2024 Nissan Rogue SV. Traveling home from [XXX] we were just out side of [XXX] and traveling about 60mph down the lovely [XXX] . Sunny and 40 degrees, had just driven through rain/snow and then the skies cleared up and sun came back out. All of a sudden, BAM! Sounded like something large had hit the roof but we were not under any trees and there were no other vehicles nearby. I slowed down then noticed in the rear-view the back window was shattered, but still mostly intact. By the time I was able to get to safe place to pull over some of the pieces started to fall inside. I pushed the remaining glass inside and went to Walmart and bought duct tape and plastic to make it the remaining 1.5 hours home. It's my wife's company car. The contact owns a 2025 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal banging sound coming from the vehicle. In addition, the vehicle jerked back and forth and was shaking abnormally. The check engine warning light was illuminated. There was white smoke coming from the exhaust. The contact attempted to drive the vehicle to the shoulder of the road, and the engine seized. While attempting to restart the vehicle, the vehicle failed to restart. The contact stated that after several attempts, the vehicle restarted. The vehicle was driven a short distance, and the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was repeatedly restarted and driven short distances until the vehicle was onto the shoulder of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the recall repair could not be performed because some of the parts were unavailable. The contact stated that the vehicle was used for transporting an elderly Aunt and nephew to medical appointments. The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

While operating my 2023 Nissan Rogue, the panoramic sunroof exploded outward without any external impact. The incident occurred under normal driving conditions with no debris strike, collision, or environmental hazard. The explosion produced a loud sound consistent with owner reports in past Nissan sunroof cases, often described as similar to a "gunshot." The Glass front the sunroof rained down on myself, my wife, and our child. A Police report was taken of the incident as well as an insurance claim. This incident could have resulted in serious physical harm to myself, my passenger, and or other motorist had the glass gotten into my eyes as being the driver and possibly losing control of the vehicle and possibly hitting another motorist. This also could have caused injury to the passengers' eyes as glass was flying into the vehicle with the air from the outside was rushing into the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, engine oil sprayed all over the engine. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who replaced the engine under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the failure recurred two days later, resulting in a loss of drive power while driving. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, who determined that the spark plugs had failed, causing engine damage and low compression in several cylinders. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced for the second time. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but refused to replace the engine a second time, free of charge. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. The VIN was unavailable.

The rear windshield on my Nissan Rogue shattered suddenly without any impact while the vehicle was parked. The glass appeared to explode outward. I later discovered other owners have reported similar issues with Rogue rear windshields shattering unexpectedly. I had to replace the glass immediately for safety and paid out of pocket for the repair. I am concerned this may be related to a defect in the rear glass.

While driving my 2023 Nissan Rogue (approximately 51,000 miles), the vehicle completely lost all electrical power twice. The first incident occurred on Wednesday while stopped at a traffic light, and the second occurred on Friday afternoon after parking the vehicle; in the second instance, it would not start and had to be towed to the dealership. Prior to the failures, the vehicle displayed CVT Malfunction and MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) warnings, which the dealership was made aware of. When the vehicle was brought to the dealership (Keating Nissan), they identified a fatigued negative battery terminal and cable assembly as the cause. They performed a temporary adjustment, but stated that the repair is not permanent and may require replacement. Only days before these incidents, the dealership performed a multi-point inspection where the battery was marked as passing inspection. Because the vehicle lost all power while driving, this was a serious safety concern, putting me, passengers, and others on the road at risk. The vehicle can be inspected by the dealership upon request. I do not feel confident that the root issue has been permanently resolved, and I am concerned given the age and mileage of the vehicle that such a failure occurred so early. I would appreciate assistance reviewing this situation, confirming the appropriate permanent repair, and advising on options for support given the safety concern.

My 2022 Nissan Rogue VC-Turbo has progressively worsening engine knocking and vibration since ~30,000 miles. Dealer documented: “Found variable compression ratio actuator to be making noise” (see repair order). Symptoms persist at idle, acceleration, and when warm. Recall 25V-437 is marked complete, but the actuator continues to make noise, indicating the defect is not fully remedied. Nissan Consumer Affairs offered 50% financial assistance toward the actuator repair (email attached), and the dealer requested a diagnostic fee, which I have not paid and formally dispute, as the inspection relates to a potential safety defect. The actuator controls the internal multi-link compression system connected to the crankshaft, Progressive knocking and vibration may indicate stress on internal bearings and failure could lead to loss of engine power or engine seizure while driving, creating a serious safety risk. Vehicle is originally owned, maintained at Nissan dealerships, and has a branded title solely for cosmetic hail damage, with documentation confirming no structural or mechanical impact. I request NHTSA record this complaint, evaluate potential safety defect, and consider further investigation. I can provide repair orders, service records, and videos of the noise if needed.

The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle went into LIMP Mode and decelerated to approximately 10 MPH. The message "Engine Malfunction" was displayed. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle was restarted, but failed to respond while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine had failed due to the failure of the camshaft and three other unknown parts around the camshaft. The dealer determined that the failure was not related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) because the engine had not failed due to rod bearing failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered a 70 percent reduction in the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle was a dealer sale. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy on a Carfax Report and an oil change sticker. The contact researched prior to the purchase and was made aware per a Carfax report that the mileage was 59,545; however, at the time of the registration the mileage was approximately 54,644. The contact stated that the correct mileage was unknown.

I rented this vehicle from Hertz Rental Car in December. It was a replacement for the Nissan Sentra I rented that had a passenger door that kept getting stuck due to the door panel being loose. On December 23, 2025, I called roadside and told them that the tire light was on,n and I had to put air in the car to fix a flat and get home. I was told by the roadside that because I didn't purchase roadside through them, I would be charged. I explained to the man that all four tires were bald. He told me it couldn't be authorized. I ended up using my aAAAtwice. I was told by them and the emergency mobile tire repair people that the tires were no good. I had to drive on those tires through the rain and snow with my children. I couldn've hydroplaned or hit someone. They did put an inspection hold on the vehicle, but nobody checked; they just asked me if I got it fixed and continued to rent it out to me. I spoke with the manager of the location who previously told me that I may be charged for the tire because I didn't have roadside assistance and he said he charged the madison heights location for it. So that's proof I was not at fault and paid over a thousand dollars for a vehicle that was not safe for the road.

My 2023 Nissan Rogue experienced engine problems beginning in August 2025. The vehicle started having difficulty starting and the engine was not operating normally. In September 2025 the engine completely failed and the vehicle became inoperable. Because the engine failure required a major repair that I could not afford, the vehicle was eventually repossessed. I later discovered that my VIN ([XXX]) is associated with an engine-related recall involving bearing failure and engine damage risk. The recall description matches the exact mechanical problem my vehicle experienced before the recall was announced.
