This engine does not run smoothly, it jerks coming out of a stop so there is delayed acceleration and it jerks every time you change gears. So I am almost rear ended at every stop light and stop sign. It also can lose acceleration or fail to accelerate on highways.

New vehicle failure to start on four occasions over approximately sixteen months due to overnight parasitic battery drain. Following the first incident the dealer replaced both the main and auxiliary batteries. Following the second incident the dealer tested and charged both batteries and performed software update to body control module (BCM). Following the third incident the dealer tested both batteries and checked codes. Following the fourth incident the dealer replaced both the main and auxiliary batteries. The incidents required towing or jump starting.

Vehicle was unable to be shutdown and was locked in park. Can was not responding to turning off while in the garage and engine running. Since the vehicle was inside an attached garage, we were concerned about Carbon Monoxide getting into the house. No way to turn car off and had to involve police/fire department. Disconnected the battery terminal in the trunk which was unable to be opened, so we had to crawl through the side passenger door to get into the trunk. The vehicle is now at the dealer (Wilde Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, at [XXX] in [XXX]). No police report #, but CAD entry from officer in having to assist. - #11759932August 27, 2026SERVICE BRAKES
While driving my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly applied the brakes very hard without any braking input from me. There was no apparent obstacle, vehicle, or other condition in front of me that would have required emergency braking. The braking was extremely abrupt and forceful. The sudden deceleration caused my seat belt to lock and restrain me hard enough to cause significant bruising and pain across my chest and reconstructed breasts. I recently underwent a double mastectomy with breast reconstruction, which made the impact and resulting injury particularly concerning. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership immediately following the incident because I am concerned that the vehicle's automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning system, or another braking or electronic system may have malfunctioned. The dealership has now had the vehicle for approximately one week. I have been advised that they have been unable to reproduce the incident or identify a problem that explains why the vehicle unexpectedly applied the brakes. I am extremely concerned about operating the vehicle because the cause of this unintended braking event has not been identified or repaired, and I have no assurance that it will not happen again. An unexpected emergency-braking event at highway speed, in traffic, or with another vehicle traveling closely behind could result in a serious collision or injury. This incident is particularly concerning to me given the other safety-related recalls and issues affecting my Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA has a record of the unintended braking event and can determine whether similar incidents have been reported involving this vehicle or its braking/automatic emergency braking systems.

I burned my right fingers when I went to Move the metal sharp gear selector knob,I was trying to reverse And the Dial knob was to hot to touch,I had to find a cloth to cover it so I dident burn my hand again, then I was able to move it to reverse and then drive, this very unsafe. My next problem was that in the parking lot the other day I think it was 8/20/2026,I was at a stop sign and took my foot off brake and the car started bucking and almost hit another car driving by,the car is jumping on its own,the salesmen who just sold me the car said this is normal because it’s a turbo, this is extremely dangerous, and my last problem is that there is excessive orange peel on the entire body of the car,and on the hood also,in which is very distracting and takes my line of sight off the road when driving, this is very dangerous in my opinion, all these issues are very serious ,the dealer already knows about the bucking of vehicle because it’s all over the internet, and I submitted a letter to the general manger about the excessive orange peel paint defect,I am confirming toad that I tell them about. Dangerous shift knob heating up and the bucking sudden jolts also,I am calling service dept and jeep customer service today to report it I will get a case number

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while test driving at an undisclosed speed, an unknown warning light flashed on the instrument panel. The dealer informed the contact that the battery was low and that the light had been replaced, while also informing the contact that the vehicle had experienced difficulty starting prior to purchase. Days later, upon starting the vehicle, all warning lights illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure, cleared the codes, and returned the vehicle; however, the failure recurred. While driving, the steering wheel became inoperable, causing the driver to lose steering control, and the vehicle crashed into a Ford Mustang. A red steering warning light illuminated. A police report was filed. There were no reported injuries, airbag deployment, or fire. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, where it was determined that the vehicle was undrivable, could not be inspected in the service bay, required an unknown replacement part, and that the steering wheel computer failed to communicate. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that the vehicle did not qualify under the lemon law, prompting the contact to report the issue to the Attorney General, who referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

I purchased a new 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit equipped with the new 2.0L Hurricane 4 Turbo. The vehicle has a repeatable and potentially dangerous accelerator-response problem. From a complete stop, I can apply substantial/full accelerator input and the vehicle initially provides little or no expected acceleration. The vehicle may begin creeping forward and the tachometer may begin moving, but there is little corresponding engine sound or vehicle acceleration. After approximately two seconds, the vehicle begins responding and accelerating however it is still extremely sluggish and dangerous. The condition has been repeatedly reproduced in both Normal and Sport modes. I have also experienced delayed RPM increase and delayed transmission response/downshift while already moving. The condition has occurred when attempting to enter traffic and creates a safety concern because the vehicle does not immediately respond as expected to accelerator input. The dealership initially told me the vehicle was operating normally based on diagnostic readings amd that because of the computers and software there is no direct throttle response on these drive by wire vehicles anymore. That is simply intrue. The dealership subsequently had the shop foreman test drive with me in the vehicle. The foreman experienced the condition and agreed there was an issue with the lack of throttle response. I repeated the issue multiple times from stop, ehile turning, and at speed. The dealership is now involving a technical advisor. The dealer has told me that a Stellantis service bulletin concerning similar drivability symptoms does not apply to my VIN. I am not alleging that the bulletin applies to my vehicle. I am reporting the actual safety-related behavior because I believe it warrants investigation regardless of whether my VIN is currently included in that service action.

