1. This issue is with the image produced by the backup camera as its image is dim and not very clear, especially at night. At daytime the image is also dim. I had 3 previous models of the same Ford Edge Titanium 2013, 2016 & 2019 all had a similar backup camera albeit with the image on a smaller screen and never had an issue with the brightness/ clarity of the image. The issue I'm reporting is on a brand new 2024 Ford Edge Titanium with a much larger and screen, the car has 850 miles on it as of today, the issue was apparent from day one after I took delivery but took it in to investigate the issue on 9/13/2023 - 2. It is becomes very obvious that something is wrong every time I back up from my driveway at night, the same poorly lit image appears. This a serious issue. - 3. I took it into the dealership where I bought it from. They could see my complaint and even compared it to a 2023 model, the images were the same, dim. The service department reported to me today that they discussed my issue with Ford who had no fix for it nor did they hear of such a complain before and suggested that the brightness on the screen be adjusted which the dealer technician did but did not produce any change to the image. - 4. No warning lights or signs of malfunction appeared on the screen before or after.

I've been having intermediate issues with my 2022 Ford Edge starting and leaving me stranded with no warning signs. Its been to (2) dealers to be serviced ( Avis Ford & Suburban Ford of Waterford) both dealers have been unable to diagnose the issue. My vehicle only have 26000 miles and is still under manufactures warranty. I leased to prevent such issues and have been left in unsafe circumstances numerous times and not that the Summer weather has begun, I'm afraid that myself with server Asthma will be left along side a road or parking lot with no air conditioning as my vehicle wont start.

My 2021 Ford Edge SEL with 22,000 miles on it, bought new less than 2 years ago, would intermittently show a warning notification on the dash saying “AWD temporarily disabled”. The car drove different when the warning came on. It was slow to accelerate and more difficult to turn. It happened twice in a span of 2 months. I brought it to the dealer and they diagnosed it as a “faulty rear differential”. They told me this is a known Ford issue and directed me to a service bulletin put out by Ford regarding this issue stating Ford is aware. My car did not have normal warning signs- no noises, no vibration, no smell, and I would have never known something was wrong if the warning didn’t pop up those two random times. I was told if the equipment failed while driving, the car could’ve seized up and wouldn’t move. They acknowledged that this is a real safety concern as there were no issues with the car except when the AWD disabled itself temporarily. The car drove normal when it started working again not long after. My car will have been at the dealer 6 days by the time I get it back, estimating about $1500 in repairs (thank you warranty). The car is serviced and maintained regularly and well cared for. This should NOT have happened and put mine and my family’s safety at risk.

Unintended Hands-Free Liftgate Activation: When standing next to or loading items into the rear cargo area the lift gate will begin to close on its own. On two occassions I have been hit on the head and also on my shoulder. No injuries were incurred. This is a random occurance. The issue has been reported to the Ford delership, McDonald Ford in Freeland MI, on several occasions. The most recent being April 13, 2023. The service advisor presented me with a Ford bulletin, SSM 51360, which states "This is a normal condition and repairs are not necessary." I feel that this is a safety issue, especially for seniors who may not be able to react as quickly as I did in order to avoid injury.

I have had the liftgate lower unexpectedly in two separate incidents causing injury. The first happed two weeks ago at a filling station. I was exited the passenger side and walked behind the car to reach the pump. When I got to the pump I turned around to go back to get my wallet. At that moment I struck the liftgate and it cut my head because it had opened without warning and I turned directly into it. (I am 6'2" tall). The second time was today. I was putting groceries into the car and I turned to get more groceries from the cart. As I turned back towards the car, the liftgate was lowering without warning and clobbered me in the head again. I have a picture from today. While these are the only two occurrences that I was injured, there have been others where I was able to quickly catch the tailgate as it tried to close while I was standing there. In all of these cases I do not have my foot near the sensor. I will be calling the dealer tomorrow to make an appointment. This is very dangerous particularly for taller people. When the gate closes there is a faint sound coming from the front of the car but it is hard to hear when you are in a parking lot. This has been going on since purchase, but this month is the first time I was injured.

- #11504594January 31, 2023LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
1) The lane keeping assistance feature was engaged. 2) I observed an upcoming snow drift across the road. 3) I stepped on the brakes to slow down. 4) I observed there was no oncoming traffic (two lane road). 5) I moved over towards the center of the road to better navigate the snow drift. 6. The lane keeping assistance feature adjusted my steering to move me back into my lane (closer to the ditch). 7. The vehicle entered the snow drift with my wheels turned to the right. 8. The snow drift impaired the lane keeping assistance feature. 9. I lost control of the vehicle. 10. I hit a utility pole. Does the user manual instruct the operator to disengage the lane keeping assistance feature during snow and icy conditions?
