2023 Nissan Rogue constantly smells of gas fumes on the interior. I have had my vehicle in numerous times over the last few months because the fumes are making me lightheaded to the point that I need to pull over and I constantly have headaches. I have a complaint filed with Nissan and their "fix" is to compensate me for my inconvenience with no genuine concern over the fact that this is causing health issues. They released a new supposed fix which is a replacement of another hose. I'm concerned about my health but also the safety of myself and others while I'm driving due to feeling so lightheaded.

The back-up camera on my car no longer functions. When put in reverse, the back-up area appears gray and there is an X in it. The birds-eye view portion works on the sides and front, but the back is also gray and has an X in it. Other 2021 Nissan Rogues were recalled for this problem happening around the 50,000 mile mark. Mine was not one of them but I am thinking it probably should have been. No accidents have happened and I do know how to use mirrors to back up but this should not be happening. I would not report it if I had not seen that thousands of2021-22 Nissan Rogues had been recalled for this issue. I am putting the date as 5/1/25, but this happened intermittently when it was windy so I thought it had something to do with the wind. It completely stopped working on 5/1/25.

The airbag passenger light has been showing off for about 2 years and on 4/30/25 showed the passenger air bag on the main panel in red color. I bring it today 5/2/25 to the Nissan dealer and they said is not a recall and they didn’t fix it. I been reading that actually is a recall and something can explode and is not recommended to drive the car under this sing.

The A/C does not work on the driver side making it impossible to defrost the windshield. The passenger side of the windshield defrosted, but not the drivers side making the vehicle impossible to drive as there was no vision for the driver. My mechanic had to disassemble the entire dashboard and found that the small plastic nob that allows the inside control to turn the air on and off had worn down. In order to drive safely, he removed the worn out piece and now the heat stays on 90 degrees and to have it turned off, he has to dismantle the entire dashboard. My husband got a quote from a dealer a year prior to his demise and it would have costs $4,000. So we resorted to drive his 2020 Nissan Rogue instead and left my vehicle parked most of the time. Now that the weather is 85+ I have to drive a vehicle that is blowing 90 on the driver and cannot be driven when raining because of the amount of steam generated due to the high temperature. At the current rate I have to have this procedure done twice a year just to drive the vehicle. I have found several videos on YouTube regarding the problem with Nissan Rogues and this particular issue. However, I can find no recall to help remedy the problem. Therefore, I am asking that Nissan find a permanent solution to this problem and have it fixed at Nissan expense. Thanks.

Complete engine failure. My wife broke down on the side of the road. Was told it was a Turbo Charger failure that then allowed coolant to get into the engine. Was further told it needs a new Turbo Charger Assembly as well as various other parts for the engine that were damaged as a result. Happened with only 39k miles on the vehicle.

The passenger side air bag shows as off when someone is sitting in the seat. This was a recall issue on other model Rogues and this is a serious safety hazard. Nissan should be making this a recall for other model years!

- #11657837April 30, 2025UNKNOWN OR OTHER, SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The backup camera picture/screen has randomly cut out while backing up putting myself and whatever is behind me at risk for collision. In the section where it asks for the date, it's happens randomly since I bought it. Whenever I've taken it to my mechanic they have not been able to reproduce it. The emergency braking system has activated with nothing around. It's in the dealers now. It was listed as a recall on a RI safety but not associated with my vin so the nissan dealer is saying that it's not covered under recall because it shows only the brake recall. the software update is costing me 169. He says that it should fix both problems.

The sunroof exploded while on the expressway going 75mph. At first after hearing the loud explosion, I thought it was a blowout tire. Almost got hit by two cars as I was pulling over .I took the car to the Nissan dealership and I was told I would have to leave the car there while they contact Nissan and send them pictures.

My 2023 Nissan Rogue had recorded tread wear from 3 mm to 4 mm of tread left from my maintenance printouts I received from my dealer that started at around 16,000 miles (November 2024) despite having my vehicle serviced at a Nissan Service facility as per the recommended maintenance schedule from Nissan Motors. This was a potentially very dangerous situation with possible snow conditions that are associated with New England Winters. My tires were also rotated on a regular basis as well as per the recommended maintenance schedule for my 2023 Nissan Rogue. The tires that came with my car orignally were the Dunlop GrandTrek. I waited as long as I could to purchase a new set of tires because they were costly and I didn't have the money. My total bill came out to around $1,300 which included a recommended four wheel drive wheel alignment.

The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, there was an abnormal squeaking sound coming from the steering wheel while turning. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was determined that the ball joint needed to be greased. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that an alignment was needed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the vehicle was undrivable. The vehicle was not repaired. - #11655596April 19, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The forward collision warning sensor went out while driving. Took it to Granite Nissan in Rapid City, SD. They replaced it after a year of waiting on the part. The day after it was repaired, it went out again. They said they have no idea on how to fix the problem. This issue is very dangerous when it is icy outside. When the sensor goes out the car is very unstable. You can only drive at 25 MPH and that's pushing it. It seems like the car is trying to apply the brakes to all four wheels at once. The cruise control goes out and it is hard to maintain your speed with the pedal.

Complaint Summary: I am filing a safety complaint regarding the CVT transmission failure in my 2017 Nissan Rogue, which occurred at just 49,000 miles—well below what would be expected for a critical drivetrain component. This failure happened suddenly and without warning while I was driving out of state on a highway with my [XXX] and [XXX] children in the vehicle. The car lost power and stranded us on the side of the road, creating a dangerous and stressful situation. I have since been quoted $6,000 for a replacement transmission, which is an excessive cost for a vehicle with such low mileage and no prior transmission issues. Nissan has refused to offer any goodwill assistance, despite known widespread issues and prior class action lawsuits concerning defective CVT transmissions in their vehicles. This failure represents a serious safety hazard, especially considering how it occurred while traveling at highway speeds. I strongly urge NHTSA to investigate the prevalence of CVT transmission failures in the 2017 Nissan Rogue and other similar models, as this issue appears to be systemic and potentially life-threatening.
