i bought the car used, i took it in for diagnostics on my transmission. they claimed i needed a new one, not claiming i need a new clutch. my car’s model and year match the DCT recall problems. but not the vin. when my car was in the heat or accelerating it had the same issues listed. i believe this is a manufacturing issue.

I have raised issues with Hyundai with the first week of driving this Tucson Hybrid. I have ask repeatedly to get the collision control turned off, The dealership said they could not turn it off with permission form Hyundai. Hyundai so called customer service escalated it now several times and not a single call back. I was assigned a specialist named Lejo ,National Consumer Affairs, Hyundai Motor America 714-627-9707. Because he is no longer able to help he told me it was escalated and got yet to this day to hear back from anyone. This vehicle has tried to kill us several times and the dealership and Hyundai have been made aware of what it has done. Slamming on the breaks and warning collision, pulling you almost in the ditch because it was raining? This has happen several times. The same thing when a cars turns the corner and is leaving the main road and as i move to the passing lane the car said warning and actually pulled us back behind the car we were passing and then hit the brakes and almost rear ended to car we were trying to avoid. This system can be manually be turned off by me but comes on each time the vehicle is started again. I am only asking that Hyundai permanently shut it off for the duration of my lease. Because of the safety issues with this 2025 Tucson Hybrid I feel it necessary to inform the public and HHTSA. If Hyundai does not turn it off then they need to be prepared to buy back the lease, Hyundai is well aware of the problems as they have issued a TSB 25-GI-017H Apparently you only are to drive away from the sun ,avoid rain, fog and snow? Instrument display and head up display go off and on at random times. Occasionally both are off at the same time so I can not see how fast I am going or use the video feed when signalling to turn. At times, all warning lights are on and do not go off so I am unable to tell if there is a problem with the vehicle.

I am the original owner of my 2017 Hyundai Tucson. I am a [XXX] retired teacher. I became aware that my 2017 Hyundai Tucson was consuming oil in August 2024. I took my Tucson to Buerkle Hyundai, where it was purchased, and they set my vehicle up for oil consumption testing. Every 1,000-1,100 miles my car's oil level needed to be checked by an authorized Hyundai dealership. This required time and planning. I began working with Luther Hyundai in Burnsville, MN for testing as they are close to my house and requested to take over when I brought my vehicle in for the first check. This engine issue is covered by my 10 year/100,000 mile warranty. My vehicle's oil level was checked as required for the testing. Hyundai considers a vehicle burning 1 quart of oil or less per 1,000 miles to be acceptable. My vehicle consistently consumed oil and when checked May 9, 2025, in 817 miles my car had consumed 1.5 quarts of oil. My vehicle had 88,689 miles on it. My car met the requirements for a new engine, which I'd been told was the warranty repair. Luther Hyundai, Burnsville, MN submitted the repair request. Next I was told I'd have to provide oil change invoices. I brought in oil change invoices for the past four years. Then I was told I'd need to provide invoices dating back to the purchase of the car, 8 years of maintenance records. That seemed extreme but I provided those. Somehow Hyundai Warranty Division is stating my vehicle maintenance is negligent despite having my oil change records that proved otherwise. They have denied warranty repair. Luther Hyundai's service manager wrote emails stating that my vehicle had been well taken care of and serviced. Hyundai Warranty division refused the repair again. When I asked for a written statement of reasoning I was told they could not send one. My vehicle is not safe to drive. I cannot understand how Hyundai can deny a valid warranty claim. I need my Tucson repaired and the warranty honored. I'm unable to upload all files. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFOR

The message “Consider taking a coffee break” will pop up just 15 minutes into a trip. This message beeps prior to flashing on the screen which causes us to take our eyes off the road to determine what is beeping and continues to “alert” us often during our travels. Hyundai has not provided a way for this warning to be deactivated. Hyundai has way too many messages beeping and appearing on the screen that causes distractions and has not provided a way to turn them off. As for the speed control, my ophthalmologist suggested I wear dark sunglasses due to issues I have in bright sunlight. The speed control will actually turn off if I wear dark sunglasses because the onboard camera cannot see my eyes. Also, the speed control will turn off if I’m making a turn and my arm gets in the way of the camera. This is extremely dangerous that the speed control just stops. We also will get beeps and a message on the screen if the camera cannot see our eyes, even when we are looking straight ahead. Again, this causes us to see what is beeping and what the message says. This is a distraction that causes us to take our eyes off the road. Terrible design.

The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the "Check Brake Light" message was displayed on the instrument panel, and the screen indicated that the rear brake light bulb was defective. The vehicle was initially taken to an independent mechanic where the brake light bulb was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where the contact was informed that the brake light bulb had failed because the bulb was an aftermarket part. The contact had the brake light bulb replaced with an authorized Hyundai part; however, that part also failed soon after the bulb was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact back to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer but was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

There is a very well known issue with Hyundai (and Kia) and oil consumption issues, no recalls have been issued yet and I am another person dealing with this without any real support from Hyundai to solve the issue. In 2024 I did an oil consumption test, they found it was burning oil excessively and I had to pay $700 out of pocket for a cleaning they recommended. Afterwards it was burning only 1 quart every 1k miles which they said is acceptable so we moved on. Less than a year later I am still dealing with this issue only it has gotten worse, I am burning 5-6 quarts every 1k miles. I do keep up with my oil changes, I now have to check it and top it off almost daily, and even without being a car expert I know that something HAS to be done... why aren't there any recalls yet? Despite keeping up with my maintenance, there are other issues that can be related from this issue, including the engine stalling or skipping which is a safety issue when driving.

