The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while her son was driving at approximately 30-35 MPH, a yellow triangle warning light illuminated, and the vehicle independently applied the brakes forcefully and made a sharp left turn. The vehicle then rolled over twice and landed upside down in a ditch. The driver crawled out through broken glass. The contact stated that the air bags deployed as needed. The contact arrived at the scene and transported the driver to the hospital. The contact's son sustained lap belt bruises on the lower stomach and upper legs, a cut arm, neck, back, and rib pain, a neck contusion, and slightly forward-displaced C2 and C3 vertebrae. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed, inspected, and deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The dealer was contacted and informed that the vehicle might have experienced phantom braking. The contact was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact that a fee was required for a third-party investigator to retrieve data from the Event Data Recorder (EDR). The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

I purchased the vehicle [XXX] from CarMax. At that time, it had an active recall which the previous owner did not resolve. I brought the vehicle to Nissan of Irvine on [XXX], at which time they installed new stop lamp switch and rubber grommet. The car proceeded to work fine until it would not turn on at all, and I had to have it towed to the dealership on [XXX]. At that time, they diagnosed it again to be a faulty brake switch and replaced it then. The car worked fine until around August 2026, where it occasionally would not start (which is how it presented the other times). On [XXX], I took it to the dealership again due to the same reason and they diagnosed it again to be a faulty brake switch. They said it would not be covered under the warranty because the car was over by around 500 miles. They quoted the price of around $700 for the inspection, part and labor. I do not feel that I should be responsible for the issue since it was not taken care of correctly the 2 previous times I brought the car in. I also feel that the situation was not taken seriously. The service department even joked "haha, hopefully it doesn't happen again" (this was during the second time at the dealership). They also were not surprised that I was back with the same problem. They were extremely rude and condescending (the service consultant Randy and the service manager). At that time, I decided to not have them TRY to fix the problem for the third time and paid the $225 for just the inspection. I was able to drive the car until [XXX], at which time it did not turn on again and I had to have it towed to a different mechanic. At that time, he diagnosed it with the same issue, replaced the part and charged me $205. I would like to rectify this situation with Nissan without taking further legal action. When accelerating the RPMs jump and the car will not speed up. When trying to accelerate my car, it was not wanting to go.It kept jumping the RPMs between the 1 and 2. I did finally get a video of it.Doing what it has been doing the past week. today just happened to be where it was very prominent, and I was able to get a recording of it. The car struggles getting to 40Mph . But once I get there, it does hold its speed, but we'll struggle if I drop down below it.

So my seat pump which raises and lowers my seat went out and broke. Nissan has said it’s covered under warranty. It’s been 40 days since Nissan was first notified and they have my order on backorder. They refuse to give me a rental or park my car on their dealership lot while it awaits the part. The part is still on backorder for another estimated 2 weeks according to Nissan and they refused me a buyback and willingly and knowingly tell me to keep driving the defective vehicle. I have almost been in two car accidents form the lack of vision. I am [XXX] and can’t rent a car and the only people who can waive the rental is Nissan and they refuse that as well. The Attorney general and the BBB auto line has been involved and Nissan still refuses a viable solution. Instead preferring for me to drive the dangerous car. I have curb rash and paint scrapes on my vehicle as well from hitting curbs and bushes. I have told Nissan this countless times and they refuse to help. On XXX, I rented a 2025 Nissan Sentra SV (VIN: [XXX], Unit # XXX) from Fox Rent A Car at Las Vegas Airport under Rental Agreement # XXX. Upon conducting a post-pickup walk-around inspection, I discovered that both rear 205/60R16 tires have unsafe tread depth, with the left rear tire being severely worn and bald with less than 1/16" (2/32") of tread remaining. As a Class A CDL holder, I recognize providing a vehicle with multiple unsafe rear tires as an immediate safety hazard that poses extreme blowout, hydroplaning, and control-loss risks on public roadways. The vehicle was rented out in an unroadworthy condition by the commercial fleet operator. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The rearview backup camera system on my 2026 Nissan Sentra is malfunctioning. The camera image is extremely blurry and grainy, making it nearly unusable and preventing me from clearly seeing the area behind the vehicle when reversing. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request, and the camera malfunction can be demonstrated by placing the vehicle in reverse. The severely blurry and grainy backup camera image creates a safety hazard when reversing because I cannot clearly identify pedestrians, children, other vehicles, obstacles, or objects behind my vehicle. This significantly reduces my ability to safely maneuver in parking lots, driveways, and other areas where people or vehicles may be present. The camera is intended to assist the driver in detecting hazards behind the vehicle, but the poor image quality makes it nearly ineffective and increases the risk of a collision, property damage, or injury. I have contacted the dealership multiple times to report the backup camera problem and seek a resolution. The dealership has informed me that the issue is under "manufacturer review," but no resolution has been provided. The camera image can be observed when the vehicle is placed in reverse. I am requesting a determination of the cause of the malfunction and a permanent repair.

