This is the third time that my jeep has completely shut off with no warning and in the middle of traffic. I am unable to turn on any hazard lights. The power goes completely out, and I am unable to put the car in neutral or anything to be safe. I have reported this issue in the past. The dealership is unable to figure out what is wrong and I keep trying to get this resolved before it turns out tragically. Please help me before I loss my life in this vehicle.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal and attempting to overtake another vehicle. The RPM was extremely elevated; however, the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway and restarted the vehicle before resuming normal driving. The contact became aware that, when shifting between automatic and manual driving modes, the vehicle operated normally without hesitating. The vehicle was taken to several dealers on several occasions; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure or determine the cause of the failure. In addition, the headlights occasionally shut off unexpectedly while driving at night. The contact would pull over and wait for the headlights to return before resuming normal driving. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls associated with the VIN for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

NHTSA Complaint Draft I am filing a follow-up complaint regarding Recall 78C on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. This recall involves risk of catastrophic engine failure, loss of propulsion, and potential fire. It has now been approximately 5 months since the recall was issued, and there is still no remedy available. I have completed all other recalls that had remedies and have fully complied with all manufacturer instructions. Due to the safety concerns and lack of a remedy, I was instructed by Stellantis to obtain a rental vehicle when a loaner was not provided. I incurred out-of-pocket rental expenses based on this guidance. However, despite multiple follow-up emails, Stellantis has failed to provide any reimbursement process, timeline, or response regarding these expenses. Additionally, I have received conflicting and unclear guidance regarding safe operation of the vehicle, including whether it can be driven or charged. This has significantly impacted my ability to safely use the vehicle for its intended purpose. At this point, I have made multiple documented attempts to resolve this directly with Stellantis and have received no response. This situation reflects a lack of remedy, lack of communication, and failure to reimburse expenses incurred under manufacturer direction. Immediate action and oversight are needed.

Check Engine light with Codes: PO300, and PO305. Misfire in Cylinder #5. Changed all spark plugs, and coils. Check engine still on, with same codes. Jeep dealer then said it was the cam shaft and needed new cam shaft head of a price tag of $8500. The car has been well maintained and has 75,200 miles on it. There is a known premature failure with the Pentastar Engine that is in this vehicle. Jeep is refusing to stand behind their product.

I am [XXX] , lessee of a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4xe, VIN [XXX] . This vehicle is subject to three open safety recalls, including FCA Recall No. 78C (NHTSA 25V-766), which states the engine may be contaminated with sand from the casting process, leading to catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, or sudden unrecoverable loss of propulsion. Stellantis has confirmed there is no available repair and no parts — the recall status reads "Parts Unavailable" and "Incomplete." I am a father of three young children. My wife and I use this vehicle daily, including to transport our kids to school. Every day we face the impossible choice of putting our children in a vehicle the manufacturer itself says could catch fire or lose all power without warning. I reported this to the dealer, Westbury Jeep, on February 10, 2026. They acknowledged the danger but said that replacement vechicles can only be provided by the lessor, Stallantis. I then wrote to Stellantis's executive team. The only response came from [XXX] , Customer Care & Experience Executive Referrals Manager [XXX] , [XXX] ), who offered to cover two lease payments and a gas card. She asked me to send my lease information so Stellantis Financial Services could follow up. I sent it. Stellantis Financial never responded — not a call, not an email, nothing. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate Stellantis's post-recall conduct and contact [XXX] regarding my case (XXX XXX). Despite acknowledging a life-threatening defect with no fix, Stellantis continues to collect $590 per month in lease payments while leaving my family in danger. I need a safe replacement vehicle immediately and a full refund of all payments made on this unsafe vehicle. Stellantis's response has been wholly inadequate. This submission is an update to NHTSA Complaint #11727024. The vehicle continues to experience recurring engine overheating and misfire conditions. These issues have been previously diagnosed and are consistent with known manufacturer Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) related to this engine. Despite this: The dealership has not performed the appropriate diagnostic protocol (including STAR testing) The manufacturer, Stellantis, closed my case without resolving the issue No repair or corrective action has been completed The vehicle remains in operation due to lack of manufacturer support. This condition presents a potential safety risk, including: Loss of power while driving Risk of engine failure or shutdown Increased risk during normal roadway operation The vehicle is regularly operated by my 17-year-old daughter, which increases concern regarding driver safety and reliability of the vehicle under these conditions. This situation reflects: A known defect documented by the manufacturer Failure of the dealer network to properly diagnose/repair Closure of a manufacturer case without resolution of a safety-related issue I am requesting that this complaint be reviewed as part of any broader pattern of similar failures and considered for further investigation.

