmission Control Module is being ordered for replacement. The Service Dept Manager stated that this is a new problem with the 2025 Dodge Ram and ALL the Ram Specialists are baffled.

Steering Gear Rack - Steering control rapidly diminished over a short amount of time. Initially was okay but steering began to intermittently stick and wouldn’t self-center. Issue became nearly full-time within a month. Got to the point that it required a ‘tug’ to re-center. Took to a shop to additionally find that the boot clamps had broke themselves loose, causing the boots to separate and freely slide around. Driver seat airbag - service airbag system (?) warning on dash. Loose/bad connector in center console according to a mechanic leading to potential airbag deployment failure. Both of these issues are reportedly exceedingly common among RAMs, with steering gear racks extending as far back as 2013, and the airbag situation commonly effecting at least the ‘18 models. Additionally, Rear axle (passenger-side) - Shop discovered at the same time a seal had failed causing axle lubricant to spray onto hub causing extreme risk to breaking system due to the spray. Potentially lead to corrosion of caliper and caused advanced rusting resulting in wheel not spinning freely/easily. Driver side works as should. Warranty refused coverage of steering gear rack due to ‘improper installation’, as they claim, due to boots having separated from their respective mount points and loose clamps. Dates and mileage are rough estimates at time of on-set.

On June 26, 2025 my wife was driving our 2013 Dodge ram on a state route at approximately 60 mph. Without warning, the power steering failed to function, causing the vehicle to lose control. My wife was able to bring the car to the edge of the road without crash. The vehicle was then removed to my residence location. The vehicle power steering is totally in operative. A warning light displays on the dash. There appears to be some type of issue with Dodge trucks, electronic power steering for multiple years of manufacturer. Was very lucky that my wife was not injured in this crash. This is a tremendous safety issue, and if affects multiple years should be recalled.

At 60,000 miles I started experiencing power steering failure at random times. Speed of vehicle or time of year did not matter. Vehicle becomes extremely difficult to steer. This is the electronic steering rack. This has been continuing on for 20,000+ miles and I cannot take it anymore. I feel like I have gotten a lemon and I am continuing to put myself and others at risk. I will not allow other members of my family to drive this vehicle because of the safety concerns. I am aware of no recall on the 2017 remodel year but there is on the previous year - which is when my vehicle was manufactured. There were no warnings when this started happening...no check engine light or other issues. I recently had an inspection and quote (attached) to repair but is cost prohibitive at the moment. I am honestly considering legal action if possible.

I started my 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 and began to drive it. Without any prior warnings, my power steering went out. Fortunately, I had not made it to a major road to put any others in danger by not being able to maneuver the vehicle or driving down the highway and possibly wrecking the truck. At this time, I'm currently looking for a mechanic that can assess the damage but was saddened to see how there have been recalls for the electronic power steering system on 2015 and 2016 Dodge Rams but NOT the 2014 when so many others have experienced the same difficulties.

The truck has been to the dealer on multiple occasions because I continue to receive airbag system alerts. When the alert comes on a warning displays on the console that the airbag system has malfunctioned. The dealer states the clock spring needs to be replaced. I’ve been waiting since November 22, 2024 for the part. It is now June 27, 2025 and still don’t have the part. I experience the alert on my console at least 3-5 times a week.

When attempting to merge with traffic and accelerate quickly the transmission occasionally will stay locked in a lower gear leading the engine to stall out causing a collision risk. This usually occurs when attempting to accelerate quickly. When accelerating from a stopped position, there is a delay in power which requires the operator to time their merges in anticipation of this problem. This also caused the vehicle to lurch forward adding to the risks of accidental collision.

The alternator failed suddenly and without warning, leaving me stranded on a road with no shoulder during 91°F heat. The vehicle lost electrical power and required a tow. This is not just a standard alternator,it’s a component of the eTorque mild hybrid system and requires both a specific part and a dealer reprogramming (flash) to function. After the incident, I learned that the part is on national backorder with more than 4,000 vehicles waiting, according to multiple dealers and service centers I’ve contacted. Ram has provided no reliable ETA, loaner, or support option. This is a critical failure that completely disables the vehicle and creates a dangerous safety situation, especially in high temperatures or in areas where pulling over safely is not an option. I was without air conditioning or any form of engine power while exposed to traffic and heat, and had to wait a prolonged time for a tow. This appears to be a widespread issue with Ram eTorque vehicles, particularly the alternator/starter-generator assembly. The required flash must be performed by a dealer, so no aftermarket or independent fix is currently viable. Ram has not issued a recall or taken accountability for this dangerous and increasingly common failure. I am filing this report to request investigation into the failure rate of these eTorque alternators, the supply chain delays that make timely repairs impossible, and the complete lack of contingency support or guidance for affected customers.
