On 4/14/26, the glass area between the sunroof and directly above the front windshield, cracked and subsequently shattered. There was no impact and currently there is no damage to the sunroof or windshield. Upon checking online to figure out what this area is called, I discovered that this is a common problem with Hyundai vehicles (spontaneous glass cracking/shattering). This is a safety issue as shattered glass could get lodged in the vehicle or fly off the vehicle and injure someone. I have an appointment with a local Hyundai dealer tomorrow morning (4/19/26) to inspect the issue.

- #11732049April 18, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Sometimes in heavy rain, using the washer fluid or bright sunlight I get an alert that the Foward Collision Avoidance sensor disabled. Usually doesn’t last long unless there is heavy rain. This system shouldn’t be triggered by things that happen frequently. This isn’t an issue in my Santa Fe. The only time that sensor is inoperable is in very heavy snow that has covered the front of the vehicle

- #11731406April 15, 2026STEERING
While driving on April 11, 2026 at approximately 1:30 PM on [XXX] , the vehicle experienced a loss of steering response while the roadway curved to the right. The driver turned the steering wheel normally in order to follow the curve. The steering wheel moved freely and felt normal. However, the vehicle did not respond to the steering input and instead continued traveling straight. As a result, the vehicle struck the curb on the driver’s side. The impact with the curb slightly redirected the vehicle, but steering response was not restored. The driver continued attempting to steer the vehicle, and although the steering wheel continued to turn normally, the vehicle did not change direction. The vehicle did not appear to lose traction and was not described as sliding. Instead, it failed to respond to steering input. There were no warning indicators, messages, or prior signs of a problem before the incident. The driver was able to bring the vehicle to a stop in a nearby turn area and arranged for it to be towed. After the incident, the vehicle was taken to a Hyundai dealership for inspection. The dealership reported no diagnostic codes and did not identify any issue with the steering system. No corrective action has been taken. 1)Steering system malfunction (column, shaft, rack, and/or EPS). Steering input was not transmitted to vehicle direction. Vehicle available for inspection. 2)Loss of steering control caused curb impact and risk of collision with vehicles, pedestrians, or objects. Could have resulted in serious injury at higher speed or in traffic. 3)No. Dealer could not reproduce. 4)Inspected by Hyundai dealer. No steering-related codes found. No cause identified. No repair performed. Hyundai Consumer Affairs case opened. 5)No warning lights or prior symptoms. Failure was sudden and without warning. The same incident has occurred 4 times ( [XXX] While driving on the freeway in light traffic and no vehicles in front. The forward collision sensor triggered dropping the vehicle in speed approx 30 mph almost instantaneously. This is San Diego so no snow, rain or sleet and we were driving eastbound each time with the sun at our back. Hyundai kept the car for a week for diagnostics and found nothing. We have since escalated to corporate and are going in for another round of diagnostics. We have been exceptionally fortunate that we were not rear-ended. We have since installed a dash-cam to record the next event INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11731118April 14, 2026LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
The constant and on and off "Consider Taking a Break" warnings are VERY distracting. I'm driving safely and attentively, and these even come on sometimes when I'm JUST starting to drive (why do I need to take a break if I haven't driven in over a day?). Unnecessary alarm that does NOT do when it says it does and overrides any other sound or alarm I should actually be listening to.

The car was backing out of a driveway in Reverse. Came to a stop to shift to drive, and recieved a "shift system malfunction! Service immediately" screen message and the car was locked in the middle of the roadway unable to be put into any gear or be turned off. It was a huge roadway safety issue. The tow driver had to search for a code or sequence of commands to put it into neutral to be able to be safely lifted onto the tow bed, and the vehicle was stuck in accessory mode, which effectively drained the battery.

- #11730664April 12, 2026ENGINE, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
The component involved is the engine and associated knock detection system (KSDS). The system triggered a P1326 code indicating abnormal engine knock associated with a known defect condition. On February 14, 2023, while driving on the freeway, the vehicle suddenly entered reduced power (“limp mode”) and lost acceleration capability in active traffic. This created a safety risk, as the vehicle was unable to maintain speed with surrounding traffic or accelerate as needed for normal driving conditions. There were no sufficient warnings prior to the event to allow safe planning or avoidance of the loss of power condition. The system activation itself (P1326 and limp mode) was the first indication of the severity of the issue. The problem has been reproduced multiple times, with repeated P1326 events occurring after the initial incident. The condition has been inspected and partially confirmed by a Hyundai dealership. In March 2026, dealership records documented that oil contamination was causing catalytic converter failure, indicating ongoing engine-related deterioration consistent with the defect condition identified by the knock detection system. Despite these findings, the underlying engine condition has not been resolved. The KSDS system is designed to detect a potentially serious engine defect and limit engine power to prevent further damage. However, it does not correct the underlying defect. As a result, the vehicle may continue to operate with a known compromised condition that can trigger reduced power unexpectedly. This creates an ongoing safety concern. A vehicle that can suddenly lose acceleration due to a known defect presents a risk to the driver, passengers, and other motorists, particularly during freeway driving, merging, or other situations requiring normal engine performance. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request.

