Front gas tank strap is detached from frame and fuel tank is hanging down ready to fall out on road. There is a recall for this condition on the 2009-2012 models but the same condition exists on the 2016. Strap pulled through the corroded bracket welded to the truck frame. Dealer says it is not covered under the recall. Pictures in recall U04 NHTSA 18V-160 look just like my truck so I didn't attach any.

2025 Dodge Ram 1500 with 741 miles began showing "Warning Light Illumination Unavailable Service Required". From what I have seen in numerous Ram forums this is a common occurrence. At this time I am told Ram does not have a solution for this. My concern is that no one at the dealership or Ram customer care can tell me what warning lights I may not be able to see when this warning appears. Vehicle us currently at the dealership where it has been for almost three weeks. I have been informed that the dash manufacturer has filed bankruptcy leaving consumers without a repair or replacement choice at this time. Again, Ram cannot tell me what lights I may not see (tire pressure warning, safety feature disablement, ABS, etc).

I own a 2016 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel (VIN: [XXX] ). This vehicle is covered under the EcoDiesel Approved Emissions Modification (AEM) Settlement extended warranty. Since the update in January 2025, the truck has suffered repeated EGR system failures and related warranty failures. The EcoDiesel lawsuit itself was based on EGR cooler defects that could leak coolant and cause fires. My truck has experienced the same failure pattern, with coolant leaks, overheating, and unsafe breakdowns. On [XXX], the vehicle shut off in the middle of the road while I was driving, creating a serious hazard. The cause was traced to a covered emissions component. This was not an isolated incident. The vehicle has been in dealerships for over 60 cumulative days since January 2025, mostly for repeated EGR codes and fuel system issues, but the root problem has never been properly repaired. On [XXX], the low-pressure fuel pump failed after it had already been replaced. The premature failure left me stranded and required a $500 tow. This failure also presented a risk of sudden power loss in traffic. Despite repeated visits to authorized dealers, repairs are incomplete or improperly billed, including installation of non-OEM parts that failed again. The repeated stalling, coolant leaks, overheating, and sudden no-start conditions show that this truck remains unsafe to operate on public roads. I am reporting this as a safety defect because the emissions system failures and improper repairs have caused the vehicle to shut off while driving and continue to present a risk of fire, engine damage, and sudden loss of power. I have had to replace the Driver's Side sun visor on my truck twice due to failure of the bracket holding the visor in place. The most recent time this happened was this month (August 2025). While I was entering the freeway in heavy traffic the visor fell down and was flopping in my face while I was traveling at approximately 70mph. I had the sun in my face, traffic beside me and had to use my left hand to catch the visor while avoiding a collision with a truck. The problem does not seem to be isolated to the Ram line of vehicles as we had the same problem with visor failure on my wife's 2023 Jeep Wagoner (vin [XXX] ). The bracket that holds the visor in place has a "push in tab/fitting" made of inferior material that is only about 1/8" thick and needs to be redesigned. I have attached photos of the failed part. the electronic power steering went out while operating the pick up on a city street and I was unable to steer the vehicle which created a safety issue for the pedestrians and passengers. There were no warnings or messages indicating a problem prior to me losing steering capability. I pulled over but had to get the truck off the roadway so I drove without power steering to the repair shop. This ‘repair’ cost me $183. The repair shop said they checked for recalls with my VIN, but there wasn't anything so I paid for the repair and drove home. The very next day, the power steering went out while driving on a city street again. I took the pickup back to the dealership for further repair. In researching this issue, I noticed there was a previous recall on the 2015 and 2016 electronic power steering in the Ram trucks for this very reason. I was advised by the dealership that my VIN was not on the recall list. I also called the Ram recall center and they verified this to be true. I addition, I mailed multiple letters to the RAM complaint center but have never heard from them. I called the RAM complaint center and again was told my VIN wasn't on the recall. I expressed my concern regarding other VIN's that weren't on the recall but have experienced the safety concerns for the RAM drivers, passengers and any pedestrians or other drivers near the RAM with the issues.