My entire dashboard goes black and I lose all directions and functions in car. It happens when driving often. Additionally after taking to dealership, it's getting worse. Now warning lights come on and stay on such as master warning lights, batteries, power steering, etc. AC shuts off, the car misses out when driving between 25 and 30 mph. The dealership told me it's not safe to drive.

The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Tucson. While the contact’s daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally loud knocking sound coming from the vehicle before the engine seized. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 83,500.

Loud knocking in the engine that increases or decreases with the rpm. Metal shavings found in the oil. Appears to be same issues described as active recall for 2017 Tucson’s, but no recall for this vin. No alerts were or have been triggered within the car. This has not been brought to a dealership out of fear of seizing the engine.

I was driving on the highway, about to change lanes, when I looked in my rear view mirror and saw black smoke coming from my appeared to be my exhaust. I immediately started to pull over, and that is when the oil light first appeared on my dashboard. By the time I had put the car in park, the check engine light had also appeared. After calling my boyfriend and a tow truck, I exited the vehicle and noticed a large pool of oil by my front tire. With the car on the tow truck, I could see oil continue to drip out. The car was towed to the local Hyundai dealership. Since this occurred on a Saturday afternoon, the service dept. was closed, and Hyundai called me on Monday, Aug 11, 2025 to explain that i should contact the auto mechanic that last changed my oil, as the oil plug had fallen out, and my engine had seized. (Had I not noticed the smoke right away, I could have been in an accident on the highway when the engine seized.) I explained to Hyundai that I had my oil changed 3,000 miles ago, and hadn't seen any indication of oil leakage, nor had the oil light come on prior to the incident on Aug 9, 2025. Hyundai insited I contact the oil change mechanics as it was clearly a craftsmanship defect, not the fault of Hyundai parts or material. Hyundai provided photos showing the oil plug was still laying on the block. I visited Superior Auto (mechanics that did the previous oil change) and they also deny responsibility due to the fact that the car drove fine for 3,000 miles without any indication of oil leakage, so there is no proof of fault craftsmanship.

- #11679664August 10, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, POWER TRAIN, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
I recently purchased this car and just took it on our first highway trip of about 1100 miles. I experienced Three Problems that are a safety concern. 1. "Need to take a Coffee Break Notification." This comes on frequently and is distracting. No need to have that come on. When driving in heavy traffic at speed, this is too distracting. There is no way to turn it off. 2. Camera focused on the driver. If I take a drink from my water bottle, looking around the water bottle to see the road, the camera can not see my face/eyes. It then shuts off my cruise control, makes a noise, scares my wife, and distracts me from driving. This has happened to me in heavy urban traffic going through cities on my last trip. 3. The cruise control is linked to communication from outside the car. When driving in the mountains, there are times when the signal is lost, the cruise control stops working, the car emits a noise signally a problem, my wife screams, I lose concentration on what is going on as the car decelerates quickly and the semi truck behind me comes very close to the rear of the car. Potential accident caused by this silly system. There is no way to disable "adaptive cruise control" and resort to a system that does not rely on outside communication. The car has about 3000 miles on the odometer and I am ready to trade it in/get rid of it. I am greatly disappointed.

The Heads Up Display and Digital Instrument Panel suddenly go blank as if switched off resulting in no speedometer, tachometer, malfunction indicator lamps, temperature gauge, TPMS, and integrated ADAS components including lane keeping, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, 360 camera functionality. These failures are intermittent and can last for seconds or minutes while operating the vehicle. Onset seems to be related to ambient temperatures, routine ride disturbances, acceleration and deceleration activities in the normal course of vehicle operation. The issue has been a topic of discussion on several online owners forums. Owners report that Hyundai dealers have attempted to resolve this issue unsuccessfully with harness replacement, pin and connector retensioning efforts, and display replacement.

Unbearable Sound While Driving the Car, Causing Ear Numbness and Safety Concerns I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle from the dealership with the expectation that it would be free from defects. On the very first day, during the drive back home, the vehicle began making a persistent rattling noise that was both distracting and concerning. The sound was so severe that it caused ear numbness within just a few minutes and made it difficult to concentrate on driving, raising serious safety concerns. Upon arriving home, I immediately contacted the dealership to report the issue but received no positive or constructive response. I reported this matter to Hyundai Motor America Customer Service on April 1, 2025. It has now been almost five months, and they have been unable to resolve the issue and mentioning its cosmetics defect. Therefore, I am reaching out to you to address this safety concern and request that precautionary action be taken against Hyundai Motor America, USA. The noise and vibration are so extreme that ear numbness occurs within 2–3 minutes of driving, making the vehicle unsafe to operate and safety concersn. Thanking you. This is my third report for this car, same issue keeps recurring. The FCA locked up the brakes for no valid reason, again. I was driving uphile in a parking garage, there were cars parked on both sides of my driving lane. I entered a left turn while going up the garage. There were cars parked on the right side of the turn lane. As I got into the left turn, my car slammed on the brakes and I came to a complete stop. There were no moving cars or people in front of me. Only parked cars.