On [XXX] while driving in northeastern colorado on hevily traveled [XXX] without warnin lamps, messages or other symptoms my vehicle stopped running. I was in a lane of traffic and since car had stalled out I had limited steering, braking etc. I did manage to get my vehicle out of the lane of traffic, however, still close to traffice traveling at high speeds past me.After about 30 very stressful minutes I managed to get law enforcement assistance. We were both still in a dangerous position where often wrecks happen by traffic veering and hitting vehicles on the side of the road. Vehicle was towed to Golden, CO for repair at Jeep and found to be failed fuel pump, which I understand Jeep is known for with recalls on other VIN numbers but my jeep was not included. Basic information that my 2021 Grand Cherokee had only 46, 933 miles on it. I believe this component never should have failed at this mileage. I believe that this year Jeep has had many fuel pump failures as jeep "just happened to have a fuel pump in stock". I also believe that this incident could have turned deadly had I not managed to get somewhat off the highway, especially for law enforcement and me. This year VIN should be included probably along with other in a Recall for the fuel pump. The dealer informed me this was not covered under warranty. Colorado has adopted California emissions however that starts with 2022 models and mine is 2021. Even after contesting this covering repairs was denied. With the hazardous position I was placed in, this definitely created a safety issue, especially if I had not managed to get out of the traffic lane. Having worked in the fire service for 19 years I had knowledge of the number of crashes occurring under these circumstances thus contributing to my stress level at the time. The contact owns a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While the contact’s daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed on the way to work, another driver crossed the road and crashed into the vehicle. The air bags in the daughter’s vehicle failed to deploy as needed. The front of the vehicle was damaged, the hood was bent, the grill was damaged, and headlights were knocked out of the headlight enclosures. The daughter was taken to a clinic, and an X-ray determined that there was a swollen tendon in the left knee, and medical treatment was provided. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot due to a transmission fluid leak. A Police report was filed but was not yet provided. The vehicle was not yet inspected or repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

The Evaporator AC Core/Expansion valve was faulty, which is VERY common in these vehicles. The dealership fixed it (still has a noise so not 100% sure if it was fixed or if it's another faulty one). Leaking air conditioner refrigerant is hazardous to both human health and the environment. When these things leak it releases toxic chemicals into the air and atmosphere. The dealership confirmed the issue and fixed it which took 5 days to do and a TON of hours which cost me over $3000. I have complained to Jeep/Chrysler and they will do nothing. It should be a recall in these vehicles and the consumer should not have to pay for bad/faulty parts. My vehicle was inspected by two dealerships to get second opinions. I was told by the dealerships they are doing these repairs more than they would like to say. No warnings just a annoying sound when the AC was on and I would lose Freon constantly and my AC would go warm. I'm asking for something to be done. Thank you.

My 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee suffers from an intermittent but severe 2-to-3-second acceleration lag as well as lunging when attempting to accelerate. This occurs specifically during low-speed or rolling left-hand turns, or when accelerating from a complete stop to execute a left turn across traffic. When the accelerator pedal is depressed to clear the intersection, the engine and transmission momentarily fail to provide propulsion, leaving the vehicle stranded mid-intersection. This defect represents an immediate, severe collision hazard. Because the power cuts out while the steering wheel is turned, I have experienced multiple near-miss accidents where oncoming traffic had to slam on their brakes to avoid a broadside/T-bone collision. The dealer has not yet been able to permanently resolve this dangerous, unpredictable loss of driving power.