Premature CVT failure. On XXX the CVT transmission in my vehicle was replaced at 95,126 miles. I paid $4,754.00 for the repair. On XXX while traveling out of [XXX], the replacement CVT transmission failed suddenly on the highway. The vehicle lost power without warning, forcing me to immediately move onto the shoulder with hazard lights to avoid being struck by traffic. The mileage at the time of failure was 151,226. The vehicle was towed to the nearest Nissan dealership, where I paid $212.25 for a diagnostic. I was informed that the transmission had failed again and that I needed another replacement. The estimate for the new transmission and related services was $9,756.32, with the transmission replacement alone listed at $8,464.07. This would be the third CVT transmission for this vehicle. The second transmission lasted only 1,026 days (approximately 35 months), which is far below normal transmission lifespan. Nissan Consumer Affairs and Nissan Corporate both stated they could not offer any assistance, despite the premature failure and the safety risk created by the sudden loss of power on the highway. This is a repeated premature CVT failure that created a hazardous situation and appears to be consistent with known issues involving Nissan CVT transmissions. 2020 Nissan Sentra , had been affected, Fuel system and or transmission has been affected , I also communicated this with Nissan Consumers affairs on 9/1, case number(57016532) they didn’t bother to help. I also went to the dealer twice . They also were unbothered and monotone . It’s a safety issue since the car stalls in low speeds. CVT transmission is expensive and they don’t want to fix it . I want to give it back to Nissan or the bank .

- #11768165September 30, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I purchased this vehicle brand new in 2021. Since then, I have experienced a very concerning safety issue on multiple occasions involving the automatic emergency braking system. While driving normally, with the vehicle operating without any apparent problems, the emergency braking system has suddenly activated and warning lights have appeared on the dashboard, even though there was no vehicle, pedestrian, object, or other obstruction in front of me that would have required emergency braking. This has happened to me several times and is extremely frightening. During the most recent incident, the vehicle behind me had to quickly go around my car to avoid rear-ending me after my vehicle unexpectedly braked. After researching this issue, I found numerous reports from other owners describing what appears to be the same or a very similar problem. This makes me extremely concerned that this may be a widespread safety issue with this vehicle. Fortunately, when these incidents occurred, I was traveling at approximately 40 MPH. I am very concerned about what could happen if the emergency braking system were to activate unexpectedly while traveling on the freeway at 65 MPH or higher. Unexpected braking at highway speeds could potentially result in a serious rear-end collision, injuries, or fatalities. Given the number of similar complaints from other owners, I believe this issue warrants a thorough investigation. I strongly urge Nissan and NHTSA to investigate these reports and determine whether a safety recall is necessary before someone is seriously injured or killed. This is not simply an inconvenience or a minor mechanical problem. Unexpected emergency braking without an obstacle in the vehicle’s path presents a serious safety concern for the driver, passengers, and surrounding motorists.

The communication quality with the infotainment system does not work properly. Whenever you try to use Siri the audio cuts out and sounds distorted. This also happens during phone calls and it is a two way problem. You sound distorted to the person you’re calling and they also sound distorted to you. This problem happens with both wireless and wired connections as well as with and without Android Auto and CarPlay. This poses a serious and dangerous communication risk, especially during an emergency when you might need to call authorities or assistance. You would be required to manually disconnect your device’s connection from your car while driving which is both illegal and dangerous to perform during an emergency. This problem seems to be common amongst other drivers with the same car generation. The only fix that the dealership has proposed is to pay to update or to pay for a new system.

On XXX, while driving a 2026 Nissan Sentra rental with approximately 5,000 miles, I was traveling about 75 mph on a freeway in [XXX]. The vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly rapidly decelerated/braked and became disabled. I had no warning before the failure and was barely able to get partially out of the travel area. After stopping, the vehicle was effectively immobilized. I could not shift it into neutral or otherwise move it safely completely out of danger. The steering/wheels would not allow us to move the vehicle normally. During the incident, the vehicle displayed a message stating that a system/software update was required. During the update process, I was unable to operate the emergency hazard flashers, leaving the disabled vehicle without hazard lights while we were still dangerously close to freeway traffic. A law-enforcement officer observed us, turned around, and stopped behind the vehicle with his emergency lights activated. He attempted to assist us but was also unable to get the vehicle moved normally. No police report was made, but I retained the responding officer's business card and can identify him. After the vehicle completed at least part of the process it was performing, I was eventually able to get it moving and reach a safer location. Alamo was notified, and I ultimately exchanged the vehicle. The exact component/system that failed is UNKNOWN. I do not know whether the software/update condition caused or contributed to the failure, but I am reporting it because the update message and inability to use the hazard flashers occurred in connection with the incident. I have requested that Alamo preserve the vehicle and its electronic, diagnostic, telematics, and software/update data. There was no collision or physical injury, but the sudden deceleration at highway speed, immobilization near freeway traffic, inability to move the vehicle to safety, and inability to use the hazard flashers created a serious risk of a high-s INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S

The back up camera frequently goes blank when the car is put in reverse. This is a safety hazard as I can't see what is behind me when I am backing up. Upon further research, this is common in Nissan Sentras around this time but my specific car was not under the recall. There were multiple reports of faulty wiring causing the same issues. There were no warnings prior to this failure and it has been going on for over a year.

