The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel made clicking sounds while turning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a loosened tie rod. The contact was informed that the steering rack needed to be replaced; however, the replacement part was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.

So while driving my car, no car infront of or anything running out in the road. Going 45 mph my car automatically slammed on brakes by itself. Causing the car behind me to swing around me to avoid hitting me in my rear. A similar situation happened back in May 2023 resulting me to put the car in the shop & was told it was corrected.

STEERING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
At Freeway speeds the vehicle unaccurately reads the lanes and begins steering the vehicle out of the lanes. When this malfunction occurs, the steering wheel becomes entirely loose for a split second then returns back to a solid state causing over steering, lane departure and unstability in steering. After the malfunction occurs the vehicle begins steering like a "ping-pong ball game" between the lines (inaccurately) never allowing you to regain a center of steering. You turn the wheel to correct the inaccurate direction the vehicle is pulling and the steering flips to the opposite side and does this continuously once malfunction occurs until vehicle is parked and restarted. The steering becomes incredibly unsafe and erratic once malfunction occurs and other motor's take notice by providing massive bubble of space even within heavy traffic conditions. When steering malfunction occurs the front wheel feel as though they are falling off the vehicle and the rear end drags outside of turn radius sometimes with the vehicle traveling in a straight line sideways a few degrees. I've attempted to address this major safety concern 7 times now and even had sensors factory warranted when the vehicle was throwing codes pertaining to the issue. The problem is still increasing prevalent, the vehicle feels incredibly unsafe to drive and the dealership is gaslighting the issue with no resolve since there is nothing mechanically wrong and it isn't throwing codes. The vehicle began malfunctioning just outside of lemon law rights so I have no choice but to continue driving this sole means of transportation death trap or accept $10k in loss still owed.

1. Engine malfunction/Transmission: Yes, the car is available for inspection upon request. 2. While driving the car on the road the car begins to hesitate and wanted to stall in moving traffic. Had to pull over vehicle over until it was safe to try and preceded. This problem has continued and now feeling no longer safe to drive on the road. We have a small child, and our car is our main mode of transportation and right now we are without transportation because of this faulty situation with the transmission and we definitely want to make sure that we have a safe vehicle for our family and not to cause an incident with other drivers due to the car stalling. Currently the car sits in the driveway. 2015 Nissan Sentra 89,575 3. Yes, the problem has been reproduced by a Nissan Dealer here in our area. 4. Vehicle was towed to a Nissan Dealership 5. Vehicle has been inspected by mechanic at Nissan. 6. No warning lights came on and prior to this we had not experienced any symptoms from the engine. First noticed maybe around last week of July

When driving my sensors are ringing off as if someone is in front of my car. The brakes will be pushed down stopping the car while driving. Also when driving you hear a loud clicking noise which I was told before its my tired rod. I replaced this tired rod once before when it snapped while driving before this recall was put out. I have complained numerous times to my dealership and they are not taking this matter seriously.

The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would jerk or stall upon the depression of the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the check engine warning light had appeared on the instrument panel. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle had gone into reverse after placing the gear shifter into drive(D). The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle related to the transmission. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. When driving the forward collision avoidance system acts up. It will randomly slam on the breaks when nothing is in front. It also happens when cruise control is on, it will slam the breaks with an empty road ahead. It also thinks that there is something ahead when the road is clear ahead. This needs to be looked at because the number of complaints in regard to this is silly.

The check engine light keeps coming on and it gives the code for a mass airflow sensor. I went to the mechanic, had them clean it for $126 and one year later my check engine light is back on with the same code. Online there are many people with the same vehicle stating they have the part replaced, and the same thing happens again with a check engine, light coming on giving that code. It states online if the car is dangerous to drive with this code being the mass air flow sensor. This needs to be a recall because this part is very expensive with labor ($4-$600) for this problem to keep re-occurring. Nissan needs to do something about this issue!!!!!

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
1. Automatic Emergency Braking - System - System Failed /or Malfunctioned Car is available for examination (28,000 miles) 2. Collision alert sounded, with warning indicator (red bar with two white bars below), Emergency braking triggered (no apparent ABS, but driver felt the vehicle decelerate), stopped the vehicle, and turned the vehicle engine off (electrical systems remained on). The vehicle was traveling on a city street at approximately 35 MPH at a slight incline, at dusk. No signs, pedestrians, other vehicles, or signs within visible distance present in front of the vehicle, or on either side of the road. There were no obstruction, debris, speed bumps, trees or pot holes on either side of the road within visible distance in front of the vehicle. Injuries may have occurred if another car was closely following, or could not stop in time. 3. The problem has been reported to the Suntrup Nissan (dealer from whom we purchased the vehicle) and Nissan Consumer Affairs (case [XXX]). The Consumer Affairs representative did not seem to understand the problem (initially thought it was ABS)or safety concern though (she said we should not worry as the vehicle was under waranty). We are awaiting a call back from the dealer though. However, in searching for an explanation we saw similar issues reported by a law firm (LemonLawExperts.com) 4. Vehicle has not been inspected. 5. This was the first such incident we experienced in the car. Other than the warning alert during the incident, there was no indication of this problem. The car had been in for routine service about a month ago though. At the service I mentioned the radio spontaneously turning off while traveling in a parking lot, and then turning back on a minute or two later in the same parking lot. To our knowledge the only repair work was a faulty window switch that was replaced. “INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).”

The CVT transmission failed again. It was replaced in Dec 2021 and now it has failed again. The safety of my 19 year old daughter was put at risk being she was 30 minutes away from home and with no prior warning the transmission failed as she was driving it. The car runs great outside of the transmission issues. We had to have the car towed to our local dealership. They did cfm that the transmission failed again. There were no indications that there was something wrong with the transmission. It was not lagging, it was running great. Nissan is fully aware of all the transmission issues they are having and they are not willing to help with the faulty transmission. This will be the 3rd transmission if we pay 6000.00 to have it repaired for it to fail again in less then 2 years.

2016 NISSAN SENTRA. When accelerating from red light on major multi lane highway, vehicle lost ability to accelerate and stalled in the middle of the road, brake pedal was difficult to press to stop vehicle rolling, and all vehicle dash lights illuminated. The vehicle was put into neutral and pushed across multiple lanes to the side of the highway. The vehicle was then towed to a Nissan dealership in the area. We were told that the fuel pump needed to be replaced at a cost of $1400. Mileage at time of failure was 51,573. Dealership said the fuel pump should last 100,000 miles.

CONCERN: This is the second time the engine does not shut off. All warning lights go off, unsteady steering wheel and odometer/odograph failed. This is not just a malfunction issue it is a severe safety concern. Back in January of 2023 it happen for the first time and was told Control Unit IPDM, Engine Room needed to be replaced and it was. But once again while driving the steering wheel went unsteady, all warning lights went off, odometer/odograph failed while on the road. This is an extremely safety concern. I bought the car brand new and as of now it has not been in any car accidents.
