SummaryCertain 2021-2022 Model Year Mustang Mach E and 2022 Model Year E-Transit High Voltage Battery Module (HVBM) Replacement In all of the affected vehicles, a High Voltage Battery Module (HVBM) was previously replaced using an incorrect Thermal Interface Material (TIM) template. A HVBM that has been serviced using the incorrect TIM template may cause the cells to operate at a temperature higher than design intent, resulting in reduced cell performance and, over time, a progressive reduction in vehicle range that may become noticeable to the driver. This may also result in a malfunction indicator light, DTC code and battery power limiting.

SummarySome 2019-2024 vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 may experience a programming Error - "INSTL_ERR12" while programming APIM using the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) or experience a frozen screen which says "updating system software" or no progress/response from module using the universal USB updater. This may be due to low memory in the APIM commonly occurring on software level NU5T-14G381-AB/BB. The current software level can be verified in the SYNC tab of Professional Technician System (PTS) or using the vehicle's center display screen, Settings > General > About. To correct the condition, run the universal USB updater. If unsuccessful, using the latest software version of the FDRS scan tool, run the service function "APIM - Reset the Accessory Protocol Interface Module Application" and select "Clear All User Data" option. The center display screen will reboot. As soon as the vehicle's center display screen displays the boot up logo, immediately reinsert the same universal serial bus (USB) drive that was utilized during the prior failed programming attempt.

SummarySome 2023-2024 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with a 1.5L or 2.0L EcoBoost engine, 2024 Mustang vehicles equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine, and 2024 Nautilus vehicles may exhibit an engine misfire condition with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P0301, P0302, P0303 and/or P0304 set in the powertrain control module (PCM). If the codes are stored in the PCM, remove and inspect the condition of all the spark plugs. If all spark plugs are found to be free of damage, replacement of the spark plugs is not necessary. Refer to the Workshop Manual and perform normal diagnostics. If any spark plugs appear to be damaged, use a borescope to inspect the condition of the cylinder walls. If the cylinder walls are scored/scraped/damaged, replace the long block engine assembly (6006) to resolve this condition. If the cylinder walls are not scored/scraped/damaged, replace the damaged spark plug(s) and advise the customer that engineering is investigating this issue. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.

SummarySome 2024 Mustang vehicles built on or before 10-Feb-2024 may set diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U211B:87 in the ABS module during a diagnostic self-test. This may be due to the modules DTC sensitivity during vehicle key-on/start-up. Replacement or reprogramming of the ABS module may not resolve this condition. U211B:87 should be ignored if no other DTCs are present, no warning indicators are illuminated while the engine is running, and no noticeable symptoms are present. No further service action is required.

SummarySome 2018-2023 Mustang vehicles equipped with a 5.0L engine and a 10R80 transmission may exhibit a buck/jerk sensation that may be perceived as an engine misfire during throttle tip-in between 35-45 mph (56-72 km/h) and with the transmission in 8th, 9th, or 10th gear. This buck/jerk sensation is a characteristic of the vehicle and can be compared to a like vehicle that is equipped with a similar powertrain (engine, transmission, and rear end gear ratio) driven in the same manner. A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will not set because of this condition. If no DTC is set, inform the customer that the vehicle is operating as designed. If a misfire DTC is present, the DTC should be diagnosed first following the correct diagnostic procedure outlined in the Workshop Manual, Section 303-07B.
