Generator/altenator. MGU system. Vehicle was hard to crank at store. After it cranked it seemed fine until I went to pull into traffic. Then it completely died In the middle of the road where I was nearly t boned by a garbage truck. All power was gone. No lights, no radio not a thing worked. After 10 minutes waiting in my wife, it cranked. I was driving home and it started smelling something burning like rubber in the cab. Apparently it was the battery in the back seat over heating. It never crunk again and is now in the shop after being towed. MGU failure and burnt batteries. On back order for months is what I am hearing.

Antilock brake system module failure. The system controls the anti-locking brake system as well as vehicle stability control, both federally mandated for this year vehicle. The ABS, stability control, and brake lights are illuminated on the dash. The message “service antilock brake system” is displayed on the message center as well as “service electronic braking system” The part is not available for inspection at this time as it is still on the vehicle and cannot be removed without causing complete failure of the braking system. The vehicle is still being driven as there is no other option at this time. Failure of the system puts anyone operating the vehicle in danger due to the ABS & Stability systems being inoperable. Failure confirmed by independent auto repair technician. ABS system reset and re-initialize without resolution of the issue. The part has not been inspected by the dealership who did not wish to inspect it as it was known issue. No accidents involved with my vehicle due to this as yet. The system failed in November 2023. I contacting the Ram dealer to replace the part and I was informed there were no modules available because it was on “Engineering Hold”. This was explained that the part had to be redesigned due to a continuous failure/problem. I was told it would be available in March 2024. Re-contacted the dealership in March 2024 and was advised it would not be until after June or July. The Part became available sometime after August 2024. However, due to the backlog of vehicles the dealership had to repair, none were available clear into 2025. As I understand, this is a widespread problem that has affected 10’s to 100’s of thousands of vehicles. Part numbers 68295368AA & 68295368AB with the redesigned part being 68295368AC. I also understand that this part has failed on the Durango, Charger, and Challenger vehicles as well.

- #11681501August 19, 2025FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
On Friday, August 15, 2025, while leaving a grocery store, my wife pointed out that a part was hanging under my truck. After checking, I noticed that it was one of the two straps that supports the gas tank. It had dropped 3 inches from its original location and was only supported by one strap (the rear one). I temporarily attached the tank with a strap to secure it. At home, I checked the cause of this damage. I noticed that the area (the spacer on the frame, which has a "T"-shaped notch) where the tank strap is held (the end of the strap is "T"-shaped) is rotten, and the end of the strap has passed through. I didn't check the other attachment, but it could have the same problem because it's the same design. This part of the spacer is welded to the frame tightly and fills with dirt and water, causing corrosion.

MGU (alternator) has went out on my truck and multiple dealerships have stated they can’t fix it due to parts not available. Molar can’t get the part and now I’m stuck with no vehicle. The dealership told me they have multiple people waiting for the same part and that the MGU is faulty and fails on these trucks. My wife was taking my kids to school and they were stranded on the side of the road because my truck give a battery low warning and then died. It should be illegal for ram to continue to sell these vehicles and refuse to fix them. I can’t even buy a used part to fix it because the dealership won’t program and install a used part.

Safety Complaint – Power Steering Failure on 2019 RAM 1500 Big Horn 4x4 Not Covered by Recall VB8 To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this complaint regarding a recurring safety issue with my 2019 Dodge RAM 1500 Big Horn 4x4. The vehicle experiences intermittent power steering loss, particularly during colder temperatures. This issue matches the symptoms described in Safety Recall VB8 / NHTSA 19V-812, which affects certain 2019 RAM 1500 vehicles due to contamination in the EPS gear. However, my VIN is not currently included in the recall, despite the alignment in model, year, and issue. I have already incurred diagnostic costs and have a follow-up appointment scheduled at a RAM dealership to further investigate the issue. I am requesting that NHTSA: - Review my case and consider expanding the scope of Recall VB8 to include additional affected VINs - Investigate whether similar complaints have been filed for vehicles outside the current recall range - Ensure Chrysler/RAM is addressing this issue consistently and fairly across all impacted vehicles Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am happy to provide additional documentation upon request. Request for investigation and recall of 2018 Dodge Ram Tradesman vehicles due to exhaust manifold defects, Carbon Monoxide (CO) poisoning causing driver impairment, indirect impact on steering system functionality, and documented cases of accidents. I became disoriented, severe headache, drowsy, confused, steering wheel vibrated, pulled over got out of vehicle set on side of road until feeling better. The manifold bolt broke leaking co2 into canon. I had no ideal and could have passed out causing death and potentially death to others. Was on highway doing 65mph. This is a common documented issue and must be addressed with Dodge ram trucks. Makes no since with all the evidence it has not been corrected already.

