The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while her son was driving at an undisclosed speed, he heard an abnormal popping sound before the passenger’s side rear window shattered. The vehicle was taken to a repair facility and the window was replaced. While the contact was driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a popping sound, and she became aware that the driver’s side front window cracked and fell into the door frame. There were no reported injuries. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 102,226.

As I was driving, steadily pressing on my gas, and I felt the car stopping. The car sounded like it was in neutral and I was pressing on the gas but it didn’t make a difference. I pulled over put it in park, then drive again. The problem persisted. I turned off the car and then it drove regularly. This has occurred 2 times already. I use premium gasoline and get oil changes regularly. This seems like a transmission problem. I’m very scared this might happen when I’m on a highway.

The car seems to keep slipping into neutral while I am driving. If it’s right when pulling away, It shows the drive light is lit up, I am able to accelerate a little bit, and then I suddenly hear the loud rev of the engine, like when it’s in neutral. And I have to shift it into drive again(all while the light never appeared in neutral, it remained in drive) It’s also happened while already driving. I might stop at a light or stop sign, and when I go to accelerate again to drive away, it will make that same sound and I have to push it back into drive, and the light will remain in drive the whole time. I just purchased this vehicle, used. And it’s starting to make me feel very unsafe on the roads.

I first started noticing this transmission acceleration problem about a year ago when my vehicle has been in stop-and-go traffic for at least 30 minutes or more, the transmission feels like it is going to stall. Pressing on the gas won’t accelerate the vehicle or it is very slow to start moving no matter how hard the gas pedal is pressed. The rpm speeds to 4-5 x1000 but the transmission gear feels stuck at 40mph max. Usually I have noticed that if I am able to pull over and stop the car for a few minutes, I can restart the car engine and didn’t’t see signs of the problem again. My husband believes it’s a transmission and gear shift problem that once the Rogue has been in stop-and-go traffic the system isn’t shifting gears correctly. It put myself and my husband at risk since we took the vehicle on a road trip, my husband finally witnessed this happening. It usually only happened to me when I’m coming home sitting in traffic. When I got off the freeway to surface streets, being stuck at stoplights or stop signs had this issue occur a couple of times. I took my vehicle to my local Nissan dealer for inspection but the tech. said they couldn’t mimic/reproduce the problem/issue I was reporting. No other inspection has been made. And no warning lights came on during the problem the few times it has happened. The engine was really loud this most recent time because I was unable to stop and pullover right away. I am open to having my vehicle inspected further for this issue.

Friday, March 24, 2023 AM: Returned to parked Rogue after an 1.25 hr appt and found the cabin reeking of a fuel smell. No fuel leaks under vehicle to explain smell. Smell dissipated some after driving for 10 mins at low speeds with outside air circulation on. Smell fully left cabin while driving at highway speeds for 15 mins with outside air circulation on. Sunday, March 26, 2023 AM: Returned to parked Rogue after 2 hr Church to find cabin filled with a fuel smell. Again, no leaks noted under vehicle. Drive home decreased the smell at highway speeds with outside air circulation on, but this was after the entire family had already become ill from the smell while driving through town at lower speeds. Stopped at parent's house briefly and left engine running; husband had to turn engine off and roll windows down, as the fuel smell entering the cabin became really strong and was making husband and son ill again. Noted the fuel smell emanating from all around the vehicle for several hours after getting home, with the strongest smells coming from the engine area. Monday, March 27, 2023 AM: Brought vehicle back to dealership, 70+ mile drive, to have their service center look at it due to health and safety concerns. No fuel smell detected when entered vehicle before journey, drove down with recirculated air on, and only detected a faint fuel smell coming from the engine compartment upon arrival at service center. Performed a visual inspection, specific fuel & emissions system exam, complete high pressure fuel system test, fuel leak/odor pinpoint diagnostic. No failed or defective components found. They were "unable to verify the customer's concern of fuel odor at this time." Mfg service bulletin found on issue; no repair options yet. Fuel smell now constant, whether parked or driven. Recirculate air only used. Can't open windows without smell entering. Continued concern for health/safety.

