The car has died 5 times in the past two years. It was bought brand new off the lot. Dealership says it is always an electrical/battery issue and then the car dies again. The car gets towed to the dealership each time and full inspections done. The car has been unusable for 20+ days out of 2 years.

I was driving 65 MPH on a highway in high traffic and the Fuel propulsion system failed without any lights or warning. It just stop responding to accerlation. It was extremely dangerous and CDOT had to come rescue us. We are lucky we were not hurt or killed. The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee is only 5 years old and has 46,000 miles on it. The fuel pump needs a complete replacement. It is months out of warranty but still there should be 50,000-100,000 miles left on this part.

I am writing to formally request a review of an unresolved safety recall on my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I recently received a notice regarding safety recall 89D/NHTSA 26V-562, which indicates a serious rear coil spring hazard. Currently, replacement parts are unavailable, still being developed and no remedy has been provided. Because this defect poses a severe safety concern, I cannot safely drive the vehicle. Being left without safe transportation-through no fault of my own-creates an extreme hardship. Under federal standards and manufacturer responsibility, owners should not be stranded or forced to drive unsafe vehicles waiting indefinitely for backordered parts that have been unsuccessfully developed two times already. I am requesting that Jeep corporate authorize a free loaner vehicle or full vehicle buy back at my local dealership; [XXX]. Please contact me promptly at [XXX] with a case reference number and details on how my alternate transportation will be covered. Statement of Complaint: I am writing to file an official consumer protection complaint regarding a 2024 Jeep Cherokee 4xe that I recently leased. Throughout the duration of my lease possession, the vehicle suffered from persistent safety defects and unresolved manufacturer recalls that severely impacted its safety, reliability, and drivability. Despite multiple attempts to address these critical factory defects, the vehicle remained unreliable. On October 3, 2026, the vehicle was repossessed. I contend that the manufacturer and financing institution failed to provide a safe, merchantable vehicle as agreed upon in the lease contract, and that the financial loss and subsequent repossession stem directly from the vehicle’s manufacturing failures. Requested Resolution: I am requesting that the Attorney General's office investigate the consumer practices surrounding this lease. I am seeking a fair partial refund of the lease payments made while operating a known defective vehicle, as well as an equitable mediation of any outstanding post-repossession balance claims being made by the lender.

As I drove on the interstate, a warning came up saying that my vehicle speed may be limited. Almost immediately after the engine shut off completely and the gearbox locked. The dash said to press the brake and the on/off button, but when I tried it wouldn't work and a notice came up on the screen that I couldn't do that because I wasn't in park. My engine would not turn back on, and I had to coast to the side of the rode.

My jeep diesel had the software update for the crankshaft sensor tone ring, but the tone ring failed, and my car is stuck in limp mode. Is the replacement of the tone ring covered under the original recall,or do I have to pay for the repair?

On XXX, I brought my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee to Elmwood Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for the federal safety recall 24V-838 (FCA 94B) on the ABS module/hydraulic control unit. I picked the vehicle up on the night of XXX with no issues reported by the dealer. On XXX, after running errands and parking in my driveway, I restarted the car and stepped back inside briefly. When I returned, every dashboard warning light was blinking and the vehicle displayed a cascade of false error messages — that it was not in Park, to check the transmission, to check the starter, and to pull over and stop. The vehicle then shut down completely and would not restart. It was completely undrivable. A tow company technician tested the battery on site and confirmed it was fine. The vehicle was towed the following Monday for diagnosis. The entire under-hood fuse box tray (power distribution center) was burnt out and had to be replaced. I paid $600 out of pocket for the repair. The recall remedy required the dealer to work directly on the vehicle's electrical system: the published remedy for recall 94B is to replace the integrated pressure transducer on the ABS module and update the ABS module software — both procedures involving the ABS module's electrical connectors and a powered-up electrical system. My vehicle had no electrical problems before this service. Less than 18 hours after I picked it up from their recall service, the vehicle's entire power distribution system was destroyed. The dealership denied any responsibility and refused to cover the $600 repair. The service manager would not help me — the only person who would speak with me was [XXX], a service advisor. I also reached out to the dealership's ownership. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11769284October 6, 2026STEERING, UNKNOWN OR OTHER, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
Here is the issue: vehicle sat all evening (an 8 hour shift) in the warehouse parking lot and it misty rained, so probably high humidity as well, the entire time. When I got in it at the end of my shift, and started it, cycling 3 times hoping the issue would clear, it had lost all electric power steering assist. The red steering wheel icon came on, lane‑keep assist disabled, traffic sensing disabled, and ACC showed ‘ACC Unavailable – Service Required.’ I limped the vehicle home - highly unsafe - to a dry somewhat environmentally controlled garage waiting for the roadside assistance tow truck to grab it next morning. When the towtruck driver arrived, he hopped in the vehicle, started it up, and it was as if nothing happened last night this dry, sunny morning. That must be a short somewhere. I spoke with Jordan at Dave Dennis CJDR in Dayton, OH, right away they said they checked it out, found old code U0131, cleared it, were not able to repeat the issue, and come get it. A few days, and much frustration later, I found this FOIA file, uploaded below, along with weblink [XXX] discussing a, quite concerning, to me, "known grounding issue" with "G908A faulty grounding." I have no indication on the below also attached invoice that that grounding issue was ever even checked, so I remain very concerned! At 29835 miles, my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee suffered a severe transmission slip/harsh jump. I took it to an authorized dealer on May 5,2026. The dealer charged $559, plus misc. charges of $12.00 and54.25 tax. They performed a transmission inspection, a quick learn to reset points, and noted VEH has an adaptive transmission. Vehicle needs to be driven to accommodate drivers pattern. The transmission is still actively slipping creating an extreme safety risk of sudden power loss in traffic and on highway.

