On 06/20/2026, the same day I leased this new 2026 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, at 29 miles it displayed a "Power Steering System Hot - Performance May Be Limited" warning followed by an "Electric Power Steering Fail" warning. The Jeep mobile app and an email from Jeep Service both logged an Electric Power Steering failure that day and stated continued operation with reduced steering assist could pose a safety risk and to contact a dealer as soon as possible. The failed system is the electric power steering; the vehicle is available for inspection on request. On 06/23/2026 the selling dealer confirmed the problem by factory scan, recording stored fault codes in the electric power steering module (C2129-16) and related steering/cluster modules (B11C1-13 and U1464-00), plus numerous low/under-voltage codes, with system voltage as low as ~7.4V. The dealer characterized it only as "low battery voltage," reported no problem found, and performed no repair; their only action was to charge the 12V battery by driving, and the power steering connector was not inspected or replaced. The same "Power Steering System Hot" warning reappeared within about 10 minutes of leaving the dealer after that visit, which I documented on video, confirming the problem was not resolved. The manufacturer has not yet inspected the vehicle. These symptoms match Recall 26V363 and NHTSA investigation PE24024 concerning the electric hydraulic power steering pump connector overheating and causing fires, including while parked and off. This vehicle is a 2026, which appears to fall outside the currently published recall years (2021-2025); I am reporting it so a model-year 2026 incident is on record. The safety risks are loss of steering assist while driving and potential fire, including while parked and off. I park in a shared garage. No crash, fire, or injury has occurred... yet.

I took my car to the dealership to complete the 04b recall. When I got my car back from this recall: 1. The car says driving in electric mode but it uses gas. 2. The car while driving on the highway will hesitate for a split second.. very dangerous. 3. When going on a small hill(example: bridge on turnpike over griffon road) will all of a sudden hesitates and will not get any more power. 4. Multiple times when getting off the turnpike the car slowed to 20mph and would not go any faster for about 15 seconds.. all this while in electric mode.. even more dangerous... I took the jeep back to the dealership, they have had the car for 6 weeks and acknowledge the problems..but Stellantis keeps saying this is normal.. not normal, did not happen before the recall.

Since that update, when driving in standard Electric mode, the vehicle experiences a sudden loss of power, hesitation, and a physical 'bogging down'. Following this, the vehicle abruptly surges into combustion engine mode, causing a sudden and unpredictable acceleration lurch just after the vehicle has hesitated to accelerate. It poses a hazard for rear-end collision, attempting to pick up speed (e.g., to pass or move from a vulnerable position) and overall maneuvering and operation of the vehicle.

2023 JEEP Wrangler Sahara 4xe has been recalled several times for battery potential fire risk issues due to faulty hi voltage battery design. Each time, a software patch was applied to provide a 'fix'. With my engineering background, I am very sensitive to machinery and its behavior. I have noticed with each successive update, the power output of the traction battery has been capped or limited to restrict maximum current draw from the battery to prevent over heating. With the latest 68C recall, there is now a clear safety issue. Power is restricted so much, pulling on a highway is dangerous. As I accelerate, battery output climbs to 50%, the engine comes on and there is a significant pause before acceleration can resume safely. Under battery only acceleration, the car bogs down with loss of power. The 4xe no longer resembles the vehicle I purchased. Jeep needs to do a physical remedy to restore original specs or buy back the car, 100% of purchase price. This is a clear safety issue. While Jeep has tried to fix the fire risk, they have created a new safety hazard.

Since the 68C recall from Jeep, my vehicle has not been functioning properly. The 68C recall was issued because the high-voltage battery cells have a defect that causes them to short-circuit and catch fire. To avoid replacing hundreds of thousands of expensive batteries all at once, Jeep implemented a "fix" via a software flash. The new software "fix" heavily restricts how much power can be drawn from the high-voltage battery to keep it from getting warm. If you push the pedal enough to draw more than roughly 40–50% power—or if the battery temperature hits a strictly lowered threshold—the software abruptly chokes the electric motor and fires up the ICE engine to compensate. Because the electric motor just lost its punch, the computer frantically fires up the gasoline engine to make up the difference. Because there is an inherent delay while the gas engine starts up and matches the transmission speed, it engages with a sudden, frustrating lurch or surge. This is just one of the many problems i have found since jeeps "fix" has been implemented. Basically Jeep elected to reduce the capacity of the battery to avoid costly replacement of the real issue with the battery. This has resulted in a driving safety concern with the surging and hesitation. Also now I can no longer drive exclusively in the electric mode; electric mode is basically non-existent.