2025 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE – UNINTENDED ACCELERATION, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL AND UNEXPECTED BRAKING I am reporting multiple intermittent safety-related problems with my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee, VIN [XXX], involving Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), unexpected acceleration, and unexpected braking. While driving on the highway with ACC activated, the vehicle has on multiple occasions behaved unpredictably. When another vehicle enters or cuts into my lane, my Grand Cherokee does not always reduce speed as expected. On some occasions, the vehicle has accelerated even though another vehicle was directly ahead or entering my path. One of these incidents occurred before a collision. I was traveling in my lane with the driver-assistance/ACC system activated when another vehicle crossed into my path. My Jeep continued traveling forward and did not automatically slow or brake sufficiently in response to the vehicle entering my path. When I manually applied the brakes, there was not enough distance remaining to avoid the collision. I have also experienced approximately two incidents on the highway involving unexpected aggressive braking. When I manually touched the brake pedal, the instrument cluster displayed a red warning and the vehicle suddenly applied extremely hard braking. The braking response was substantially more aggressive than the brake input I was providing. In addition, on one occasion while leaving my office at low speed, the vehicle unexpectedly accelerated without my intentionally commanding the acceleration. The Adaptive Cruise Control and driver-assistance system were OFF at the time. This incident is particularly concerning because it occurred independently of ACC operation. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized Jeep dealership and I reported all of these conditions. The dealership advised me that because the problems are intermittent, if they cannot duplicate the condition they cannot determine what repair to perform. On August 8, 2026, at approximately 23,959 miles, my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe experienced a significant loss of propulsion while accelerating in Hybrid mode to merge onto a highway. During acceleration, the check engine light began flashing, then remained illuminated, and the vehicle displayed a “Service Hybrid System Required” warning. The vehicle then provided little to no effective motive power despite accelerator input, making it unsafe to continue the highway merge. I was forced to pull off the roadway and stop the vehicle. The vehicle could not be safely driven and required towing to a Jeep dealership. This vehicle has a prior history of hybrid-system-related repairs and recalls. Previous service included high-voltage battery recall work, control module programming, replacement of the electric coolant heater, and replacement of the auxiliary coolant pump and coolant temperature sensor after earlier check-engine-light, EV-mode, and Hybrid-mode drivability complaints. A prior repair order also documented jerking during deceleration and reacceleration while operating in Hybrid mode. The current dealer has been unable to reproduce the loss-of-propulsion event. During diagnosis, one or more vehicle control modules may have been reset or cleared, which may have removed stored diagnostic trouble codes or other event data associated with the failure. I am reporting this because the sudden loss of propulsion occurred during highway entry and created a serious safety concern.

Electronic Throttle Control warning light comes on upon starting vehicle while extended crank occurs. When starting car, the push to start feature will not turn over and continuously cranks multiple times. Issue is intermittent- never know when it will happen which makes it difficult to replicate at service center. Took car into 2 mechanics on separate occasions and finally to the Jeep dealership for service. Because issue couldn’t be duplicated- nothing was done. However, recently while driving, same extended crank pattern noise and unstable/rough propulsion occurred while driving on the highway. Same Electronic throttle control warning light came on along with the check engine light. Also cruise control and the auto On Off feature became disabled. I scheduled service with my mechanic as soon as possible and they found the stored code was related to Technical Service Bulletin 2014-004-25 REV.B. This bulletin lists the symptoms I described yet the dealership did not perform the fuel pressure Test and Replace Fuel Pressure Regulator. I called the dealership to schedule warranty service for this TBS and they gave me difficulty acknowledging the TSB was issued for my make/model/year and scheduling a service appt. I spent the last few hours reading all of the complaints on NHTSA for 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it is alarming how many of the complaint are for this specific issue. It is dangerous for anyone on the road to be driving in a vehicle you can’t rely on to propel you forward when you press the gas or stall due to faulty fuel pressure regulator amid traffic. An investigation should be done. Furthermore, in reviewing other recalls, I found this is a recurrent issue for Jeep. It appears they’ve been various safety recalls issued for this in the past for vehicles made from 2011-2020. How they haven’t addressed it in new models is appalling. For owners of the vehicle, it’s difficult to have any leverage with dealership since it is not easy to replicate on demand.

Vehicle Information: Year / Make / Model: 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4xe Component(s) Involved: Engine / Hybrid Powertrain / Electrical System / Sudden Loss of Drive Power Current Mileage: Approximately 48,000mi Incident Summary I am filing this complaint because my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4xe has developed a dangerous new defect following an official recall service: the engine completely dies while accelerating on the highway. I took my Jeep to an authorized dealership to have the safety recall performed for the engine shutdown issue. Before this recall work was completed, I had never experienced the vehicle dying on the highway. Since the recall "fix," however, the engine has cut out completely 4 separate times while accelerating at high speeds. The most recent time happened today (August 3, 2026). Losing all pedal response and motive power in fast-moving traffic with no warning is terrifying and creates an extreme hazard for myself and everyone around me. History of Vehicle Issues & Extended Shop Time This sudden highway stalling comes on top of severe, ongoing electrical problems that have plagued this Jeep. Altogether, the vehicle has spent months sitting in the dealership shop, yet the problems remain unfixed: Post-Recall Engine Shutdowns: 4 separate complete power loss incidents while accelerating on the highway (latest occurrence: August 3, 2026). Unresolved Battery Drain: Ongoing parasitic battery drain that kills the battery, requiring multiple rounds of diagnostics without a solution. Pervasive Electrical Glitches: Frequent system glitches, including frozen touchscreens, instrument cluster reboots, random dash warning lights, and connectivity drops. Media Hub Issues: Hardware problems involving the media hub module. Requested Action The recall fix did not solve the safety hazard—it seems to have triggered a new, life-threatening stalling issue on the highway, along with the string of other issues, it's unsafe to drive.
