The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V893000 (TRAILER HITCHES); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the third brake light remained illuminated after the vehicle was turned off and the key was removed from the ignition. The tow hitch wiring harness was replaced but the failure persisted. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

The oil consumption issue has begun. At about 75k miles, my 2018 Hyundai Tucson 1.6L Turbo is burning oil at an insane rate. And there is no indicator of it occurring (no codes or anything on the dash) until it's too late. Hyundai is now WELL KNOWN, and aware, for this problem and it is a catastrophic safety issue because of the possibility of the engine seizing and disabling the vehicle. It isn't negligence on the consumers part either, especially when timely and consistent oil changes are being done. *NOTE* My vehicle has had the transmission (6 speed dual clutch) replaced at around 30k miles and is having the same issue again (at 75k miles). So first the transmission and now the engine!

While driving, I accelerated to merge onto the highway. The check engine light flashed a few times and the engine started wobbling like it was misfiring. I have also been having a parasitic drain on my auxiliary batter that makes the car not open to my key fob that I know works. The dealership told me it was bad fuel, but they “tested the fuel” with no diagnostic report/proof/records, saying that the fuel was bad and had a high concentration of 5% alcohol. They re-did the test and took pictures which shows the fuel is within tolerance but no diagnostic report and are refusing to complete a warranty checkup on my engine/electrical system. Also, the misfires with acceleration due to merging has happened 3 times. From the start back in July 2025 till now.

The car is dead if you do not drive it every 4 days. The battery and system have no power. It has happened multiple times over the past year. Have taken the car to Castle Hyundai of Downers Grove, IL. To date no resolution has been reached wh6 my car looses power. The dealer ran computer checks. Verified the battery had to be reset multiple times. Could not identify any issues with battery or hev system. Contacted Hyundai. Support stated their technical specialist conclusion waste make sure i drive the car for a half hour every other day. That was their "resolution". A car should be able to sit in a garage under normal temperatures for longer than 4 days without the battery system being dead for unknown reasons. The car is unreliable and does not meet safety standards as if they don't know why it's battery system is dead if it sits what to say it won't happen when I am driving down the highway.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Forward Collision Warning How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The car braked on the highway and caused me to get rear ended. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? This occurred twice in the same day, the second time it caused an accident. The first time was on a busy highway, someone braked going 75 mph in front of me and the car "over reacted" and braked so hard the people behind me had to swerve around me. The second time we were in stop and go traffic and it unexpectedly brought me to a complete stop and the person behind me hit me.

I already replaced 3 catalytic converters and I am at 31000 miles. They finally decided to do an oil consumption test but it passed. The other day my car started shaking and my ignition coil and spark plugs were also bad which somehow is related to my engine issues.

Hyundai Tucson Sport 2016 GDI engine. I am the original owner of this truck I have taken care of this truck so much it being my first brand new purchase. No oil leaks NOTHING! When I first purchased the vehicle I noticed that it would stall when I would accelerate but did not think too much of it since it was brand new. A few years passed started to notice frequent oil changes were supposed to be made. Another few years turbocharger went out had to get it replaced. The engine consumes so much oil at first I thought it was because the turbocharger was out so when I got it fixed I thought that would fix that issue and it didn’t. I got an oil change March 2, 2026 and on March 21, 2026 I was on the highway and the truck started to shake really bad I exited the highway went straight to the oil place they said I had no oil on the dipstick I got ANOTHER oil change (expensive) and when I turned on the car to leave the car shook again and the engine light was flickering on and off and finally stayed on the dash board. Barely made it home. Got a tow truck to tow it to Hyundai dealership they told me they will not see it unless I pay the diagnostic fee of $200 and even then they think it’s the engine with everything I described to them. They said since there are no recalls on the Tucson that Hyundai will not do anything for me I would have to pay out of pocket for everything. Had to pay the tow truck again to tow it to my house ($250). My car has all the symptoms all the other cars have that they have recalled. This is a huge safety issue because i drive on the highway a lot and everyone knows a car with no oil is extremely dangerous.

the door latches are no longer opening the doors from the inside of the vehicle. This started with the passenger rear and now is effecting the drivers door. The only way to get out of the vehicle is to crawl over the seat to get to a door that is still operational. No warnings, just doesn't open when you pull on the handle. Will be making an appointment with a local dealer/service dept but given the security concerns this is being reported here as well.