I have a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug in hybrid. When I first got the vehicle I could drive in the electric mode without kicking over to the gasoline mode. The manufacturer issued a recall for the battery due to fire danger. I had an update 68c performed by the dealer to address the recall issue. Upon getting my Jeep back I can no longer drive in the electric mode without the Jeep surging into and out of the gas mode. This happens at different times, slow speeds or fast speeds. The jeep does hesitate or bogs down prior to engaging the gas mode. The "Bogging" Sensation: When the software chokes the battery, the vehicle experiences a sudden drop in power. This is the hesitation or "bogging down" you feel. The Violent Engine Surge: Because the electric motor just lost its punch, the computer frantically fires up the gasoline engine to make up the difference. Because there is an inherent delay while the gas engine starts up and matches the transmission speed, it engages with a sudden, frustrating lurch or surge. RE: SAFETY COMPLAINT FOLLOWING RECALL 68C (NHTSA Recall Number 24V-111 / Mopar 68C) I am the owner of a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe. Prior to having safety recall 68C performed, the hybrid system functioned flawlessly. Immediately upon receiving the vehicle back from the dealership after the 68C software flash, a severe drivability and safety hazard emerged. When driving in standard Hybrid/Electric mode, the vehicle experiences a sudden loss of power, hesitation, and a physical 'bogging down' sensation. Following this lag, the vehicle violently surges into gasoline mode, causing a sudden and unpredictable acceleration lurch after the vehicle hesitates to accelerate. This behavior occurs randomly at both low neighborhood speeds and highway speeds, making it impossible to smoothly modulate throttle input. This creates an immediate safety hazard when attempting to pull out into cross-traffic, merge onto highways, or maintain a safe, predictable following distance. The vehicle hesitates when throttle is demanded, creating a risk of being rear-ended, followed by an uncommanded surge. The dealership states the vehicle is 'operating as designed' according to a regional Jeep field engineer, implying this dangerous lag-and-surge behavior was intentionally introduced into the vehicle's management software by the manufacturer to mitigate, the recall notice noted above, battery thermal risks at the expense of occupant driving safety. The manufacturer’s recall remedy has traded a fire risk for an active moving traffic hazard." Several forums and AI searches show this is a common problem the manufacturer has created to avoid a costly recall by addressing the real issue with the battery’s fire risk. Instead they have intentionally reduce the battery’s performance causing a safety issue with the vehicle’s acceleration and operation.

I have also recently learned that there is an active recall affecting this vehicle, of which I was not previously notified. 1. The vehicle caught fire during normal operation. It is a 2021 Jeep Wrangler (VIN [XXX]) subject to FCA US Recall 21D / NHTSA Campaign 26V363000, which identifies the electric hydraulic power steering (EHPS) pump and its wiring as a fire source that can overheat and ignite. The exact failed component has not yet been confirmed by diagnostic, but the fire is consistent with the defect described in that recall. The vehicle is intact and available for inspection — it was towed to Waxahatchie Jeep, an authorized Stellantis dealer in Waxahachie, TX, on June 19, 2026 and remains in their custody under repair order [XXX]. 2. The vehicle caught fire while being driven on the highway between Waxahachie and Ennis, Texas, with two occupants returning from a Boy Scout trip, my husband, the driver, and our [XXX] son. The driver was forced to take evasive action, steering off the roadway into a service station to get the occupants clear and stop the fire from spreading further. This created a serious risk of burns, of a collision during the evasive maneuver, and of harm to the occupants and other motorists. 3. Has the problem been reproduced…? No. No diagnostic has been performed. The vehicle has been in the authorized dealer’s custody since June 19, 2026 ([XXX]), but the manufacturer has not completed an inspection or diagnostic. The underlying defect is the subject of an active recall (21D / 26V363000) affecting more than one million 2021–2025 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles, for which the manufacturer has stated no remedy is yet available. 4. The vehicle was towed by AAA to Waxahatchie Jeep on June 19, 2026 and has remained there since. It has not yet been formally inspected or diagnosed by the manufacturer. 5. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the fire. The first indication of a problem was smoke from the engine area at which point the driver immediately pulled off the road and saw a plume of smoke coming from the exhaust. Jeep purchased new on 28 January 2026. Fuel gauge only goes to 7/8 full after tank is full. Took it to dealer, they replaced gas tank, then 2 weeks later fuel pump twice, and fuel sensor unit. This solved the problem for 32 days now it’s doing the same thing. Took it back to dealership, they stated there was nothing they could do and engineering is aware and working on a fix. Called another Jeep service they said they weren’t aware of any updates or recalls.