I’ve had this car for four years and my motor has blown three times and they have changed the head on the motor three different times I was driving the car on the highway. The car was at the dealership for five months and the day I get the car back not even eight hours later I’m driving down [XXX] other car shuts off and says to put in park and leave me stranded on the side of the road with my [XXX] child and my girlfriend . I had to wait until they came and picked me up and told me and this is extremely unsafe and a hazard after the third head replacement at the dealer and the car still under warranty. I don’t feel safe in this car with My Child. I picked up my truck around 2pm August 25th , and the motor blew Wednesday night at 1045pm for a 3rd time INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The strap that holds the gas tank has come loose from the frame causing the gas tank to drop. I took it to a mechanic for repairs and he told me that he was unable to repair it because the the frame was rotted out and there was no where to hook it back to the frame. He told me that there was a recall on my truck I should reach out to you for repairs.

Background: Vehicle purchased in Madison, WI at Schoepp Motors (July 2019). Has been continuously titled, registered, and insured in Wisconsin for over 6 years. Vehicle is fully legal in the U.S. and has a valid Wisconsin title. Issue: The fuel tank strap rusted and failed. This is a well-documented problem for Ram trucks, and Stellantis created an Extended Warranty (Code X75) to address the issue. Stellantis’ database still lists this VIN as a “Canadian market” vehicle. Because of this coding error, U.S. dealerships cannot process coverage under the Fuel Tank Strap Extended Warranty (X75, 12 years / unlimited miles). The X75 program exists specifically due to a safety concern (fuel tank strap corrosion). Despite multiple attempts to resolve this with Stellantis, I have only been directed to “contact a broker,” which does not address the underlying database problem. Timeline: 2019: Vehicle purchased in Madison, WI. 2019–2025: Vehicle continuously titled, registered, and insured in Wisconsin. August 26, 2025: Dealer confirms VIN is coded as Canadian and cannot process warranty coverage. August 27, 2025: Case opened with Stellantis US Customer Care (#[XXX]). Multiple calls and emails → Stellantis repeatedly instructs me to contact a broker, without identifying required documentation. I offered to provide Wisconsin title, registration, and insurance history. Broker consulted → confirmed import documents are not retained after 5 years (per CBP retention rules). Stellantis refuses to escalate meaningfully; no path forward provided. Concern: The X75 program is a safety-related warranty that Stellantis is refusing to honor for a U.S. resident with long-term U.S. ownership. All reasonable avenues with Stellantis Customer Care have been exhausted. I am requesting regulatory review and intervention to compel Stellantis to correct the VIN market assignment and honor the X75 safety program. While coming to a stop at my driveway the truck stalled while on the auto start/stop system, the vehicle had to be put in park and restarted as normal. The next day the same issue occurred then the battery warning light came on along with a engine code. The etorque motor/generator failed and has been confirmed by the dealership it was purchased from. Had I not been on such a low volume road the stalling could cause risk to me getting hit or causing someone to hit me due to the failure to restart. Vehicle is at dealership with confirmed etorque motor/generator failure and a warranty claim has been filed/in process

On June 26, 2025 there was heavy thunderstorms throughout our area. I was driving to my office to pick up an item and all of a sudden my dashboard lit up with numerous error messages. I turned the truck off and could not get it to start again. I had to have it towed to the dealership and they cleaned some electrical connectors and returned it to me. My wife picked it up and on the drive home the windshield wipers went off and she also had numerous error messages on the dashboard so we returned it to the dealership. They replaced some modules as they found rust and returned the truck to me. When I went to the dealership to pick it up the truck would not start. They then said there was some corrosion in the star connectors and some moisture behind the radio. They replaced parts and returned it back to me. Since then I have had the truck back and had three more electrical issues with the vehicle. The service technician does not know what the error is and is having trouble pinpointing the problem. Its an electrical issue that they can't figure out. Tomorrow I am returning my truck for the sixth time for the same issue. I do not trust the truck to drive around and have not been able to use it for over 60 days.