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the message "Engine Failure, No Power, Service Immediately" was displayed and the vehicle stalled. Moments later, the vehicle restarted, and the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the forward distance sensor had failed which caused the vehicle to stall and the sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,200. The consumer stated the dealer will not inform her if the part is available.

MY 2013 NISSAN ROGUE S 2.5L 4CYl GAS QR25DE IS HAVING A CLOGGING WATER LEAK ISSUE. I STARTED EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE OVER 6 MONTHS AGO UPTIL NOW FOR MY SUV. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE HAVING THAT LEAK IN MY PASSENGERS FRONT SIDE COMING OUT FROM MY OPEN ROOF AREA AND WETING MY INTERIOR CAR FRONT FOOT MATS AND STINCTS. THE LEAK FLOWS OUT UNDER MY VEHICLE, THERE BY, WATER GUSHES OUT WATER UNDER MY VEHICLE, LIKE A TAP WATER RUNNING OUT. I HAD TAKEN IT TO A MECHANIC WORKSHOP 6 MONTHS AGO & STILL EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE OVER AGAIN. AFTER UNCLOGGING IT, IT COMES BACK CLOGGED BACK AGAIN. I NEED HELP FOR RECALL OR ANYHOW THAT NHTSA WILL HELP TO CONTACT NISSAN TO TAKE CARE OF IT, SO IT BE FIXED PROPERLY, NOT UPTO A YEAR I BOUGHT THIS CAR. I'M NOT HAPPY THAT NISSAN PRODUCTS FOR OPEN ROOF WILL BE HAVING THIS ISSUE & PEOPLE COMPLAINS IT ALSO AS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE MAKE & MODEL. THANK YOU!

The contact was able to drive to his destination. The contact also stated the vehicle intermittently failed to properly shift into gear. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. I purchased this vehicle from carmax in November. I didn't even have it for a month and there quite a few things wrong. When I took it back to the dealership they "Couldn't recreate the problem" but wouldn't Give me Back my car. They kept it for 6 months. In that time they ended up doing a bunch of repairs, including putting in a new transmission. I have not had it back for a full week and driving to work it was very resistant to go at all. I made the mistake of getting on the freeway, where I couldn't get off until the next exit. My rpms went to and stayed at 6000 and I had no idea why and my crashing car with a star Symbol was illuminated,(and still is) for the whole way. I got off the freeway turned off my car. Turned it back on hoping this would fix the problem and drove less than 20 miles per hour the entire rest of the way to work. Even at 20 miles an hour. My RP m's were at 6000 and we're not even trying to go down.

I am joining the many others in reporting a very strong fuel order (raw gasoline) that enters the cabin and when parked in the garage, spews tons of raw gasoline fume, which I believe could eventually cause fire/explosion. This makes the SUV very difficult to be inside and drive. We do have the 3cyl turbo engine. Current mileage is approximately 3200. Dealer reports unable to verify and cannot proceed due to the SUV being in "engineering status".

The ignition key on the jack knife key fob unlocked itself into the folding position, which pulled the key out of my vehicle's ignition while I was in motion on a freeway going approximately 60 mph on highway 99. My whole vehicle suddenly began slowing down without me realizing what had happened. I was able to safely pull to the side of the road and discovered the jack knife key fob had unlocked hanging downwards forcing the ignition key to come halfway out of the ignition. No warning lights went off.

The heat and air conditioning unit having intermitant issue. Last year after 8 hr. Drive in 108 degree weather the air cond. unit started blowing luke warm, after air was turned off for 1 hr. It started working.Then stopped again several hours later. Then turned off again for 1hr. Then worked again.this problem still continues, as well as heater doing the same thing.Took to dealer they said they could not replicate the problem.Said i should bring in when it totally breaks.

The automatic transmission CVT is jerking when accelerating and it is a problem when in traffic. This could cause an accident. It is a risk to use. No other vehicle and have to work. I will continue to use it. Took it to AAMCO and repairs are over $5000.00 and can't afford it. New transmission or repair the one on the vehicle.
