Exhaust manifold bolts on the passenger side of the vehicle (2019, 5.7 Hemi, Larami version) have broken. The exhaust system is leaking. An exhaust smell and taste is readily detectable when standing near the cab doors of the vehicle. There is an unknown, regarding if any amount of the exhaust is being drawn into the cab air intake.

Vehicle was a 2021 Ram 1500 (60k miles) with no known problems or issues. Drove home during during rainstorm truck operated normally. Next morning truck started normally with an error message "Power Steering Unavailable". Truck then began to run through a series of "error messages" and windshield wipers turned on and truck would not shutdown, unless you disconnected the battery. Towed to dealership and after several weeks of diagnostics with the manufacturer's assistance (due to the number of errors) it was determined the failure was the Power Steering Module. Once the Power Steering Module was removed, all other modules came back online and functioned normally. Even though the dealership has seen multiple failures of this type, it was not on the recall for this truck. Had this failure happened with my family in the vehicle while driving, it could have had devastating effects...

I was told by the dealer that the exhaust bolts for the Y pipe to the extension pipe are broken causing my exhaust to be louder than normal. My truck is 4 years old and I expect that the exhaust hardware would last longer than 4 years but apparently not. This condition may allow exhaust fumes to leak into the cab area of the vehicle potentially leading to someone getting sick or worse causing an accident from potentially loosing consciousness while driving. I went to a forum where they discussed this issue of the broken bolts on the Dodge Ram Trucks.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the fuel tank frame bracket had detached, and the fuel tank was hanging loose. The vehicle was taken to three independent mechanics, who determined that the frame rail bracket and fuel tank straps needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance because the vehicle was imported from Canada. The contact was advised to contact a customs broker for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

After rigorous research, it appears that my anti-lock braking system module has failed. A trusted family member that has worked on a plethora of vehicles during their career has performed an inspection and agrees. With the ABS module failing, this can be a significant safety issue for myself and others who own the same vehicle in both collision prevention and defensive driving maneuvers when necessary. I have called Ram dealerships specifically to inquire if the part is available, and it is not available but is in high demand (even dealerships are having difficulty with acquiring the part). After a significant amount of research, it is blatantly obvious that I am not the only one who can't find this needed part. This is my only vehicle for transportation. I have ordered the part with a third-party auto part vendor ($915.00) and have received an email from them advising me that the part I ordered and need is out of stock, and my spot in line is reserved for when the part becomes available. After even more research, I have learned that the manufacturer for Ram parts no longer manufactures this particular part. There currently are warning lights on (ABS, traction control, and the brake indicator) they have remained on since diagnosing this issue and have not gone away. With that being said, this can have a significant impact on immediate braking if necessary, and can lead to other problems such as stability control, transmission issues, uneven braking, parking brake failure, and ultimately total brake failure while in motion. This is not just an issue for me, but apparently for a significant amount of 2013-2015 Ram owners as well. I am on a budget; there is zero supply and high demand. Ram owners are hemorrhaging money regarding repairs to this necessary component for safe vehicle functionality. With this being my mode of transportation, I'm having to be even more aware of extra safety precautions which adds a significant amount of unnecessary stress as a driver.

EGR cooler has failed and leaked on manifold after 2 EGR bypass cooler replacements. Went online to see when original EGR recall was completed and online data base reported complete Dec 29, 2019. That particular part for the VB1 was not even ready until March-May 2020. There are also no service records or work order for that recall being completed whatsoever. The EGR cooler cracked on the manifold while driving with my kids and almost or did ignite as the whole truck was pouring smoke from behind and underneath. The dealer did inspect and confirm the damage and has been in touch with the manufacturer, acknowledges that there are no service records or work orders for that recall. Dealer acknowledged that no part was available. Manufacturer takes no responsibility but did state in e-mail they believe recall was claimed to have been done in transit during a stop sale.