The dealer and Corporate Partner are refusing to perform the federally mandated Z46 safety recall (NHTSA 22V406) on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee until they replace the supply line for a $1000, because they said it rotted/rusted. This factory supply line is made of nylon plastic and cannot rust. I suggest it blew out as part of a failing HPFP covered under the recall, and they misdiagnosed it. Furthermore, the technician and service advisor stated that they had not checked for any metal as part of the recall. I have asked for legal documentation for the estimate of parts and labor for the replacement of said supply line and have not received it.

Dealer illegally refused to complete recall repairs. Lakeshore Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat located at 330 E Howze Beach Rd Slidell, LA 70461 refused to complete recall repairs for manufacturer recall 66A, NHTSA recall number 23V-411. While traveling for work out of state the vehicle suddenly died and would not start due to the loss of signal for the crankshaft position sensor. this happened late on [XXX] and transportation could not be arranged until Friday. The vehicle was trailered and brought from Texas to the Slidell dealership on Monday June 9 2025. The service department informed us they did not do recall repairs on the EcoDiesels unless they had sold it to us directly. They said this was because it takes too long to do the repairs and customers get upset over the wait and that they did not want to loan vehicles for extended periods of time not knowing how long it would take to complete the work if parts were back ordered. We had to have the repairs completed at an independent repair shop and paid out of pocket for the repairs and the transport of the vehicle from Texas to Slidell, Louisiana where we reside. - #11768805October 4, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, ENGINE, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
My 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee has experienced repeated engine shutdown and braking-related failures while driving. The vehicle is currently at an authorized Jeep dealership and is available for inspection upon request. On May 17, 2026, while driving to Fair Oaks dealership due to an unusual engine noise, the check engine and brake warning lights came on. The engine then shut off while I was in the roadway, and I experienced loss of normal braking ability. I was frightened but managed to move the vehicle safely to the side of the road without a collision. The dealer inspected the vehicle, replaced the spark plugs, and returned it on May 29. I later received a recall notice involving the spark plug issue. I returned the vehicle to the dealer on September 11, 2026, and the recall/service work was completed. On September 23, 2026, while driving to work, a similar dangerous failure occurred again. The check engine light came on, the engine shut off while the vehicle was moving, and I again experienced a braking problem. I was terrified but fortunately managed to stop safely. The vehicle was towed to the authorized Jeep dealership. The dealer inspected it and told me the problem was related to the auxiliary battery and repaired it. The problem has therefore occurred more than once and has been inspected/repaired by an authorized Jeep dealer. Jeep Customer Care has also been notified under Case #98217351. To my knowledge, police and insurance representatives have not inspected the vehicle because no collision occurred. I have not picked up the vehicle because I no longer feel safe driving it. An engine shutting off together with braking problems while the vehicle is moving creates a serious risk of a crash, injury, or death to me, my family, other motorists, and pedestrians. No one has been injured so far, but I believe we were extremely fortunate. I request that NHTSA investigate this repeated safety failure.