Traveling (cruising) at highway speed on interstate the engine suddenly made a clanking noise and engine oil pressure went to zero and engine stopped. I barley managed to just get out of major traffic without causing an accident and off the interstate coasting to a stop This could have been a tragic accident that was just barely avoided.the truck has 80043 miles. Just 43 miles out of warranty. It has been dealer serviced on time since day one. This seems to be an ongoing issue with these engines as they just decide to sop on their own with notice. If this had happened while passing another vehicle It would have been bad. FCA ( fiat, chrysler ,automobiles) refuses to help out or even listen. This is dangerous as is their fuel pump recalls. Truck is now out of warranty by 43 miles and the company FCA washes their hands of any kind of wrong doing. These engines in the vehicles are totally unsafe and unreliable and will some day cause a major death and harm to others !!!! Dealer have new upgraded engines in stock that the company send to them they are fully aware of an impeding disaster but yet dont care about human life.

I own a 2016 Ram 1500. The ABS control module has failed, which has completely disabled both the ABS system and the traction control system. This is a serious safety hazard because the vehicle now has no anti-lock braking or stability control, creating dangerous conditions in wet or emergency braking situations. •Component/System Failed: The ABS control module has malfunctioned. The part is still installed on my truck because I need it in place to drive the vehicle to work, but it can be made available for inspection if required. •Safety Risk: The failure disables both ABS and traction control, greatly increasing the risk of loss of control and extended stopping distances in wet, slippery, or emergency conditions. This creates a direct safety risk to both myself and others on the road. •Dealer Confirmation: I contacted a Ram dealer who confirmed that no replacement parts are available and that they do not know when or if parts will become available. •Inspection/Verification: The fault has been verified with an ABS diagnostic fault code. Local shops confirm this is a common failure. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives, but the failure is documented. •Warning Lights/Symptoms: The ABS warning lamp, traction control light, and brake system light are all illuminated on the dashboard. These first appeared at the time of the failure and remain constantly lit. The OEM (Stellantis/FCA) is not offering a new replacement ABS module. Multiple rebuild companies have told me they cannot repair this unit because the required electronic parts are unavailable. The only option available is extremely high-priced used modules from salvage sources, which are unreliable and difficult to obtain. This situation leaves owners without a safe or affordable path to restore critical safety systems. Despite being a known issue, there is no recall or service campaign from the manufacturer. NHTSA should investigate these ABS module failures on Ram

When turning my car on, I received warning lights for the ABS, Stability Track, and Traction Control systems. These stated they had all been deactivated. The Check Engine light also illuminated. I was in a safe, open lot location so I put my truck in drive to confirm this was not a dash/technical issue. The brakes were in fact almost completely deactivated. It took me over 100 feet to come to a stop. The brake pedal had slightly retracted also causing more issue in trying to reach the brake pedal. Once stopped, I checked the VIN and discovered this recall for the vehicle. The major complaint comes from the recall repair process with Ram/MOPAR. I took the truck to my nearest Ram dealership. Once in, they advised I needed two sensors replaced in the front wheel-well per the recall guidelines. The service department of the dealership further stated they could only order ONE sensor per month per dealership. Not per vehicle, per person, etc. They could as a dealership only order one sensor a month, meaning nobody else could come in for this recall repair while my FIRST sensor was being replaced. Now I am stuck waiting over a month for the second sensor to be ordered. They refused to give me a courtesy vehicle to drive for the time being so I am forced to drive my Ram with this recall issue with a major safety concern. I contacted Ram/MOPAR about this to find out if the dealership was correct in the part ordering statement and they could not give me a straight answer. Considering the brakes are about the most critical piece of safety equipment in a vehicle, I find this by Ram completely unacceptable and opening the door for potential bad things down the road.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH and exiting a highway, the contact heard a chime and became aware of the "Service Power Steering" warning light. The contact stated that the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact used additional force on the steering wheel to turn the steering wheel to the right and jerked the steering wheel to the center. The contact stopped the vehicle and disconnected the battery terminals to reset the system. The vehicle regained power steering functionality, but almost immediately, the vehicle lost steering assist functionality. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the power steering assist module and the rack and pinion gears had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19E077000 (Steering). The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 260,000.