BE ASVISED, THIS REPORT MAY BE INTERCEPTED, DELETED, HIDDEN, OR MODIFIED UPON RECEIVING. NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION Vehicle Safety Complaint Complainant: [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] Vehicle: 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee ------------------------------------- SAFETY DEFECT COMPLAINT – POST-REPAIR VEHICLE CONDITION I am reporting a serious safety concern involving my vehicle following collision repairs performed by Gerber Collision & Glass under a claim handled by State Farm Insurance. After the repair, the vehicle began exhibiting multiple safety-related issues, including: - Steering instability and shaking - Engine performance issues and abnormal noise - HVAC malfunction - Persistent chemical and/or coolant odors - Physical symptoms while driving, including dizziness, lightheadedness, and shortness of breath I returned to the repair facility with photographic evidence showing parts with visible wear and damage that appear inconsistent with proper replacement. Despite this, no diagnostic evaluation was performed, and no corrective action was taken. The repair facility has refused to address the condition of these parts, and the insurer has refused to authorize further inspection. Additionally, there are discrepancies between the insurance estimate and the final repair invoice, raising concerns about whether the documented work matches what was actually performed, including work involving structural components such as the cradle/subframe. I believe this vehicle may be unsafe to operate and that the repair may have introduced or failed to correct conditions that pose a risk to driver safety. I request that this matter be reviewed as a potential safety defect related to post-collision repair. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Vehicle is a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (PHEV) subject to Safety Recall 78C (25V-766), issued November 2025. The recall states the engine may be contaminated with sand from the casting process, which can cause catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, and unexpected unrecoverable loss of propulsion. No remedy has been developed or made available by the manufacturer as of April 2026 — more than five months after the recall was issued. The manufacturer has confirmed in writing that an active stop-sale and stop-production order is in effect on all affected 4xe models due to this unresolved defect. Despite this, the manufacturer has simultaneously deemed the vehicle "operable" and denied a buyback request, requiring the consumer to remain in possession of a vehicle that cannot legally be sold due to its unresolved safety status. The manufacturer's written target window for the remedy was February–March 2026. That window has passed with no repair available and no updated timeline provided. The consumer has been without full use of the vehicle since January 2026 and has been paying out of pocket for rental transportation. The defect has not been confirmed by a dealer because no remedy exists for dealers to perform. No crash, fire, or injury has occurred, but the consumer has chosen not to operate the vehicle due to the known fire and catastrophic failure risk documented in the recall notice itself.

- #11728711April 2, 2026BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING
I am having issues with the screen in my vehicle going black. The dealership repair facility keeps pushing me to Case Number S258A000007 and says that my rear camera and safety features are not impacted, but as you can see from the video and pictures, they are. I have tried contacting the manufacturer with no return call. The dealership repair facility said they will not touch my vehicle, so I am left with an intermediate safety feature issue.

While attempting to park my vehicle, it suddenly accelerated on its own, causing the car to move quickly toward a tree and a nearby building. I immediately attempted to stop the vehicle by pressing the brake pedal, but the car continued to accelerate. The engine was roaring, and I even tried using both feet on the brake pedal in an effort to stop the vehicle, but it did not respond. The only way I was able to stop the vehicle was by turning off the engine. Due to the unexpected acceleration and my concern that it could happen again, the vehicle was not safe to drive. A tow truck was called, and the vehicle was transported to a mechanic for inspection.

I would like to file a complaint against Jeep. I drive a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE with 16,000 miles. While driving to the Store, the electronic parking brake engaged while driving. This caused braking system damage. Jeep / Manufacturer are refusing to reimburse me. The total cost was: $9,129.26. This effected the Actuators, Brake Calipers, Rear Rotors, and Brake Pads. This is not normal wear and tear, however a safety-related defect.

Brakes repetitively seize, causing the wheels to overheat and the vehicle to shake while braking, putting the vehicle at risk of fire, reduced brake performance, and brake failure. Two different dealerships have confirmed from the problem at various points, the brakes are "repaired" and then have the same failure with the same components again. There are no warnings that the brakes are seizing other than the smell of burning brakes, or smoke coming from the wheel.

I brought my vehicle to the dealership (Axis Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Jersey City, NJ) for open safety recalls. The vehicle has been at the dealership for approximately 3 weeks. I was repeatedly told parts were coming (alternator and brake booster), but the repairs were never completed. I was later told I could pick up the vehicle, but no documentation was provided and I have reason to believe the recall repairs were not performed. This has caused delays, inconvenience, and safety concerns.