The 3.5-inch instrument panel cluster (IPC) in my Jeep has completely failed and gone blank. This is the exact safety defect described in NHTSA Campaign Number 24V652 (FCA Recall 30B). Because the screen is completely blank, I am entirely unable to see critical safety information while driving, including my speedometer, fuel gauge, and warning lights, which significantly increases the risk of a crash. Despite my vehicle experiencing the exact internal short circuit defect outlined in the official recall report, my vehicle is being excluded from free repairs because the manufacturer narrowed the scope based on the vehicle's "time in service." A local Jeep dealership has diagnosed the vehicle and confirmed the cluster needs to be replaced, but quoted me out-of-pocket costs to fix it. Summary of Issue: The vehicle exhibited a repeatable dangerous steering oscillation after encountering road irregularities at speed. This occurred multiple times and is consistent with the known Wrangler “death wobble” condition for which a class action settlement exists on prior MY vehicles. Context: The wobble occurred several times during 2025, always on the highway. The violent oscillation (which seemed harmonic in nature) occurred when driving 65-70mph after running on a bumpy stretch of road (which basically describes most of Michigan right now). The only remedy was for the driver to immediately hit the warning lights, brake and slow down to around 20-25mph to reduce the oscillation, thereby regaining control. The Jeep service shop replaced all four shocks and the steering stabilizer, in addition to checking wheel alignment/balance etc. Additional Technical Context: I believe the Wrangler 4xe’s unique mass distribution may be contributing to the oscillation behavior, likely resulting in it acting differently to gas-powered Wranglers, The 4xe uses the same solid axle front suspension architecture as the gas powered Wrangler, but the hybrid model carries approximately 500–800 lbs of additional mass, much of it located low in the chassis and near the axle line. This added mass increases the effective unsprung and “near unsprung” inertia the suspension must control when the axle encounters a road disturbance. This higher inertia increases the energy transmitted into the track bar, tie rod ends, ball joints, and steering damper, reducing the system’s tolerance for even minor compliance, wear, or alignment deviation. It is my belief that the 4xe’s additional mass can amplify oscillation behavior after a bump, making the vehicle more susceptible to steering shimmy or ‘death wobble’ if any component is marginal.

My vehicle is confirmed affected by three active NHTSA safety recalls, none of which currently have an available remedy: • NHTSA Recall 25V741000 – High Voltage Battery May Fail and Cause Fire. Issued October 2025. This is the third recall issued for this same underlying defect. I have been monitoring this recall since it was issued — now over eight months later — with no resolution. • NHTSA Recall 25V710 (Manufacturer Recall A7C) – Loss of Motive Power While Driving. Issued October 2025. An interim backend policy update was implemented but does not constitute a full fix. • NHTSA Recall 26V363000 – Power Steering Wiring May Catch Fire. Issued June 2026. The electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring may overheat and cause a fire even when the vehicle is parked with the ignition off. No remedy currently available. As a result of recalls 25V741000 and 26V363000, Chrysler/FCA has officially instructed me to park my vehicle outside and away from all structures at all times, and to refrain from charging my vehicle until a remedy is available. That charging restriction is a serious problem independent of the safety concerns. I specifically chose and leased the 4xe model for its plug-in hybrid capability and the fuel economy benefits it provides. I am now officially instructed not to charge it — meaning the vehicle cannot be used as intended or as it was represented to me at the time of lease signing. I have been unable to charge my vehicle for eight months, with no remedy available and no timeline provided. I do not feel safe driving this car. It can catch fire not only while parked, but also while driving. I am paying $500 per month for a vehicle that cannot operate as intended, poses active safety risks with no fix available, and has been in this condition for the majority of my lease term. The value I am receiving does not reflect the payments I am making.

Tires display severe weather checking in the tread and sidewalk. Tires have less than 10000 miles. It was not garage kept and was used in college, so was not driven much during the winter. Notified Nexen and they were very rude. I told them they were take offs and they responded that they were technically used. I said they were taken off a brand new Jeep and were stored inside. They were only off the vehicle for about a month. Seller said he has not seen the issue with these tires and stores them in accordance to manufacturers recommendation. I explained to Nexen, “who cares if you call them used, they are less than 2.5 years old and are coming apart. That should be concerning.” I saved 2 of them for evaluation. They do not care.