- #11727084March 25, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Subject: Safety Concern – Excessive Automatic Braking (2025 Hyundai Tucson) I am reporting a safety concern regarding the automatic braking system (Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist) in my 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The vehicle frequently applies sudden and aggressive braking in situations where there is no immediate collision risk. This occurs during normal driving and low-speed parking scenarios, including when passing nearby objects, backing out of parking spaces, or maneuvering in tight areas. The braking is abrupt enough to create a potential safety hazard, including: - Risk of being rear-ended due to unexpected deceleration - Disruption of normal traffic flow - Reduced driver confidence and control This behavior appears overly sensitive and does not align with actual collision risk in many cases. I have attempted to adjust the system settings (including warning timing), but the issue persists. Additionally, the system resets upon restarting the vehicle, preventing a consistent mitigation of the problem. I am requesting: - A review of this system behavior as a potential safety defect - A software update or calibration option to reduce braking aggressiveness - The ability to permanently adjust or disable this feature Please advise on next steps and whether this issue is known or under review. The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle and driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally loud grumbling sound coming from the engine. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle unexpectedly entered LIMP Mode. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that documentation of previous oil changes was required. The contact stated that the manufacturer accused the contact of a lack of maintenance, which was associated with the engine failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

I had ANOTHER door latch lock assembly fail on my 2016 Hyundai Tucson. There was a TSB for this issue that the dealership said expired for my vehicle three months ago. They wanted a $200 diagnostic fee for a total repair of close to $1000. They confirmed it was another door latch lock assembly, although I’m not sure how because the door would not open from the inside OR the outside. When the rear passenger side assembly failed a week ago, my kids were stuck in the back of the vehicle. This is a potentially dangerous issue that Hyundai seems to be aware of. If the front driver’s side goes at the wrong time, and I am not able to open my door, it could have disastrous consequences. I could become trapped in my car in the event of an accident, fire, etc. Hyundai needs to recall all door latch assemblies and just replace them all free of charge. It’s ridiculous that it’s a guessing game of when they might stop functioning properly and potentially trap you inside the vehicle.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally escalate an unresolved safety issue involving my 2017 Hyundai Tucson (VIN: [XXX] ) that has now been ongoing for over two years. I have made repeated attempts to complete a safety recall repair through multiple authorized Hyundai dealerships, including Hyundai of [XXX] and Hyundai in [XXX] . Despite scheduling several appointments, I have consistently been turned away, had appointments effectively canceled, or been told that no one is available to perform the repair. This has occurred across more than one location and over an extended period of time. This is unacceptable. A federally mandated safety recall especially one involving the engine is not optional and must be completed within a reasonable timeframe. The continued failure to complete this repair places me at risk and reflects a serious breakdown in both dealership accountability and corporate oversight. Additionally, my vehicle has experienced significant paint chipping. While I understand this may not be a safety recall issue, it has affected the overall condition and value of my vehicle. Given the prolonged delay and inconvenience I have experienced, I am requesting that this concern also be reviewed for potential goodwill repair or coverage. At this point, I am requesting immediate action: Assignment of a case manager A confirmed and honored appointment date for recall repair at a dealership that is able to complete the work Written confirmation that the repair will be completed without further delay Information regarding a loaner vehicle or transportation if the repair requires extended time Please note that I am filing a formal complaint with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office due to the repeated failure to complete a federally required safety recall. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will pursue additional consumer protection and legal remedies. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am writing regarding the diagnosis provided for my vehicle [XXX] . I was informed today that the engine failure is being attributed to a "water hose failure" rather than the engine defects covered under the active safety recall/settlement regarding Connecting Rod Bearing failure. As there were no coolant leaks before or after the vehicle was towed to your dealership. I am formally requesting a re-evaluation and more detailed evidence. Given the known history of these engines seizing, I need to ensure this diagnosis is absolutely correct and not a symptom of the internal defect. I request the following information be provided immediately: 1. Evidence of Overheating: Did the vehicle store any specific "overheating" codes in the ECU prior to the engine shutting off? 2. Oil Pan Inspection: Has the oil pan been removed to inspect for metal shavings or debris? If the connecting rod bearings failed (the recall issue), there will likely be metallic debris in the oil, regardless of the condition of the water hose. 3. Bearing Clearance Test (BCT): Was the mandated Bearing Clearance Test performed? If not, I request that this be done, or that a teardown be performed to inspect the rod bearings specifically. 4. Causal Link: Can you provide evidence that the water hose failed causing the engine to seize, rather than the engine seizing causing a pressure spike that damaged the cooling system? I have no transportation to work and school. They would not honor a loaner. This has happened since Decemeber of 2025. I await your written response with the requested photos and technical data. My case # with Hyundai Consumer Affairs # XXX Please provide: All relevant photographs Freeze-frame and ECU data Technician diagnostic notes Results of oil pan inspection and/or BCT (if performed) Any physical evidence supporting the stated cause of failure I request this information be sent in writing at your earliest convenience. - #11726389March 23, 2026AIR BAGS
my air bag light came on and I took it to a dealer and they said they repaired it by replacing a seat belt , a couple months later my car was in a hit and run and my front end was badly damaged and my air bags never deployed. they fixed my car and I got it back with the air bags light on again, took it back to the same dealer, they had the car and say they can't fix it, they said they looked around the country and can't find any replacement parts, they say there is no way to repair my car. My car is unsafe to drive and they say it can't be fixed and I did everything I was supposed to do with the car, took got care of it and its got low mileage for the year and now i'm being told it's out of warranty and it's my problem not the dealers or hyundia's. i'm now on SSd and can't afford a $300-500 a month payment and requested a buy back do to faulty equipment and repair and now a year later i'm still waiting to get a yes or no, my car is not safe and i'm out of luck with my car, the repair didn't work when needed, someone should be responsable for repair or equipment liability to help me find something safe to drive not all on me.

My ABS has been sticking and finally the pad broke off. my car made a squealing noise everytime I drove it. I had parked in my driveway and there was a piece of metal on the ground. I showed it to my son, he took the tire off and said it held my ABS Brake pad on to my Driver side rear. He is a master tech for Subaru. I just haven't had time to take it into Hyundai. It has stopped squealing, but my ABS brakes no longer work.

About every 500 miles I have to add about a quart of oil. I brought my car to McDaniels Subaru for maintenance on my car. My son is a master tech there and I know he is very thorough. My contract lets me go there also. So he checked the dipstick and it was below a quart of oil. He did change the oil change. I cannot drive a long distance without carry a large container of oil. He has warned me not to let it get low again or the engine will seize. This car gets all its regular Maintenance on time. I have a contract to do this. The dealership had all the maintenance records at the time I purchased it. It has been very well maintained.

When driving in daylight at about 5 pm in light traffic at speeds of about 20 mph the car suddenly had a dead stop. My grandsons, ages [XXX] and [XXX] were in the back seat with seat belts but their and my drinks went flying. There was no potential collision that precipitated this and luckily the car behind was not close enough for a rear end collision. This has happened 2 or 3 times previously and I think this "safety feature" which cannot be turned off is a safety hazard. I also had a disturbing experience when I left a lane briefly to give a bicycle rider more space. The car suddenly tried to pull me back into the lane and I had to fight the wheel to keep it where I wanted the car to be. I was able to disable this feature. The car has only 7K miles and is almost a year old. I am a good driver and am concerned that I will get into an accident due to unwanted safety features! Thank you.
