I am writing as a concerned RAM owner facing a severe safety risk due to the unresolved OEM trailer brake controller (TBC) issue. I bought my truck to tow a travel trailer, which I cannot safely do without resolving this. Background: • Purchased 2025 RAM 1500 LARAMIE CREW CAB 4X4 (VIN: [XXX] ) in March 2025. My previous 2022 RAM’s TBC is incompatible with 2025 due to CAN-bus/electrical changes—this was not disclosed at purchase. • On April 3rd 2025, Mopar support incorrectly told me to buy PN 82219232AA. I later found I needed 82219240AB, which I ordered. Delivery was repeatedly delayed, then canceled in May with no alternative offered. • Opened Case [XXX] with RAM Customer Care on June 10th 2025—no resolution since. • I confirmed my truck is pre-wired with harness 68601443AA and only needs module PN 68569520AB and dash switch PN 68618899AA. I sourced these and scheduled install at Serra Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM for July 28th 2025. Initially told they could do it, but upon arrival, they refused, claiming it must be done at the factory. This is incorrect. Mopar document 82219232AB [XXX] ) provides dealers official instructions to install/activate the TBC, especially when the truck already has the factory wiring. Safety risk: I used a CURT Bluetooth brake controller as a temporary fix. It frequently loses connection, making it unsafe during sway, high winds, or oscillations. If it fails mid-trip, I lose trailer-only braking. Request: 1.Immediate coordination to install/activate the OEM TBC (Sales Code XHC + proxy alignment). 2.If not feasible, replace the vehicle with one having a factory TBC at no cost to me. Twice it restarted right away, one time it died and would not restart because the battery was completely discharged. It have been in service 3 times, the 1st time no faults were found, the truck was in the shop for 2 months. The second time the vehicle was in the shop for 2 or 3 months and the etorque was replaced. Currently the vehicle is in the shop, the dealership said the truck started right up with no faults found, the shop is trying to find the fault.

- #11680185August 12, 2025FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
While refueling my 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie with the large (33 gal) fuel tank, the fuel pump "vacuum-assisted automatic shutoff" or "nozzle shutoff mechanism" is triggered dozens of times prior to the tank actually reaching a full level. I have been experiencing this issue consistently for the past year and it has occurred, to the same degree, at each of the fill-ups conducted at a variety of gas stations during this time. I've had an independent service center diagnose the issue and they recommended I take it to a dealer for service and also report the issue because this has been a common issue they have seen. Other Ram 1500 owners on internet forums also report having had this issue. The safety issue is that gas may become trapped in a fuel system component where it shouldn't be collecting which exposes vehicle occupants to an increased risk of fire in the event of an accident. Furthermore, this condition makes it nearly impossible to know when the fuel tank is full because the shutoff mechanism is triggered many times prior to full. This results in over-filling the tank and possibly having fuel remain in the filler neck, which also unnecessarily increases the risk to vehicle occupants to fire or explosion if involved in an accident. Vehicle owner manuals and gas station pump warning stickers typically warn operators of the dangers of over-filling or "topping off" fuel tanks specifically for this reason. With the system not operating correctly, the risk of overfilling is severe and unsafe.

After coming to a rolling stop and making a right, I would attempt to accelerate. The vehicle would then throw itself out of gear and I could not accelerate. A message would appear on the dash "Shift to P then Desired Gear." The problem would not be fixed until the vehicle was put in park, then back into drive. I took the vehicle to RAM and they could not replicate the issue, but it would happen to me regularly (1-2 times a month at random). I told this to RAM Dealership and RAM Cares, but nobody seemed bothered that it could get people killed. The problem did not seem to get fixed until I took apart the throttle body and cleaned it out by hand. Since then, I had not had an issue.

At about 77k miles, I started hearing a humming noise from the engine when I would accelerate and then decelerate. Upon inspection and confirmation from Ram dealership, the Engine Generator Kit (alternator) appeared to have a bad bearing and needed to be replaced. I initially agreed to the replacement until I was told that the part needed is on backorder and that there were roughly 4k orders placed ahead of mine nationally. This means I have no way of fixing this issue using an original MOPAR part. I was told I can agree to pay for the item to get the order placed and then wait until it comes in with no timeframe given other than it could be weeks or months. I am now having to drive around in a vehicle that could potentially breakdown at any time and thus leaving me with no vehicle. I do not have any warning lights on the dash but it seems like I am driving a ticking timebomb.

In November 2024, my 2019 RAM Rebel displayed “SERVICE SHIFTER,” “PARKING ASSIST,” and “CHECK ENGINE” lights. Dealer performed software updates, but one week later the lights returned. Dealer then replaced the parking assist module, but two weeks later the same issue happened again. I have brought the truck in multiple times since. Often the lights turn off before arrival, and dealer states no fault can be detected. I was told to bring it in immediately when the lights are on, which I did, but still no fault found. Problem continues, and now the truck has begun putting itself into park while driving or when stopped. This is an ongoing and serious safety hazard. I also added photos of others affected by the same issue.
