My 2022 Ford Edge Titanium (equipped with the 8F35 transmission) is exhibiting severe shuddering, jerking, harsh shifting, lurching, and hesitation. I just received the $8,500 cost estimate to rebuild the transmission on my car that is only 3 years old due to the torque converter failure. These faulty Ford Motor Co transmissions are on back-order due to so many failures across the country. This high out-of-pocket repair cost count is HALF of the money I still currently owe on this vehicle. It is available for inspection if someone comes to inspect it within the next couple of weeks because I have no choice but to have it repaired. I am a nurse who has a job to get to on a daily basis. It causes severe shuddering, harsh shifting, and sudden loss of power when I am traveling and trying to accelerate in traffic or cross dangerous intersections. It has been thoroughly inspected by a certified transmission mechanic who is very well versed on this same particular issue with all of these particular Ford Edge transmissions that enter his shop on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. Their were no warning lamps, messages, and no other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The issues first starting appearing around a year after purchasing the car, so probably around XXX. I purchased the car from a Ford dealership in [XXX] on XXX. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The “fix” for the rear camera has not resolved the issue. My rear camera worked for a short time after the fix was downloaded, but then stopped working. I don’t know what to do to fix it.

I bought a 2021 Ford Edge SEL in April 2024. I had problems with the car jurking at low speeds pretty much the whole time I had it. I just recently had to replace my transmission due to the whole thing failing. It just randomly went out while driving.

On June 20th 2026 while driving my 2023 Ford Edge SEL AWD at approximately 35mph on an active hwy (93 AZ NB in Wickenburg AZ) the vehicle experienced a sudden catastrophic loss of motive power and came to a sudden stop in a jerking motion. The vehicle completely disabled itself without warning in live traffic, presenting an immediate and severe safety hazard to myself and surrounding motorists. I was forced to stay in an immobile position impeding the flow of traffic and could not coast safely out of the way of hazardous traffic conditions and subsequently was almost hit by a semi-truck and another POV. The vehicle was subsequently towed out of the hwy with law enforcement present for safety and the local repair shop provided a quick analysis of transmission failure. About 2 weeks later, the vehicle was towed by AAA to another mechanic and subsequently an authorized Ford Dealership where through diagnostic evaluation and repair. The official scan log revealed a critical internal failure of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) identified by Diagnostic Trouble Code P0600 (serial communication link failure). This total electronic communication breakdown immediately triggered an un-commanded cascade of secondary transmission performance faults, specifically P0751 (shift solenoid A Stuck off) and P2700, P2701, P2704, P27B2, P27B4 (transmission friction element application time/performance faults). The failure terminated in codes P073D (unable to engage neutral), P07E4 (unable to engage gear 7), and P07E6 (unable to engage gear 8) which locked the powertrain. Crucially, this sudden module collapse and cascading powertrain destruction occurred exactly 81 days following a mandated Factory Recall regarding the PCM was performed by an authorized FORD dealership on my vehicle. The engineering evidence suggests that a corrupted software flash or module disruption during the recall process caused the master PCM to issue erratic hydraulic line pressure commands, starving the trans

My 2021 Ford Edge is experiencing a severe transmission defect. When accelerating between 22 mph and 35 mph, the vehicle hesitates, stumbles, and shudders violently (transmission shudder). The transmission struggles to engage gears properly, causing unexpected jerking and a sudden loss of acceleration power. This behavior creates a dangerous driving hazard when merging into traffic or changing lanes. This issue is consistent with Ford's Technical Service Bulletin (TSB 21-2092) regarding the 8F35 8-speed automatic transmission.

When driving at lower speeds the car jerks/misses. A local Ford dealership confirmed it's the torque converter. Even purchased a warranty that is suppose to cover the issue and even they are being difficult about wanting to fix it!

There should be a recall on the sunvisors. Because it is a safety issue, because when the Sun is in your face and you can't see driving it can very well cause an accident or getting a ticket for not being able to see your speed that you're going, because you're so far up trying to get the Sun out of your face. You can't see any of the controls or your dashboard.. That is a safety hazard. My driver's side one is broken. I can't use it at all and I'm not paying $200 to get it fixed. That's insane on top of that.My passenger side is one is starting to break as well. Also, my car is very sluggish. When i'm driving, it is sluggish back and forth like it doesn't get good acceleration. There should be a recall for that.As well. I've also noticed when I'm stopped at a light, and I slowly let off the brake the car start to jump.

Vehicle Information Year: 2024 Make: Ford Model: Edge VIN: [XXX] Description of the Safety Issue I am submitting this complaint regarding the unexpected failure of the panoramic glass roof on my 2024 Ford Edge. The vehicle was parked in my residential driveway. As I began backing out of the driveway, I heard a very loud explosion or bang. I immediately stopped and inspected the vehicle. I discovered that the panoramic glass roof had shattered outward. There had been no collision, no rollover, no object striking the vehicle, and no severe weather. The vehicle had simply been sitting in my driveway before I began backing out. The interior sunshade was closed at the time of the incident. After the glass shattered, a substantial amount of broken glass remained on top of the closed sunshade and around the roof opening. I also observed that there was essentially no broken glass in my driveway, which suggests the glass failed from within the panel rather than from an external impact. This sudden failure occurred without warning and created a significant safety concern. Had this happened while I was driving at highway speeds with passengers in the vehicle or with the sunshade open, the results could have been much more dangerous due to falling glass and the driver's distraction. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this incident to determine whether similar failures are occurring in 2024 Ford Edge vehicles and whether this represents a potential safety defect involving panoramic sunroofs. My torque converter is malfunctioning, there are no warning lights, and my car only started driving differently very recently in the past couple of weeks. According to the Ford mechanic my car has been throwing error codes since early May. The dealership was able to confirm that this happens, and that my torque converter needs to be replaced. My car is only four years old and only has 75,000 miles on it. Ford refuses to do anything to help with this almost $8000 repair. They also issued a recall for the backup camera, update was pushed to my car that was supposed to correct it, my backup camera now goes black frequently when I am reversing.

Transmission has gone out after only having the vehicle for 2.5 years. It will cost $10,000 to repair and that is not feasible or right. The mileage is at 74,000 but the warranty expired at 60,000. Ford should be held accountable for building these vehicles with awful transmissions.

The motorized track assembly separated from the moonroof interior sunshade on my 2022 Ford Edge, leaving the sunshade drooping down in the passenger compartment. While my vehicle is just out of the standard bumper to bumper warranty period, I feel Ford Motor Company should issue a repair recall to all affected owners to fix this issue.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions and making a turn, there was an abnormal clicking sound coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact added that her husband did donuts continuously and observed the sound. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the sound in the rear axle was coming from the left rear differential. The mechanic stated that the rear differential fluid had been leaking oil for a while and that the rear differential needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact associated the failure with Manufacturer Recall: 21S02. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
