Recall # 23V896 was sent to me on January 2024 and 14 months later still no parts available for the repair. Risk are the vehicle may roll in park and lose power while driving. I have already had one of the bolts break and it was replaced with a new defective bolt because replacements ( non - defective ) bolts were not yet available. Why is this taking over a year to resolve?

2015 Ford F150 XLT 2.7L, 6 speed auto, Crew CAB, short bed. Yes, you can inspect. Going down highway around 45-50 MPH, without warning or warning indicators, transmission suddenly downshifted, rear wheels locked momentarily, RPM's ran up high and vehicle slowed down abruptly in the middle of traffic. Wrench light on dash appeared and disappeared. About 5 minutes later driving on freeway, transmission would not automatically shift up to the next gear, stayed in a low gear for a minute, then finally shifted up. Vehicle is currently at Ford getting inspected. Did not drive the vehicle since the incident on 3-29-24, except to go to the Ford dealer.

On [XXX] I was pulling a trailer with a 1981 F150 home from Louisville, KY. When we enter onto the Interstate System and reached cruising speed by transmission indicator started jumping around switch between gear and downshifted very hard into first gear while I was navigating traffic - semi trailers and passenger vehicles around us. The truck then went into what I would call limp mood for several miles and we were unable to maintain highway speeds with nowhere to exit the interstate there in Louisville area. Eventually the truck regained normal power and we continued our journey back home to the St. Louis Missouri area. We had to stop several time out of fear to check engine oil, transmission fluid and engine temperature out of precautions. We were very stressed after this hard downshift that almost resulted in striking other vehicles on the interstate from the downshifting and rapid decrease in speed on the interstate. No warning light came on just the crazy shift indicator lights going haywire. The next day on [XXX] I was going to refuel and the transmission downshift again on me from 6 gear to first without warning. I took and dropped it off at a local shop for inspection and fixing. The problem was finally diagnosed as the transmission frame module and had to be replaced at a cost of over $900. I had to take it to another local shop here in the St. Louis Area who specializes in Transmission Repairs because my truck was out of warranty, CP Transmissions and Performance replaced the Frame Modular and told us to keep monitoring the status of recalls, but currently my 2016 did not fall under any. I am writing you now as I've seen several article indicating that my year has been noted as having this issue. I have the repair receipt on file and can share that information if needed. On the road when it occurred from Louisville, to St. Louis, not warning light were present. Only after the second occurrence did I finally get a warning light. - #11651815March 31, 2025ENGINE, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
2017 F-150 Platinum Supercrew 4WD Recently Purchased from dealership, drove for 2k miles and started having engine knock. Did research and found identical sound, Cam phaser knock/rattle. This is still a high priority issue and a known issue as it can cause engine failure and manufacturer is unhelpful and unwilling to investigate and/or offer guidance. I talked to dealership that preformed the “recall” previously and they stated that no part was replaced and ford issued a software update to use as a bandaid instead of a permanent repair. It will cost upwards of $6,000+ to repair through dealer and ford refuses to be of assistance. I am requesting that the NHTSA reinvestigate the issue and open back up a recall request to the general public due to it being a safety concern. If the engine implodes on the highway, it can cause a major accident and/or fatal injury to many drivers.

10 speed transmission shifted from 4 to 1 when I was trying to cross and intersection. It has also happened several times when I’m accelerating and hard shifts from the transmission cause my phone to fall and my body to jerk hard causing a ton of distractions in the cab while driving.

My cam phasers are always burning and consuming a lot of oil it also has a ticking sound coming from the engine which Ford says is normal but I don't think it's normal because it gets louder and it happens as I drive all the time. My transmission will automatically slam into a higher gear while trying to accelerate on the highway. Oil is constantly getting into the spark plug chamber even after replacement of seals.

Transmission seems to 'search' for the proper gear, delays in shifting, then violently and abruptly downshifts, with an EXTREMELY loud thud that can be unmistakably felt throughout the whole vehicle, alarming driver and occupants. Even children asked "what just happened"? Passengers believe a universal joint, rear axle, or other key drivetrain component has catastrophically failed. This seems to happen most often when accelerating, letting off of the gas pedal, then pressing the gas pedal again. Vehicle is equipped with a 10 speed automatic. This has been a recurring problem since purchased with approximately 23,000 miles on the vehicle.

Hello, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to follow up on an ongoing issue with my vehicle related to the recall 21B10. I recently purchased a 2018 F150 in November 2024, and I’ve encountered significant problems with the vehicle that I believe are tied to the recall. Specifically, the vehicle is experiencing issues with acceleration, which has made it unsafe to drive, especially on the interstate. When I took my vehicle to Ford in Mooresville, NC, they diagnosed the problem as an error code 21B10. Upon contacting Ford on March 28, 2025, I was informed that the recall had been addressed in February 2022. However, I was advised that the case cannot be reopened, and that it would need to go for review. Given the critical nature of the issue I am experiencing, I am concerned about my safety while driving the vehicle. The acceleration problems are a direct danger, and I cannot drive the truck on the interstate due to these issues. I would like to request that this case be reviewed immediately. I have all the necessary documentation from the 2022 recall repair and am happy to provide it for your reference. It is my hope that we can resolve this issue promptly, as it poses a significant safety risk. Please let me know how we can proceed to ensure that this matter is addressed as soon as possible. I look forward to your prompt response and assistance in resolving this issue. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I’m reporting that this recall repair is overdue and not completed in a timely manner. I was first alerted to the recall in December 2023. There was supposed to be a fix by the first quarter of 2025 and I’ve heard nothing. I have been driving a truck with a defective axle for 4 years. Rediculous!

NHTSA Recall Number 23V896 has had two promise dates from Ford that have come and gone. There is currently no updated information on when this will be fixed. There is no acceptable excuse for this. It's not that hard to resolve.

The factory-installed panoramic sunroof mesh air deflector is causing a water drainage issue. Water accumulates in the main channels, saturating the mesh and allowing it to retain moisture for an extended period. This prolonged dampness leads to mold growth, creating a health concern due to the mold odor inside the cabin after any rainstorm.

It’s been several times that I’ll be driving, sometimes on residential roads and once getting onto the highway. The transmission will suddenly drop down into first gear and I’ll have to limp off the side of the road until I’m going slow enough to be in first gear, then I can go again. Or I’ll lose 1,2 and 6th gears so I’ll have to pull over, turn the truck off and start it again. Then I’ll have gears 1-6 again.

Was driving at highway speeds when transmission unexpectedly shifted from 10th gear into first gear. It lurched the truck back hard, almost losing control. Speed was decreased and then brought back to 70mph. This is then when the truck shifted back from first into 10th held at 10th for a little bit and then did it again shifting from 10th into 1st lurching the truck back. The service light from the transmission came on after this. I pulled over and looked under the truck and saw it leaking transmission fluid. I then turned the truck off and on and put it back into gear and tried reverse, it didn’t go into reverse so I tuned it off and on again and reverse came back. I had the truck towed to a dealership where they inspected the transmission and replaced parts in it. After being there for 2 months waiting on the parts I finally got it back. I know Ford has had investigations in the past for the 6 speeds transmissions unexpectedly shifting. And I now know they’re being investigated again for newer models in the 6 and 10 speed transmissions.
