Approximately 2-3 months ago, the horn had failed. This was reported to the dealer and covered under warranty. During the service the dealer advised that this issue was due to a faulty electrical contact and was a “known issue with the supplier of the horn”. Because of this, Hyundai extended the warranty period on the horn. Now, the horn had failed a second time and was discovered during a safety hazard in which I needed to alert another driver. This had the potential to cause serious injury but was avoided.

The white paint on the hood began to flake off. Currently, the missing paint is about 3 inches in diameter. There is an appearance of paint bubbling on the roof of the vehicle and in the hood. The vehicle was taken to dealership, but a member of their service department conveyed nothing to be done because no current warranty on it. No outside company has reviewed the issue.

The AC system on my vehicle stopped working with less than 55,000 miles on it. When replacing the compressor, condenser, all AC switches, and lines (the entire AC system besides the ECM), the AC is still not working. The compressor is not kicking on. I have an ECM on order, but myself, and all mechanics (including Hyundai certified mechanics) are all unsure why this would have happened on such a low mileage vehicle. I am EXTREMELY disappointed and frustrated with the experience and not having AC after spending thousands of dollars and time getting it fixed. Please advise ASAP. Attached is the original invoice stating that all that needed to be replaced was the condenser/compressor. I have more files from all of the other replacements provided if needed.

- #11656071April 22, 2025SEAT BELTS
My grandchild just went from a car seat to a booster seat. The back seatbelt buckle is so recessed that you cannot buckle it without 20 minutes of fighting with it! This is a major problem because a child could not get themselves buckled. And it takes an adult 20 minutes to try and buckle the shoulder belt into The seat buckle because it’s so recessed in the backseat. I looked on the Internet to see if there was a way to loosen the belts or extend them from the back and there is nothing so I went to a Hyundai Tucson forum and I see there have been many complaints About the recessed seat buckle not being accessible. This is a major concern for anyone transporting children and their grand grandchildren. I’ve already complained to Hyundai about the car randomly shutting off. Hyundai needs to put out a fix for this or provide Hyundai owners with some kind of extension for that buckle. I also understand that taking it into the dealership didn’t help, because they couldn’t buckle it either.

The engine is failing. Our vehicle continues to experience tremendous oil consumption and it's all of a sudden gone into "limp mode" where we lose engine power even after the knock sensor recall update was performed. No check engine lights, no indication of what's happening and it just loses power on the highway as well as city streets. It's a danger to everyone around us and it's a danger for us as we try to drive the vehicle. The dealer / Hyundai had us do 2 oil consumption tests but would not do anything to fix the issue. They informed us they needed to replace the engine after the first oil consumption but then they backed off of that and didn't fix the issue. It’s just gotten worse. We also had a transmission service done and they said the transmission looked fine. We took it in for a diagnostic just after this as the power issue began in "limp mode" where we lose engine power. They are trying to say it needs a new transmission but with the known issues with the Hyundai oil consumption and engine issues where the vehicles go into power loss / limp mode, we’re reporting this issue for our safety and the safety of the community as it’s unsafe to drive this care. We hope you will push Hyundai to do a recall for the engine not just for us but for all Hyundai Owners who are dealing with the same issue.

Engine experienced a catastrophic failure. Driving (normal commute) and clicking noise start coming from the engine. Got louder over a short time, but no dash waring lights came on. Further along the check engine light came, and when it started flashing I pulled over and called for roadside assistance (tow). No other warning lights came on. Engine temp read normal throughout. After the dealer service team reviewed, said the engine block was cracked and metal noted in the oil and filter. I contacted Hyundai USA to see if they would cover engine replacement. After a few days of review and back and forth with the dealer, they declined any claim. Dealer service rep quoted us approx $20k for engine replacement. We opted to sell to salvage company and now need to buy another car. Just over 66,000 miles and complete loss.

Car started to not accelerate when pressing on gas pedal the RPMs would not raise or lower during this time it could be on a hill or on a flat surface at any type of stops whether it was a stop sign or a stoplight it didn't matter how much gas you gave the car it would not move and then it would start bouncing what I would describe as hopping the car would start jerking constantly until you released off the gas and gave it more gas until it would finally go this was happening on highways or on city streets while driving down a highway my engine made a funky sound and it turns out my engine rods blue I went to the dealership they told me my car was safe to drive I continued driving my car until it started not shifting this was 3 days after going to the dealership. I called the dealership back told them I was bringing my car to them due to the issues it was having. After several weeks the dealership told me my car needed a brand new engine and transmission due to engine rods breaking transmission went out and metal in the oil filter. Not even 6 months later my car is have the exact same issues and my dealership is not want to do anything to fix my car even with having a warranty to cover everything they fixed.

My 2022 Hyundai Tuscon is in the shop for a SECOND time due to a bad fuel injector. The first time was 4 months ago. My vehicle's check engine light went on and it went into "limp mode" on a major roadway. (I take all major highways to work.) A vehicle going into "limp mode" on a highway is super dangerous. My check engine light went on once again, and I brought it into the dealership service center. I left it there for 36 hours, only to learn that they did not have the parts on site to do the repairs. I have to bring it BACK for another 24-36 hours for the repair to be completed on a SECOND bad fuel injector. How Hyundai hasn't issued a recall for the fuel injectors yet is appalling.

