The driver's side view mirror glass has been distorted/warped since I bought the vehicle new. It jeopardizes my safety every time I drive the vehicle as I feel like I need extra time to focus when looking at my mirror because of the distortion. I have taken my vehicle to 2 different Ford dealerships, 1 said that they didn't see an issue and the other one verbally said that they could see some distortion but it did not justify them to do a replacement but that glass degrades over time and to just ask them to check the mirror next time when I get an oil change so that they can test to see if it's bad enough to justify a replacement. They would not give me that statement in writing. Also, as I write this I have a friend whose from out of State visiting me and they rented a car (same exact car, a 2024 Ford Edge) and I looked at the driver's side mirror on that one and the glass was perfect... So I now know for a fact my vehicle has defective glass and Ford doesn't want to do anything about it, instead my family and my safety is jeopardized each and every time I drive the vehicle due to a blurry driver's side mirror. I wish I could get a good picture of it but the distortion doesn't show up on my camera, but it is indeed there. It's hard to explain but when I look at it, it's as if I'm wearing out of focus glasses and as I mentioned earlier, I don't feel that's safe.

- #11573910February 26, 2024SEAT BELTS
This vehicle was purchased new during April of 2023. Since the date of purchase it has been and continues to be impossible for a heavyset person to fasten the seatbelt while seated in the right rear seat. This is due to the following facts. The seat belt buckle at that location ONLY is physically different than all the other buckles in the rest of the vehicle. This renders a standard Edge seatbelt extension unusable at that location ONLY. While a part number exists for this unique, single location application seat belt extension, THE PART ITSELF DOES NOT ACTUALLY EXIST. Despite having been on "backorder" for nearly one year now, Ford is evidently refusing to manufacture and/or supply this vital safety appliance. Accordingly, the fact remains that, each and every time our heavyset family member rides in the right rear seat of this otherwise wonderful vehicle, THEIR LIFE IS POTENTIALLY AT RISK! I checked with the parts department at Riverview Ford in Oswego, IL yesterday and was told that "the part is still on backorder with no ETA." Your help is respectfully requested in resolving this crucial safety issue. Sincerely yours, [XXX] , [XXX] , [XXX] Cellular (Text and Voice), [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The car was loaded with mold throughout. We had to trade it in because it could not be repaired. Now I see the car is on a used car lot at same dealer in Elyria Ohio. This is wrong as the mold made me deathly sick. We had to get rid of lit and took a large loss as to not have the vehicle anymore. This is serious. The mold was all over the car and in the vent system. There was still standing water in the spare compartment and floors and glove box. I put a petri dish in the back seat for an hour which I uploaded.

- #11566492January 19, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: SENSING SYSTEM: RADAR
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle was significantly close to the vehicle in front of him; however, the Forward Collision Avoidance system failed to engage. A message indicating that the Forward Collision Avoidance sensors had failed was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the failure was due to the detachment of the bracket attached to the front bumper. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the Adaptive Cruise Control mode was inoperable while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who made the same assessment and charged a repair fee. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist because the failure might have been caused by a frontal collision; however, the contact stated that the front of the vehicle did not show signs of a front impact collision. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

- #11564144January 8, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I was driving the Ford Edge and the roads were a little slick so I was driving very slow. I was about 2 blocks from my house when I needed to engage the brakes to come to a complete stop, which happened to be going downhill toward a stop sign that intersected with a freeway off ramp. Both the brakes and ABS failed to engage and I hit a guard rail across the intersection. This caused significant damage to my vehicle and was very lucky that no one was hurt. The "Check Brake System" only came up after I ran into the guard rail, which was also the only time I needed to fully engage the brake to come to a full stop. The shop confirmed that the accident would not have damaged the brakes.

I noticed a clicking noise coming from the right front wheel when turning left. I also notice when I put the vehicle into drive I hear a clicking sound. I was driving came to a stop and heard a click sound when I took off. I would guess it's the actual drive shaft that is bad.

- #11561794December 25, 2023SEATS, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
I got the Edge in 02/18/23 purchased brand. I noticed that the drivers seat is loose. I actual took into the dealer where it was purchased and I was told it would take 3 months to look at it. Needless to say I didn't leave the vehicle. I also notice that body trim was coming off and I filed a claim with Ford but I was told a dealer would have to send pictures and they would decide if they would cover it under warranty. The lane keep assist or Ford Co-pliot will over compensate and if not careful will cause a crash.

While braking for a red light the car jerked sporadically as it slowed with normal braking applied but the brakes delayed while vehicle jerked and lunged forward. Vehicle lunged forward into the intersection even further past the red light while brake was compressed aggressively, lunged forward 2-3 feet. Then engine died after it lunged forward. Took 2 attempts to restart car and had to rev the engine to move from blocking intersection.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where parts of the interior of the vehicle were removed to dry out the interior of the vehicle; however, the dealer then discovered there was a crack in the windshield which caused the failure. After two weeks in the possession of the dealer, the vehicle was returned to the contact; however, the vehicle failed to start up after several attempts. The vehicle was driven and towed to the dealer on multiple occasions where diagnostics were performed but no defects were found. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure.