I am writing to formally express my concern and disappointment regarding the unavailability of Mopar part #68295368AC, the ABS Control Module for the 2017 Ram 1500 Big Horn. As a result, both the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and cruise control are inoperative. This creates a serious hazard: without a functioning ABS, the risk of skidding and collisions increases significantly. In some cases, owners have reported vehicles rendered undriveable due to locked brakes caused by this failure. On [XXX], I brought my vehicle to Arrigo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Fort Pierce, Florida for scheduled 70,000-mile service. During intake, I showed the service advisor the illuminated ABS warning lights on my dashboard (see attached photos). Using On-Board Diagnostic Scanner (OBD service dongle), the advisor confirmed an active error code for internal ABS module failure. The service team performed the routine oil change and provided me a Multi-Point Inspection report. However, the report reflected all “green” results and contained no notation regarding the ABS failure, despite the confirmed error. After leaving the dealership and reviewing the documentation, I immediately returned. At that time, the advisor reconnected the diagnostic tool, again confirmed ABS Module Internal Failure, and explained the part was unavailable nationwide with no timeline for restock. I specifically requested to purchase the ABS module replacement for a total amount of $811.58 so this part would be noted in my service record. The service advisor added a note on the invoice that the Customer is aware that the part is on back order with no ETA at this time. Reference the following documentation dated 08/14/25: 1. Invoice #[XXX] 2. Invoice #[XXX] Arrigo CDJR Fort Pierce Multi-Point Inspection Checklist - incorrectly reflecting all “green/OK” results despite a failed ABS module. The power steering on the vehicle is stiff due to a communication error to the right pinion. At highway speeds the vehicle’s steering wheel lock up resulting in abrasive movements and a loss of control of the vehicle steering. When the vehicle is at a low rate speed, the steering wheel is very hard to turn, which has almost resulted in a number of vehicle collisions. After extension of research, I have became aware there’s a pending lawsuit with no power regarding this issue. It is approximately three to $4000 to replace the power steering rack and pinion. There have been numerous complaint as mentioned in the lawsuit. I believe if this issue is not immediately addressed, and a recall is submitted from Mopar motor vehicle accidents will increase resulting into severe injury threat to the general public.

The contact's husband owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while entering a parking space at less than 5 MPH, the vehicle independently accelerated forward. The vehicle accelerated over the concrete parking block and crashed into the grocery store's front window. The contact stated that the incident happened so quickly that they were uncertain if any warning lights appeared on the instrument panel or if the brake pedal was depressed during the acceleration. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact and her husband were taken to the hospital by ambulance; however, neither suffered any injuries. No other injuries were reported as a result of the incident. A police report was filed. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent tow yard before the contact's insurance had the vehicle towed to an independent body repair shop. The contact stated that the store's large front glass was shattered as a result of the accident, but was unaware if any other property was damaged. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer had yet been notified of the failure. Upon investigation, the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000(Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control) and NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V407000 (Air Bags, Seat Belts); both recalls were previously serviced on the vehicle. The vehicle remained in the possession of the independent body shop and had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

Driving to work and my truck lost all electrical power. All display lights turned on and hazard light signal started blinking but the hazard lights were not actually on. I then lost all electrical power; power steering, hazard lights would not turn on, all dash lights and display lights, head lights at first and then the battery died a couple minutes after that started. I could not put the truck into neutral so I could push it to the shoulder of the highway. I had to put it in Neutral manually with the pull tab under the steering wheel. My Ram 1500 5.7L hemi etorque was towed to Andy Mohr Chrysler Jeep Ram. The service shop told me that the motor generator unit is on back order and it could take a month or 2 months for the part to come in.

- #11681980August 20, 2025ENGINE, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Unknown. We have owned this vehicle for almost 3 years now and we have had to replace 2 sensors, the cruise control will intermittently no disengage when buttons are pushed or brake pushed, replaced the full pump, sometimes it will lose all power going down the road, HD to replace the fuse box because it was getting and started to melt, it will try to start and will just keep cranking until you slam on the gas, and the rear window leaks every time it rains. We have paid for everything out of pocket and we are still having all these problems and the mechanics can not figure out the problem, but are guessing it the fuel pump or fuel injectors.

On August 20, 2025, my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie was taken to the dealership for diagnosis after showing the warning “Electronic Stability Control system needs service,” along with a flashing check engine light. The dealer pulled diagnostic codes and documented U0403-00 (“Invalid Data Received from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module A”) as well as other communication errors. This is the same defect covered under Stellantis’ recall for ABS module failures that disable stability control in 2019 Ram trucks. However, my VIN is not included in the recall. A few years ago, the truck experienced the same warning, but the problem cleared on its own. Now it has returned and is documented with codes in the dealer system. The dealership acknowledged other recalls were already completed on my VIN, but refuses to perform this safety recall since my VIN is not listed. ABS and ESC failures are not the result of consumer behavior. This is a faulty system created at the time of vehicle manufacturing. There has been no accident or outside damage, and nothing the owner could have done to avoid this issue. The defect lies with the vehicle’s design and creates a serious safety risk for the driver and others on the road. I believe my VIN was excluded from the recall in error and request that NHTSA investigate and expand the coverage.

2020 RAM 1500 with a bad MGU (Motor-Generator Unit). Dealer says they have 2 trucks already waiting on the same part since January. There is a massive backlog and Chrysler is not offering anything on when this will be available. It's on an "engineering hold". It will eventually fail in these trucks and render them inoperable. Waiting 8-9 months for a part should never be an option in any scenario. This is also covered under the Federal Emissions Warranty.
