Some 2021-2023 F-150/Transit, 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may experience issues utilizing the Smart Hitch, ProPower Onboard or Onboard Scales features (if equipped) in the FordPass app. Symptoms may include inability to connect, incorrect data displayed in the app, no weight displayed, unable to power on/off the feature, unable to turn on generator mode (gas vehicles only). The connection for these features has been removed from the Android version of the FordPass app, and will soon be removed from the iOS version. The Smart Hitch and Onboard Scales will also be removed in a future FordPass release expected no later than March 1st, 2023. Full functionality of these features will remain in vehicle, but will not be controllable from FordPass. Advise the customer of the FordPass changes and do not perform any repairs for this concern.

Summary
Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with BLIS may experience inoperative blind spot monitoring with a Blind Spot System Fault message in the instrument panel cluster. This may also be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B118C:11 and/or B118C:15 stored in the driver door module (DDM), and/or B118D:11 and/or B118D:15 stored in the passenger door module (PDM). This may be due to the connector going from the mirror to the BLIS module (C576 for driver side, C676 for passenger side) having a pin out condition. To correct this condition, inspect the connector on the side experiencing the issue for a pin out condition and repair the circuit as necessary. Refer to Wiring Diagram, Cell 005, Connector Repair Procedures. If there is no issue with the connector or circuit, continue with normal diagnostics.

Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles may exhibit a condition of intermittent headlamp operation while the vehicle is off with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1533 stored in the body control module (BCM). This may be due to the internal logic within the headlamp switch. To correct this condition, replace the headlamp switch (service base part number 11654). Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 417-01. For claiming, use casual part 11654 and the applicable labor operations of Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles may exhibit all modules on the HS2, HS3, HS4 and MS CAN networks not responding to the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) and modules on these networks fail the network test. Modules on the FD1 and HS1 networks will communicate with the FDRS. Vehicles equipped with a power opening/closing tailgate may also exhibit an inoperative power tailgate. This may be due to a gateway module (GWM) that is not configured properly. To correct this condition, download and run the GWM - Gateway Module A (GWM) Configuration application. For claiming, use causal part number 14G490 and applicable labor times from Section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standard (SLTS) Manual.

To correct this condition, update the ABS module to the latest software level using the Ford Diagnostic and Repair System (FDRS). This DTC will not cause observable conditions or result from concerns with other vehicle systems. If any other ABS concerns are present, perform normal diagnostics. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-09 > Anti-Lock Brake System > Diagnosis and Testing.

2020-2022 Aviator/Explorer/Police Interceptor, 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 10R80 MHT transmission and built on or before 15-Nov-2022 may exhibit an 8th gear start after coming to a stop and/or a no movement in Reverse condition. This may be due to the driver applying the accelerator pedal and brake pedal simultaneously during regenerative braking. To improve the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) and refer the customer to the Automatic Transmission Section of the Owners Manual warning regarding applying both pedals simultaneously.

This may be due to a misalignment of the the door or hood and/or their strikers. Before attempting any component diagnosis or replacement, check the door and/or hood and their strikers for proper alignment. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-03 alignment procedures. If the doors and hood are properly aligned, continue with normal diagnostics.

Some 2021-2022 F150 vehicles may experience buttons or screens overlapping in the center display screen after an accessory protocol interface module (APIM) over the air (OTA) update. This may be due to an incomplete or partial OTA download. The APIM software update that addresses this concern may have been sent via Ford Power-Up software updates delivered OTA to connected vehicles that have automatic updates enabled through the center display screen. It is recommended that customers that have experienced this concern verify automatic updates are enabled and that the vehicle has been run long enough to receive updates via OTA. If the problem still persists after the vehicle has been run, use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the OASIS report and fill out the form.

Some 2018-2023 F-150, Expedition, Navigator, Transit, Aviator and Explorer vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0627, P025A, P025B, P00C6, P008A and/or U0109 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to an intermittent or partial disconnect of the harness to the fuel pump control module (FPCM) connector, connector pin push-outs, damaged pins/terminals, or loose/corroded grounds. Inspect FPCM connector, applicable grounds (F-150 - G401, Expedition/Navigator - G403, Transit - G401, 2018-2019 Explorer G302, 2020-2022 Explorer/Aviator - G407) and confirm FPCM connector (F-150 - C4336, Expedition/Navigator - C433, Transit - C433, 2018-2019 Explorer - C3239, 2020-2022 Explorer/Aviator - C4033) is fully seated prior to performing PC/ED diagnostics or replacing any components.

Some 2021-2023 F-150, 2021-2022 F-Super Duty, 2021-2023 Ranger customers may have concerns including, but not limited to: no power to the distribution box, rear camera inoperative, rear park assist inoperative, box lights inoperative, power up/down tailgate inoperative, unable to open tailgate by tailgate switch, and no tailgate ajar message when the tailgate is ajar. These concerns may be caused by faulty connections between the pickup bed, tailgate, rear lamp assemblies, or bumper where connectors are disconnected, damaged, or coated with bedliner. Prior to performing any warranty diagnosis or repairs, verify if the vehicle had an aftermarket spray-in-bedliner. Any repairs resulting from aftermarket products/installation, including but not limited to a spray-in bedliner, are not covered under warranty.

Some vehicles equipped with power folding mirrors may exhibit power folding mirrors that are inoperative or exhibit a clicking sound. This may be due to the mirrors being manually folded in, during transportation, going through a car wash, bumped in a parking lot, or found during pre-delivery inspection (PDI). Prior to the replacement of any components, attempt to synchronize the mirrors by following the Power Mirrors Synchronization procedure. This may be due to the exhaust tailpipe actuator valves rattling inside the muffler assembly. Summary
Some 2015-2023 F-150, 2017-2022 F-Super Duty, and 2019-2023 Ranger vehicles may exhibit dust ingress into the cabin through the doors or air extractors. This may be due to the climate control system being in recirculation mode as a result of the recirculation button being on or automatic strategies for heating/cooling efficiency. To minimize dust ingress when driving in off-road or secondary road conditions, make sure that all doors and windows are fully closed and the climate control system is switched to defrost on and the instrument panel and footwell air vents are switched to off. Temperature and fan settings may be adjusted as desired. Alternatively, max defrost can be activated which will adjust all settings automatically. Operating in defrost mode will keep constant air flow through the rear air extractors and other small areas, helping minimize dust ingress.

When diagnosing and repairing brake noise conditions, use the Workshop Manual (WSM) and the appropriate pinpoint test in section 206-00. The brake rotors should only be machined if directed by the WSM because one or more of the following conditions are present on the braking surface: scoring, excessive corrosion/rust or pitting, bluing/discoloration and/or heat spots.