- #11765309September 18, 2026STRUCTURE:BODY, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Following a severe rainstorm, heavy water intrusion occurred inside the vehicle. The rear passenger floorboard and the interior of the trunk were completely saturated with water. Immediately following this water intrusion, the factory backup camera system completely failed and stopped functioning, creating an immediate rear visibility hazard when operating the vehicle in reverse. The vehicle was taken to an authorized brand dealership for inspection. The dealership confirmed that the backup camera module failed explicitly due to liquid/water damage, and the failed part is available for inspection. However, the dealership stated that all factory weather seals and body drains are clear and functioning perfectly. Because they cannot identify the engineering defect or source allowing water to bypass the structure, they denied warranty coverage. This is a significant safety concern as an unknown structural or body sealing defect is actively directing water into critical electrical safety components (the backup camera infrastructure), causing immediate equipment failure. The manufacturer has failed to identify the source of the leak or remediate the visibility hazard. No warning lamps or symptoms appeared prior to the failure.

I am reporting a potential safety defect involving my 2019 Nissan Sentra. In June 2025, when my vehicle had approximately 56,000 miles, the overhead console located in the ceiling of my vehicle suddenly detached and fell while I was driving. The console struck me in the face. This was completely unexpected and created a potentially dangerous situation because I was operating the vehicle at the time. A component falling from the ceiling and striking the driver could cause the driver to become distracted, lose control of the vehicle, or potentially cause a crash. After the incident, I examined the overhead console and found that the components/attachment points that secured the console to the ceiling had broken. The console could not simply be reattached because the pieces that held it in place had broken. I am concerned that this may represent a defect or failure involving the design, materials, or attachment system of the overhead console. I do not believe an overhead component should detach and fall onto the driver during normal operation of a vehicle. The failure has also created a financial concern. Because the overhead console is no longer properly secured, I have attempted to sell or trade the vehicle and have been told by dealerships that the condition significantly reduces the vehicle's value. I have been informed that thousands of dollars may be deducted from the vehicle's value because of this issue. I am requesting that NHTSA document and investigate this complaint to determine whether other 2019 Nissan Sentra vehicles have experienced the same or a similar overhead-console failure and whether this presents a safety defect. I can provide photographs of the broken attachment points and overhead console. 2019 Nissan Sentra Mileage at time of failure: Approximately 56,000 miles Date of failure: June 2025 Safety concern: Overhead console detached while driving and driver was struck in the face

I own a 2025 Nissan Sentra SR. Beginning around September 8, 2026, I began noticing multiple dark/brown oily fluid spots on my garage floor after parking the vehicle. The spots have appeared repeatedly and in multiple locations underneath the vehicle, indicating what appears to be an intermittent fluid leak rather than a single pre-existing stain. I photographed the fluid spots and documented the vehicle's mileage at approximately 35,142 miles. I scheduled the vehicle for service with the Nissan dealership on September 10, 2026, while the vehicle was still under the 36,000-mile basic warranty. I specifically reported the suspected fluid leak and showed/documented the evidence. The dealership inspected the vehicle but advised that they could not identify an active leak. Despite the dealership's findings, I am concerned because the fluid spots have repeatedly appeared after the vehicle has been parked. The fluid appears dark/brown and oily. I have not received an oil-pressure warning or other dashboard warning associated with the leak. I subsequently became aware that certain 2025 Nissan Sentra vehicles have been associated with concerns involving fluid leakage. My VIN currently does not show an open recall related to this issue. I am submitting this complaint so that my experience is formally documented and can be evaluated alongside reports from other 2025 Nissan Sentra owners. I am concerned that an intermittent fluid leak that is not detected during a dealership inspection could potentially worsen or result in a loss of fluid while driving. I have retained photographs of the fluid spots, mileage documentation, and dealership service records.

I own a 2025 Nissan Sentra SR. The driver's seat has abnormal movement and shifts/clicks while I am seated in the vehicle. The seat does not remain completely stationary and I can feel movement during normal use. After I became aware of a recall involving the driver's seat on certain 2025 Nissan Sentra vehicles, I brought my vehicle to Loyalty Nissan and specifically reported the driver's seat movement. The dealership inspected the seat and performed an adjustment/repair that I understood to involve tightening components associated with the seat. I do not know the specific components that were adjusted or tightened. Despite the dealership's inspection and attempted correction, the driver's seat continues to shift/move in the same manner. The problem has not been resolved. I subsequently confirmed that my VIN does not currently appear to be included in NHTSA Recall 25V-153 / Nissan Campaign PMA45. However, my 2025 Sentra is exhibiting abnormal driver's-seat movement similar to the condition described in that recall. I am submitting this complaint because the abnormal seat movement continues even after being inspected and adjusted by an authorized Nissan dealership, and because my VIN is not included in the existing recall population. I am concerned that vehicles outside the currently identified recall population may potentially experience similar driver-seat movement. I am requesting that this condition be documented and evaluated as a potential safety issue. I am also concerned about whether continued movement of the driver's seat could affect driver positioning or occupant protection during a collision.
