The oxygen sensors have been replaced two times but keep getting a signal about them. Engine light stays on. Keep getting different codes about exhaust levels that are triggering different functions. I was stopped at a light and smelled gas briefly. Went to a store and came back to the car with engine light on. Got a oil change and had spark plugs replaced but still nothing was fixed

I was driving our 2018 Ford Ecosport at highway speed when the "low oil pressure" dashbord light came on. Within a minute or so, the engine stopped and I steered my vehicle to the side of the road. I was unable to restart the engine and had to have it towed to a Ford dealership. After the dealership ran a diagnistic on my vehicle, I was told that the oil pump had failed and that the engine siezed up.

Tailgate door unlatches while driving making the door ajar warning light appear on dash. The door has flung open, while driving. But usually only Makes internal cabin lights turn on. Door opens. While driving. Potentially can cause things to fall out of car while driving, could cause a wreck with cars behind me. It has not been recreated on command, but has happened many times. Dealership has inspected multiple times but no solution or anything found.the door ajar warning light comes on when the door latch fails. Warning light only appears when the issue happens. This happens once a week at least for the last 2 years

The contact owns a 2019 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The check engine and oil pressure warning lights remained illuminated. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The contact was informed that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) but the part was not yet available. The failure mileage was 78,000. The engine kept staling and needing to be jump started. This happended to the point where I loss all power at a light where I ended up causing traffic. This kept happening until my engine light turned on. After the engine light came on, my car could no longer start eventhough the battery was fine. I had a mobile mechanic look at the vehicle and they were unable to find what was wrong even after they had done an engine diagnostic where they had a lot of issues detected on the computer. I have been affected with this since October and as struggling college student I cant afford to have it towed to the dealership. As of January 2024 I have not been able to jump start my car at all even with a good battery. My car is now collecting dust parked on the street by my apartment.

The contact owns a 2020 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated that while driving at 2-3 MPH in the driveway, the vehicle lost oil pressure. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer and was informed that the engine needed to be replaced, but the parts were on backorder. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 84,078.

- #11564233January 8, 2024ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING, VISIBILITY/WIPER
This has happened several times. While driving, the dashboard goes completely black. No gauges, no radio, no turn signals, no power steering, sometimes the wipers will work, no heat, no defrost. As suddenly as it went away everything comes back and the power steering causes the steering wheel to jerk in your hand. I’ve called Ford Customer Relations twice and they are not concerned that that is a safety issue. However, all the gauges went out last night and now won’t come back. I have video of the incident happening while driving but your website won’t allow me to upload it.

August 29, 2023 I was coming to a stop sign and when accelerating from the stop noticed a clung sound from the engine bay of the vehicle and then the low oil pressure warning illuminated. I immediately pulled off the road and shut down the car. I checked the oil level it is good so I had the car towed to my local Ford dealer. They determined that the engine oil pump tensioner let loose and causing catastrophic damage requiring an engine replacement. My vehicle was affected by the service bulletin built before April Ford offered no assistance for me since failure occurred 77800 I’ve owned the vehicle around 7 months at the time bought at 65000 did not receive my vehicle back until mid October with no assistance on a rental vehicle or with the 6000+ repair bill.

My oil pump is faulty just like the others. That I have read about my oil light came on after a warning light dinged on the dash stating that I had low oil pressure issues. My brother in law is a diesel mechanic and took a look at my car and said that if I move my car from my house my engine is ruined. He checked my oil and everything. I was driving back home at very low speeds and couldn’t use my car right now I am paying on a car I can’t use?! This just started 3 days ago. I called my dealership and I can’t afford to pay for them to fix my car!! The dealership is aware of the recall but won’t do anything until they’re allowed too. This is bologna, I have a car that I’m paying for but is broken.

I was driving down the highway and lost complete power. Luckily was able to pull on shoulder before being hit by other vehicles on the road. Ecosport would no longer power on. Had towed and learned that the timing belt had failed due to lack of oil pressure. According to ford, the only way to fix the issue was by replacing the entire motor which took over 3 months to repair. The new motor sounds terrible and scares me every day now. I’m just waiting for a repeat.

I was on my way to work and I had a notice of low engine pressure and my check engine light and maintenance signal came on. It felt as though the car could not accelerate and I heard a "whistle sound". I had just had the oil change a few days prior and nothing was found wrong then. I had it taken to the dealership and they said I will need an entirely new engine and that there were metal and rubber pieces in my oil and in my oil filter. The Moses Ford dealership has told me it is at least 3 to 4 months wait for an engine(currently has been waiting for 1 month now) and has refused to give me loaner vehicle. Ford has also refused to help with a loaner unless I pay for it and my warranty company has also said they cannot help with a long term loaner vehicle (only 10 days would be covered)

January 2nd 2024 at 4:45pm driving at the speed of 57 mph on the highway. Alert appeared on my dashboard Low Engine Fuel. The vehicle was slowing down and there was a loud knocking sounds. My safety was at risk due to ongoing traffic which my speed was dangerously reduced. I was able to make it to the Ford AutoNation Dealership which conducted a diagnostic test results was an engine replacement. Ford Dealer never brought up a recall on the engine oil pump part. I had to notify them after finding out myself with research. CarFax and KellyBlue sent out alerts about this after my accident on January 4th 2024. The vehicle has been in great condition with upkeep of oil changes, tire rotations and brakes. All of the vehicle services and repair was at a Ford dealership. Currently my vehicle mileage is 64,861.

While driving, the oil warning light came on. I took the car to Firestone where they said the oil was very black, but it had been less than 3,000 miles since it was changed last. They changed the oil and the light went off, but after leaving, I made it barely a quarter of a mile when the engine light came on and the car began jerking. I was able to continue driving at a very low speed to pull over safely. After parking, the car shut down and would not start back up. I had to get the car towed to the nearest Ford dealership. They diagnosed the car with an engine failure due to excessive metal debris found in the oil pan as well as in the valve train assembly. Apparently this is a known issue with the EcoSport that I was unaware of until this incident occurred. The fact that Ford knew this was an issue and took no steps to inform me or other consumers is a huge problem. Not only that, I should not have been made to pay for any repairs due to this known issue. It is clear that they went forward with production on this car with faulty parts, including the windshield wiper pump. I can definitely understand why they stopped producing this vehicle and honestly they should all be off the road at this point. I tried to upload the repair invoice, but every time I press the “upload” button, it just disappears.