SAFETY DEFECT: Database Classification Failure - 2013 Ram Vehicles Vehicle: 2013 Ram 1500, VIN: [ENTER VIN ABOVE] Owner: [ENTER NAME ABOVE] Email: [ENTER EMAIL ABOVE] Phone: [ENTER PHONE ABOVE] Defect Description: The 2013 model year Ram vehicles suffer from a systematic database classification failure that prevents normal ownership operations and creates safety hazards. Due to the Dodge-to-Ram brand transition in 2013, these vehicles are not properly recognized in automotive databases used by: • Auto parts retailers (O'Reilly's, AutoZone, etc.) • Insurance companies and quote systems • Tire retailers and service centers • Emergency roadside assistance systems • Government vehicle registration systems Safety Implications: • Inability to quickly procure critical replacement parts during emergencies • Delays in obtaining proper insurance coverage • Emergency service complications due to vehicle misidentification • Forced manual workarounds that increase human error risk Consumer Impact: Vehicle owners are forced to spend excessive time and resources (phone calls, manual lookups, repeated explanations) to perform basic vehicle ownership functions. This constitutes an operational defect that prevents normal commercial transactions. Requested Action: NHTSA should require Stellantis to issue a recall to correct the database classification error across all automotive systems, or provide alternative identification mechanisms that ensure proper vehicle recognition. Root Cause: Stellantis' failure to properly coordinate database updates during the 2013 Dodge Ram to Ram transition, leaving vehicles in a "database orphan" state.

- #11681276August 18, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I was involved in a crash that resulted in a fatality on [XXX]. My truck was towed to Five Star Collision Center in Hurst, TX. The repairs were made to the body of my truck. I picked up the truck and ABS warning lights came on. I called Fove Star Collision Center and spoke to my point of contact- Nathan Hultquist. Nathan advised that I should drive the truck back immediately. I took the truck my to Nathan. He advised that I should drive the truck to the closest Dodge dealership. I did so. My ABS Module is out on my 2016 Ram.The warning lamps came on- service brake system, service trailer brake, ABS light stayed illuminated. This appeared 150 days ago. It has been at Grapevine Dodge for over 150 days. It is in limp mode and has been declared unsafe to drive. I have been in communication with Stellantis/MOPAR for the 150 days. There is no resolution. They claim there is no material to manufacture the part? It appears to be made of plastic? I feel that this is a safety concern due to the fact that if the brakes are applied in an emergency situation, the ABS fails and the brakes lock up. The truck can go into limp mode which is at 35 MPH. On a state highway, moving at that speed- that is NOT safe. There are plenty of these trucks out on the road that could have this same problem and cause serious accidents including a death. I ask for your assistance in this matter. Power steering assist failed while driving. Can still be steered manually by force, but no electronic assist. Makes the vehicle unsafe to drive, and thankfully I was able to get safely off the road. When I looked into this, it’s a known issue with rams, and hasn’t been addressed in my year model, 2013. I can’t understand how a safety risk like this is going unaddressed. I was quoted 2 thousand plus dollars by the dealership to fix.

1. On August 14th, 2025, Rear Air Ride Suspension failed. Received a “ Service Air Suspension Immediately” warning light right before the air suspension failed and lost control of the rear suspension. Yes it’s available for inspection. 2. The rear shocks lost air and the vehicle started to drive erratically and bouncing up and down. Could not keep control of the steering due to this. 3. It was confirmed at the dealership 8/18/2025 when the dealer representative installed the diagnostic reader in my obd port of my vehicle they determined codes for air leak and possible faulty air compressor or rear Air shocks. 4. The vehicle nor it’s components have not been inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance representative. 5. No previous warnings of this issue.