I leased a brand new 2025 Hyundai Tucson on March 15, 2025, with fewer than 10 miles on the odometer. Shortly after driving an additional 10 miles, the vehicle’s screen malfunctioned, displaying burn-in and becoming non-functional. This issue significantly affects safety, as it renders the backup camera unusable during operation. The vehicle was first brought in for service on March 17, 2025, but the issue was not resolved. Subsequent service attempts were made on March 20, April 9, and most recently on April 11, 2025. As of today, the problem remains unresolved. The vehicle has been in the service center for approximately 15 days since the date of purchase. In addition to the defective screen, the vehicle failed to start on one occasion, leaving me stranded alone in a parking lot, stuck in accessory mode with the brake locked. The car has also exhibited alignment issues, consistently pulling to the left while driving, which has required two alignments since the purchase date.

In December 2024, the engine lost power while driving. We were able to pull over on a busy road, where we were blocking traffic on a curve. We had it towed to the dealership. There was no warning or light indicating any problem. Thankfully we were not on the freeway when this occurred. The Hyundai app said that all systems in the vehicle were normal. The fuel injector was replaced by Hyundai. Now, 4 months later, the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealership, and another fuel injector needed to be replaced. The service manager stated that he requested that all of the fuel injectors be replaced because this is a known issue, but Hyundai denied the request, so they only replaced one fuel injector. I am expecting this to happen again, and I am especially worried that the vehicle could lose power while driving on the freeway. Please note that this vehicle was purchased new, and I have had all the scheduled maintenance performed at the Hyundai dealership.

The sunroof on my Hyundai Tucson will not close. Seems to be a motor problem. I brought it to a mechanic and it will be a lot of money to fix. I have looked up if this is a common problem and it’s all over the internet. I am not sure if it should be a recall. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while the vehicle was stationary, the contact attempted to open the tank door and pressed the button; however, the tank door failed to open to refuel the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the contact was able to open the fuel tank. The vehicle was not diagnosed by the dealer because of the diagnostic fee. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had experienced the failure intermittently for over five months. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

Multiple owners of the 2025 Tucson Hybrid Limited AWD have reported the same issue with the vehicle's "Driver Assistance Warning" system. The system constantly beeps and, sometimes, takes control of the vehicle, slowing it down, and forcing the driver to pull over. This happened to my wife and me on our recent roundtrip from Apache Junction, AZ, to Los Angeles. In the middle of jam-packed, six-lane freeways with vehicles traveling at 70 mph or more the Tucson would beep-beep-beep and say "Keep your eyes on the road." But, of course, the driver's eyes were on the road. Then the system would take control and slow the car down to 30 mph or so, creating a terrifying and highly dangerous situation. And this is supposed to be a safey sytem. The system obviously was not properly tested in real-life road situations. Apparently, the height of the driver's eyes, their arm position while holding the wheel, whether they're wearing sunglasses . . . all sorts of factors seem to confuse the system and cause it to act when it should do nothing. I have turned off all the driver assistance warnings possible, but it makes no difference. And other drivers report having the same issues--unwarranted, dangerous reactions by the car that cannot be stopped by turning the driver assistance features off. Hyundai has failed in its duty to properly test its driver assistance features. The most rudimentary road testing would have revealed these issues, but Hyundai has put these vehicles on the market without the appropriate testing. Someone needs to do something about it.

- #11654830April 15, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The Driver Attention Warning continues to go off shutting the cruise control off. This happens continuously and is a safety issue when driving in traffic and the vehicle suddenly decelerates. This causes traffic behind you to almost reared you because the vehicle decelerates so quickly. Hyundai suggests to move seat, not to wear glasses and other options that in themselves are additional safety concerns as seat positioning and glasses are needed for driving. So far my car has had the sensor located on top of the steering column shimmed up, and wiring harness replaced all to no satisfactory conclusion. Hyundai is aware of the issue, but has no solution to the issue. I’ve been in a loaner for almost 2 months while they string me along looking for a solution. Something needs to be done to fix this safety concern.

As I am driving on the Garden State Parkway on sunny days and rainy days at approx 70-75 mph the Emergency Braking System notification activated on the dashboard in red, a noise activates and the car feels like it is going to stop short. This seems to occur about one and a half hours into my ride There are no cars in front of me or directly next to me. This occurs randomly and has happened seven or eight times since I leased the car in December 2024. It is very scary and the service techs at the dealership where I leased it cannot duplicate the occurrence because it is random. I feel unsafe driving the car because I am afraid at some point the car may stop on the highway. As it is now it feels like it is going to stop because it slows down.

This vehicle has a notification "Consider taking a break." It activates every 20-30 minutes, even though I am a safe driver. It is distraction to driving, whith is less safe than the warning itself. I would like for you to contact Hyundai to find a way to disconnect this, for they say it can not be disabled. Diosabling can be done on older models, but not newer models. I have a 2025 Hyundai Tuscon. It is a sfety hazard.
