Related to PE23-023. 2022 Nissan Rogue with 77,000 miles first lost heating ability and then would stall and not start. Problem was diagnosed by an ASE Certified shop/tech. Diagnostic inspection revealed 2 quarts of coolant missing and contamination in the cylinders. To start the recommendation was to replace the EGR Cooler and Turbo, after reviewing similar complaints, I have chosen not to do the repairs as it doesn't sounds like it will fix the root cause and I am not inclined to replace the motor, turbo, Egr etc only for this to occur again. I plan to trade out of this vehicle at a significant financial loss and replace it to ensure the safety of my family. I would like to be a part of the investigation, if in the future Nissan is held accountable for this engineering failure I may be able to recoup some of my financial hardship.

Our vehicle stalled once while idle at an ATM. Upon restart we brought it to our local mechanic for investigation, they diagnosed the issue as a Turbo Sensor problem costing about $700. They recommended bringing it to Nissan for further review rather than charge us for the repair. We picked up the vehicle the next day and brought it to our local Nissan dealership where they confirmed it was in face the turbo causing the issue. After discovering this and quoting us a repair of $7,200 they did a pressure test overnight only to discover there was coolant leaking into the engine and that a new block will now need to be installed for the vehicle to work. The new cost is $11,500 to repair. The vehicle is a 2022 Nissan Rogue that we are the only owners with regular maintenance. When we dropped off the vehicle at both locations there was no check engine light on and there were no signs of engine failure. The Sales Manager went to check the vehicle and confirmed the engine no longer works.

The Propilot safety system shuts down after 40 miles. Nissan has sent out a super technician and states there is no cure. This has gone on since I purchased the vehicle over a year ago. Nissan still has no cure. The Propilot system utilizes cameras and radar to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead and keep the vehicle centered in its lane. Hi Chris, We drove the Rogue to Larned Saturday from McPherson on [XXX] . The cruise control shut off 4 times. Forward driving aids disabled. It took 5 to 10 miles each time to reset, then it worked without stopping or turning off the car. There was a lot of traffic and there are several towns we went through. I don’t think the sensors were bored from a plain path. The sensors were not dirty. Does Nissan have a cure for this? Thanks, [XXX] This appears to be a normal operating characteristic of this vehicle. This problem occurs when the radar has no feedback due to what they refer to as barren conditions. Once the radar receives feedback the system returns to operating normally. I understand your concerns and frustrations, however, we cannot repair a vehicle that is operating as designed. The contact owned a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH with the cruise control activated, the vehicle crashed into a deer that jumped into the middle of the roadway. During the crash, the vehicle was destroyed, but no air bags were deployed. The driver sustained a concussion, neck and back injury, which later required medical attention. The front passenger sustained a left knee injury, which did not require medical treatment. The daughter, seated in the rear passenger side seat, sustained a concussion, neck and back injury, and was transported from the crash site to the hospital. A police report was filed, and the vehicle was towed to the nearby salvage lot. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 112,000.

- #11653608April 9, 2025POWER TRAIN, WHEELS
Car had scheduled routine maintenance done on February 15, 2025 where tires were rotated and balanced. About a month later, the rear differential failed. Car only has 87,000 miles on it and was not driven in any excessive manner. Wheel bearings made noise for two days and then the differential failed before car was able to be seen by the repair shop. This is an example of a critical flaw in the differential and is extremely dangerous because it could have seized up while I was driving my daughter to preschool. Vehicle has inspection report from two different repair shops (one being the dealer) confirming failure of rear differential. No warning lamps, messages, or othe symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, only two days of noisy wheel bearings indicating they needed replacement. Nissan issued service bulletin NTB10-0291 regarding this problem but no recall has been ordered. When can I expect a recall?

Miles: 47,788 Started hearing noise under the car, noise increases the more I accelerate and becomes very noticeable and annoying. Went to Nissan to diagnose, seems the transfer case oil has metal shavings and is the cause of the load noise. Nissan recommends to replace the transfer case and transmission as they usually will go together. The damage is internal and there is no external sign of damage and no oil leaks from both transmission and transfer case. I explained since the damage is internal and I had no hand in causing this damage it must be a manufacturer defect. Nissan replied that the warranty expired on July 2024 and will not be able to cover this damage and asked me to replace both transmission and transfer case for $15k.

The Forward Collision Warning Light keeps flashing on the dash. It will not go away. It came on randomly. The FCW sensor looks okay from a quick glance. Wanting Nissan to issue a recall for this super common and annoying issue that puts us at risk for random breaking.

The OK button on the steering wheel collapsed in causing the dash menus to choose random settings and turn them on or off. In the dash selection, controlled with this, is the crash detection on the vehicle, causing the menu to cycle through and turn off and on these settings also. There’s blind spot, alarms, lane departure, driver assistance, and backup sensors. There’s vehicle’s safety features are controlled in the dash menus. The cruise control button is also sticking resulting in the cars speed to change whenever. This is a known issue with Nissan but still refuse to do anything about it after the bumper to bumper warranty period is over, even though it includes safety features. They also want us to pay $170 dollars just for them to say “yes the bottons are broken.” Several forums have confirmed this is a problem that Nissan is well aware of. Someone mentioned their 2023 went through 3 steering wheels because of this issue and it was within the warranty period, so Nissan replaced the steering wheels (you can’t just replace the button modules).

AC stopped working after winter passed even though AC button is on. Told no fluid leaks or other known issues. Was told IPDM needs replacement due to A/C INOPERATIVE WITH DTC B20C8-14 STORED IN THE IPDM E/R. Have found several other people online having the same problem. Nissan stating problem is only part of a service bulletin and therefore not a recall. Requesting further review/investigation since it seems to be a common issue on this model and in my opinion should be a recall. I understand my opinion and facts of further investigation may not prove as such but without the complaints how would you know. Thank you

buttons such as the selector wheel on the left side of the steering wheel stick and it keeps wanting to cycle through settings because of it. There is no way to pop it back out, and it remains stuck. From reading online many people have had this issue and the only thing Nissan will do is offer to supply you with a new steering wheel. One person has a 2023 and they are on their third or fourth steering wheel because of this issue and Nissan will do nothing to fix it. it is ridiculous that cars this now have this problem and people keep having to pay for out-of-pocket. We are shortly outside of our warranty and are stuck dealing with this now.

Liftgate closes while people are still behind the car. When loading/unloading items from the back of the car, the liftgate will close on you while you are still behind the car. The gate pins you between it and the rear bumper. This issue is predictable and repeatable. The dealership/Nissan has not yet confirmed this is an issue and my personal vehicle has not been inspected for this particular issue. There are no warnings of any kind prior to, during, or after this issue occurs. I bought the car brand new and the issue presented itself the very first day I owned it.
