While driving on July 31, 2023 the low oil pressure lamp appeared, loud knocking sound and loss of power occurred. I immediately pulled over, parked, and had car towed to Colma Ford, Colma, CA. The next day they left a vm saying they'll get back to me throughout the week. It probably needs an engine. This was without diagnostics. I then towed it to a reputable shop who also said it needs an engine but they don't want to do the repairs due to this engine having so many problems and the parts not being readily available. Next I towed it to James Ford, Half Moon Bay, CA where they performed diagnostics and confirmed it needs an engine. The engines, however, are on backorder with no estimation of availability. The car remains there at this time. I've had to rent a car the entire time. I bought the car in March 2023 as certified preowned with 58978 miles from Enterprise Car Sales, Redwood City, CA with a 1yr/12000 mile warranty. When breakdown occurred I had 68498 miles so it is under warranty, repairs approved, but parts not available.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
For the 2nd time in about 8-10 months, while braking and having nearly come to a stop, on a slight incline, the car had a sudden acceleration. Driver repeatedly stomped on the brake as the car tried to leap forward. Extremely dangerous. No warning lights. I know the dealer won’t do anything because they won’t be able to reproduce it. Conditions were mild, slight sprinkle. I bought the car from a dealer with 5000 mile on it. Wonder whether original owner experienced a similar problem.

Saturday 9/3/23 low engine oil pressure light came on and engine started to run sluggish towed to Ford dealer where I was told I had catastrophic engine failure and need to replace engine costing approximately $8,000 on a car I still owe $7500 on metal was found in the oil mileage at the time of the incident 93,445 (all highway miles driven)

LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION, SEATS, ENGINE
I took my car into the ford dealership in Temecula. California and I wanted the seat repaired to warranty specific help. Right after I purchased the car I was in really bad traffic on the Temecula freeway and I leaned back and the seat made a popping sound. I’m now being told by ford Temecula Gosch dealership service dept that they will not fix the seat because it’s not a defective seat and they will not let me speak to anyone in the warranty dept. I’m hoping you can help me get this seat fixed as it slides when I turn my car to the right or left and now I’m having pain in my right leg and back. I’ve taken my car in several times for help and they just play games.

I was driving on the highway to work and the "low oil pressure" alarm went off and I immediately noticed my car would not accelerate so I pulled over. I had it towed to the place I had the oil changed recently thinking it was something they might have done. They told me the oil was full and it seemed like an engine failure. I called my Ford dealer and they had me tow it to them to confirm whether that was the case. I received a call today that said yes, it loomed like the engine would need to be replaced. My car is 5 years old with 62000 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine compartment, and the contact smelled an oil odor inside the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 81,000. The contact was told by a Ford mechanic the engine failure was due to faulty fuel pump.

My car all of a sudden had a low oil pressure sign come on and the acceleration slowed down. The car started rattling. Had it towed to the mechanic. They said I have oil and its clean but the issue was that the oil pump/ belt inside the engine basically gave up. Apparently this is a common issue with this vehicle when it hits around 60-70k miles and I am not sure why.

On 7/18/2023, this vehicle was involved in a fatal crash. The vehicle stopped moving and would not proceed forward after stopping major roadway. A motorcycle struck the vehicle from behind and the two occupants were killed. The owner of the vehicle contacted the dealership where she bought it from on 7/1/2023, in which they did not locate the issue. The owner of the vehicle said that the issue has happened numerous times before the crash occurred.

Was driving 40mph and car stalled.no engin light came on A message came up said put car in park and restart.it also happened backing out of my driveway I bought this car 7 months ago.took it to the dealership they test drove it and said it didn't happen. I said it doesn't always but 2 times now.told them to keep it and do diagnosis on it Very dangerous problem.i Haven't heard from them yet They are very busy now.that was 3 days ago.august 21st. They need a recall.hope they don't wait for someone to get injured Florida Daytona beach

I appears my oil pump has failed and the car has no power and a low oil pressure alert is on the dashboard. This failure happened while my 17 year old daughter was driving on HWY 290 in Austin, TX. This caused her vehicle to stall in the middle of traffic which was very dangerous. She was able to start the care and immediately pull over in traffic, but the care would not go very good at all. There were no warning lights on in the vehicle when this happened.

On July 26, 2023 while traveling on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in the tunnel, the rear spoiler, which is attached to the Rear Header flew off my vehicle’s roof. Upon inspection of the Rear Header, there are clips which snapped off and broken, which are manufacturing defects.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the low oil pressure message was displayed. The vehicle would not accelerate and decelerated independently. The contact was able to pull over on the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated that the oil pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that there were no recalls on the VIN for the failure. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 71,000.

2018 EcoSport with 64k miles. After highway travel stopped at a gas station, the vehicle had a low engine oil pressure light turn on while idling... With a fast knock noise. During highway travel there were no signed of any issues. After towing to dealership, we found the OIL SUMP TENSIONER BELT BROKE. Dealership said we need a new motor.

I started my vehicle and got out to finish loading up my stuff and it slipped out of gear and flew down my mainly flat driveway backwards. My passenger door was open still and my car hit my husband's truck and peeled back the passenger door all the way to the fender. Since the incident , my car will randomly chime warning lights while driving (ex: road hill assist, service brake system, phone volume when my phone wasn't connected ). I took it to the dealership and they done tests, but the conclusion was not based on the truth because they stated I had an aftermarket product plugged in that never shut off but it does after an amount of time and its just a charger/fm transmitter because i cant connect to the car by bluetooth anymore... Luckily no one was behind it or got hurt, but honestly terrified to drive it because it's so unpredictable.

The engine started knocking while my wife was driving to school . She pulled over I drove to meet her and sent her on to school in my car . I had the car towed to Stivers Ford in Birmingham . They ultimately had to replace the engine due to I think oil pump sudden failure . The date I put as date car failed is approximate .

The vehicle (MAJ6S3KL1NC474743) was impacted on the passenger side and the air bags failed to deploy. the safety risk caused hospital visit and numerous doctor visits. The problem was confirmed by enterprise, PO Box 801770, Kansas City Mo. 64180 Damage Recovery Unit. (866) 300-3239. The following have infer inspection of the vehicle: enterprise, police and the insurance companies. There were no signs of warnings or malfunction or other symptoms prior to the impact from the on coming vehicle.

stoped at gas station for fuel and oil light started flashing with low oil pressure warning. started misfiring and making internal noise shut off only ran 45 sec after light and had to have towed home (200) mi. started researching and found numerous complaints and service messages to dealers prior to purchase. vehicle not repaired yet, i plan on doing myself as i am ASE master tech, with 40 years' experience. should be a recall issued ford is aware of problems.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Ecosport. The contact stated that there was a loud abnormal sound coming from the vehicle at start up. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was discovered that there was coolant intrusion into the engine and there were metal shavings inside the oil pan. The engine was replaced under warranty. Since the initial failure, the engine had failed twice with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer after one of the failures. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. The VIN was unavailable.
