The fuel pump in the 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Longhorn Lemaire overheats while driving with less than a quarter tank of petrol. Stalling during acceleration, prolonged cranking durations prior to ignition, and abrupt power loss at highway velocities causes significant warning signs. Engine surges at times and cause irregular idling. Whining and buzzing sounds emanating from the fuel tank region. Decreased fuel efficiency without justification. The check engine light is illuminated with fuel pressure-related codes (P0087, P0190). Research indicates that 4th generation Rams (2009-2018) frequently experience failures owing to inadequate factory pumps and issues with the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) relay. The fifth-generation vehicles (2019 and beyond) exhibit a reduction in failures; nonetheless, they remain susceptible to contamination from degraded plastic tanks when ethanol-blended gasoline is utilized over extended periods, and pressure below requirements indicates pump failure.

SERVICE BRAKES
The brake pedal goes to the floor when starting the truck. The dealer has confirmed it. It is available for inspection. My safety and others are in possible danger from failing brakes. The dealer has confirmed the problem. The manufacturer has been involved with the dealer. They opened a "star case" that has not resolved the defect. So far, the problem has only affected the truck while starting. The brake light did come on one time while driving. The truck has been in the dealer service for over 40 days with no resolution. The dealer said on the worksheet that they tested other similar trucks on the lot and were able to duplicate the problem in them. The problem started shortly after I took possession of the truck. I was told that it wasn't a problem and it would go away. I now have 5700 miles on it, and it still malfunctions. I took possession of the truck in Sept of 24.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
I presently have 92,200 miles on my Doge Ram. I have experienced 3 fuel pump/fuel sender failures. The first at 18,947 miles, second at 43,634 miles and third at 92,263.This last fuel pump replacement will have the defective pump available for inspection after the repair work is done. The failure of a fuel pump/sender could lead to stalling, power loss and failure to start. These deficiencies could lead to traffic accidents resulting in property loss and bodily harm or even death. The warnings persisted until I had the parts replaced. Because of the number of times (3)and the low mileage , 18k,43k and 92k miles, it appears that the fuel pumps used in this model of Dodge Ram are either defective or inadequately engineered. These failures were preceded by and check engine warning light followed by a fuel sensor failure light and fuel gauge malfunction.

In addition, the “Service Power Steering” warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled in the middle of a busy roadway. The contact stated that her small children were occupants of the vehicle during the failure. The contact was able to get the vehicle over to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. ENGINE
this vehicle is equipped with 3.0 litre ecodiesel. truck has been in for numerous recalls--no problem. i have spoken to numerous buyers of these trucks with this engine and virtually everyone has replaced engine once or sometimes twice. i needed to replace toner wheel behind flywheel a couple weeks ago. this was a 1200.00 fix. stellantis's fix was to reprogram ecu so engine would not fail on highway but did not address the root cause of the problem. i find it appalling that stellantis has not been forced to extend the warranty on these engines since every customer paid extra for the longevity of diesel power. i am afraid to drive this truck since there are probably 2-3 rams every week on facebook marketplace locally with seized engines. this truck has 135000 miles and i am afraid the end is near.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the failure persisted. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the crankshaft position sensor tone wheel. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V411000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), but the VIN was not included. The engine light came on, and I noticed some noise under the hood at the same time. The actual code for the OBD two diagnostics was poa43. Drive motor a position sensor circuit issue. It appears that the Rams have a E torque system that is failing over and over again its federal warranty is eight years and 80,000 miles. I am just above the mileage unfortunately it’ll have to pay thousands probably. This really shouldn’t fail on a vehicle like this and hundreds of people have it and the part is backordered so you have downtime of your vehicle for weeks if not months.

My back up camera has went out, I took it to be repaired at the dealership they said it was disconnected. It was reconnected at that time. It has quit again doing the same thing it was doing before. I have not disconnected any wires that would cause this issue.

I was trying to get into my car and my RF hub stop working I couldn't get into my car and when I was able to I couldn't start it. I was at my daughters daycare and we were stranded. They say it was due to water damage and they stated this was caused by a faulty seal on the vehicle's and water entered the truck. This item should be recalled and fixed at the dealerships expense since its an known issue. What if I needed to take my daughter or family member to the ER.