I PURCHASED THIS 2022 TUCSON LIMITED HYUNDAI NEW. IT HAS 25,000 MILES ON IT. THE CAR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A POWER REDUCTION BEGAN ALONG WITH SHAKING OF THE CAR. I WAS ABLE TO CLEAR THE INTERSECTION SAFELY. I WAS ABLE TO TURN INTO A SAFE SPOT AND SHUT DOWN THE CAR. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO THEN INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS AN INJECTOR KNOW ISSUE FOR THIS YEAR AND WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE 5 YEAR WARRANTY. HOWEVER, AS THIS IS A ENGINE/POWERTRAIN PROBLEM, IT SHOULD BE COVERED ON THE 100,000/TEN YEAR WARRANTY. A TSB (23-FL-002H-1) ALERT HAD ALREADY BEEN ISSUED, BUT NOT A RECALL. MANY OWNERS HAVE REPORTED HAVING THIS PROBLEM REPEATEDLY, AS A SAFETY ISSUE AND A KNOWN MFG DEFECT. WHEN IS THE GOVERNMENT GOING TO STEP UP AND DEMAND A REAL FIX BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED? OWNER ARE CURRENT LEFT FIGHTING WITH THE DEALERS OVER THE WARRANTY LIMITS OR TAKING LEGAL ACTION. IF YOU GOOGLE THIS PROBLEM, YOU CAN FIND OUT THE NATIONAL LEVEL OF THIS PROBLEM, FROM ACCIDENTS WHICH CAUSED FIRES OR ACCIDENTS FROM POWER LOSS. MY CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALER WAITING ON PARTS. ITS TIME TO FORCE A RECALL! I WILL BE DEMANDING THAT IT IS COVERED FOR THE 10 YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD AND CONSIDERING TAKING ACTION UNDER THE LEMON LAWS. IF THE GOVERNMENT FAILS TO ACT ON THIS SOON, THAN THEY ARE JUST AS LIBEL AS THE MANUFACTURER. YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION TO THIS ISSUES IS REQUESTED.

- #11730409April 10, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Over the past four days, my vehicle has repeatedly applied braking unexpectedly without a valid obstacle or need to brake. This has occurred multiple times under normal driving conditions, including: Twice on the freeway in stop-and-go traffic with vehicles at a safe distance ahead Multiple times on regular city streets with vehicles ahead at approximately 15–20 feet Once while turning into my driveway as my garage door was opening In one instance on the freeway, a vehicle behind me nearly collided due to the sudden unexpected braking. The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (Automatic Emergency Braking) system is set to “Late,” yet the vehicle still applies braking unnecessarily. This behavior did not occur previously and has started happening repeatedly within the past four days. This creates a significant safety risk, particularly in traffic where unexpected braking can cause rear-end collisions. The vehicle has approximately 1050 miles and has not been modified. The issue is currently being evaluated by a Hyundai dealership and has been reported to Hyundai Motor America under an open case.

The automatic emergency braking system has literally locked the brakes up 5 times in the last several months since the car was purchased new from the dealer due to this system thinking we were going to hit the car in front that was not braking hard. One time a car had already turned off the roadway and as we started to accelerate on down the road our car locked the brakes up as it has done 4 other times and then will not let you accelerate for a few seconds. 3 of those 5 times we have had cars behind us, one time was a semi, that almost hit us due to the unexpected locking of the brakes. This system can only be turned off each time you start the car by going through numerous menu steps and then it is right back on the next time you start the car. Not only is this going to cause an accident and potential injury(s) but it could even cause an argument with the vehicle behind thinking they were being brake checked. The dealer said they could not turn it off and the only choice was to do it each time you started the car but could turn the sensitivity down which we have tried and it still does it when you least expect it to when there really is no potential crash about to occur. We have emailed Hyundai and awaiting a response as well and advised if this system causes a crash and especially an injury as a result that we would sue and have requested a software update be done asap to allow the driver to turn it off and it stay off until it is turned back on or buy the car back as this is a very realy danger and safety issue. A safety feature shouldn't cause another safety issue in itself and this system is doing that and we would be shocked if it hasn't already caused crashes/injuries as a result in other Hyundai cars with this feature. There are numerous complaints by other owners regarding this same issue all over the internet.

Three power window regulators have failed on my 2016 Hyundai Tucson within a six-month period. The front driver and front passenger windows both failed first and required replacement. The rear driver-side window has now also failed and is currently stuck in the open position. When the failures occur, the window will move up slightly but then drop back down or will not stay closed, indicating a failure of the regulator mechanism rather than normal wear. The fact that multiple window regulators have failed in a short period suggests a defect or premature failure of this component. This creates a safety concern because one window is stuck open, exposing the vehicle interior to weather, reducing security, and potentially affecting driver visibility and safe operation. This appears to be a known issue with this model year, but my vehicle is not included in any recall.

A persistent and dangerous safety defect regarding my 2026 Hyundai Tucson. Since February 19, 2026, I have experienced a chemical/burning odor when the heater is in operation. More alarmingly, exposure to these fumes while driving causes me and a passenger to experience severe headaches and dizziness, rendering the vehicle unsafe to operate. To date, I have presented the vehicle for repair on five separate occasions, including four visits to Suresky Hyundai and a "second opinion" visit to Healey Hyundai on April 2, 2026. Despite my documented physical symptoms and repeated visits, technicians have dismissed the issue as a "new car smell" or claimed the vehicle is "operating as designed."

While driving the dash screen starts to flicker on and off and then goes black and a no signal message appears on the screen. When this happens I have no gauges to check and no speedometer to view, very unsafe to drive with no gauges or speedometer. I’ve been to the dealership two times for this problem once in December of 2025 and again in April of 2026 and still have the same issue.
