Car broke down first time about 2.5 months ago. It was towed to Fred Beans Hyundai of Doylestown PA and they did oil testing on it and I was told that the car was burning oil too fast. They told me under warranty they needed to do a carbon combustion cleaning. So that was down, and less than 24 hours of having the car back, the check engine light came back on, the car wouldn’t drive above 50 miles per hour, and was jumping forward (the same thing that happened the first time) I had the car towed back to the dealership and they told me there was still leftover carbon and it needed to cleaned out again. The car was fine for about 2 months, however just today it broke down again. Same problem, check engine light came on and started flashing, the car will not go above 50 MPH and it jumps forward. I have now been given back a car that is unsafe to drive and put my family and 2 times. Clearly the dealership is not fixing the actual problem at hand and continues to put my family and i’s safety at risk. Each time the car has broken down I have been on the pa turnpike and been put in an extremely dangerous situation.

- #11682691August 24, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
On long road trip from TX to MA Started before dawn and route initially [XXX] . With sunrise route was into sun and so I used my sun glasses. Within a few minutes a warning gong and light on instrument panel litup. I did not know what the cause was and then unannounced the Adaptive cruise control lane holding and steering shut off and the vehicle seemed to brake quite vigorously. There were a few cars behind me and due to my vehicle suddenly slowing down they had to brake unexpectedly. They then honked at me and passed quite aggressively and gesturing their displeasure with me. I called hyundai tech support they where of no help. I asked for a manager - who called back and I was told it is because I used my sun glasses! I was told it would always happen if sunglasses where used and I could not cancel this feature without disabiling the "safety" features that i considered when purchasing the vehicle on 24th [XXX]. I was told I should not use polarized glasses which my pair Is Not in any event. I requested to speak to a more senior rep and the next day received call from a hyundai rep who stated there was nothing I could to over come this nuisance feature and if I didnt like it I should not have bought the car. I stated I did not know this could or would happen ! In addition every 5 to 10 minutes a warning gong, light and speech notice keeps on popping up and states "I need a rest". In my opinion too, It is also a safety issue as it is a nuisance and consistant and at inopportune times blocking gps commands some times etc. These features, in my opnion, are too frequent too persistant and not helpful. There should be a way for the owner-drver too disable the announcements but have the benefit of the features ie Adaptive Cruise Lane and Steering etc without the car deciding not to allow because sunglasses are needed. That does not enhance safety in my opinion. In my opinion the way it is programmed it is a safety hazard Just suddenly slowing down INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMA

- #11682622August 23, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
My 2025 Hyundai Tucson had approximately 150 miles when the forward collision warning system has started to provide false warnings. The first event happened as I was pulling out of a parking lot where there was a dip in pavement between the lot and road. The dip in the pavement was interpreted as an object about to cause impact so my car automatically applied full braking. I almost got hit from the car behind me who was not expecting me to stop. Now my car has 406 miles on it and I routinely receive warnings about collisions due to nearby cars doing U-turns or cars which I will definitely not hit. A few times it has applied braking which has almost caused several accidents from cars behind me not expecting me to stop.

- #11682198August 21, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
When driving slowly on the highway and changing lanes the car sensed that we were too close to the car in front of us and completely stopped the vehicle. We were not all that close to the car in front of us and we were nearly hit by the car behind us as we stopped. We are concerned that this could happen any time. The car should never stop on its own.

While driving to work on I-26 in the far left lane at approximately 55 mph, my vehicle suddenly and completely shut off without warning. The engine power was lost instantly, forcing the car to come to an abrupt stop in live interstate traffic. I had no prior indication of a problem—no warning lights, no messages, no abnormal performance. It took three attempts to restart the vehicle. When it finally restarted, the engine made a loud knocking noise, and the car could only move at a dangerously slow crawl. I had to cross multiple lanes of high-speed traffic to reach the right shoulder, nearly causing several accidents in the process. Other drivers had to brake hard and swerve to avoid colliding with me. This situation could have easily resulted in a multi-vehicle crash, severe injury, or death. After pulling over and shutting the vehicle off, I checked the oil dipstick and found it completely dry. The engine had failed with no warning whatsoever. The vehicle was later inspected at an independent service center and I was told the engine must be replaced, and that the vehicle is not safe to drive. I am now left without reliable transportation due to this sudden failure. This incident represents an extreme safety hazard. Losing all engine power in the far left lane of an interstate at highway speeds placed my life, and the lives of countless other motorists, in immediate danger. The outcome could easily have been catastrophic. To reiterate: the engine failed without any warning or indication, creating a life-threatening emergency situation. This is a critical safety defect that requires urgent investigation.

1. "Transmission or ECU" 2. There is a lag and sometimes almost stall when accelerating from a stop. I was turning into a lane from a stop sign and the car decided to not move for 3-4 seconds after pressing accelerator. If people had come around the blind corner when that happened I would have been T boned. 3. All four people living in my house...... and our mechanic. Yes 4.No, because were not paying for something that has had a recall. 5. We inherited this car from my grandmother and she knows nothing about cars so she never thought anything was wrong. Car has had shaking during acceleration and a noise (rattle/knock/tapping) from the engine for last 18 months. Dealer “could not find any issues” until July 31st 2025 when the engine broke down with a P1326 code (connecting rod bearing failure) and the engine seized. Vehicle is under class action class with extended 150k 15 year warranty on engine for this concern. Had recall performed for the knock sensor detection system as required by class action. Dealership first asked for most recent oil change record (provided) and than informed that Hyundai declined repairs due to full maintenance records not being submitted. Have now submitted full maintenance records to dealer and Hyundai directly since I purchased in 2023 as certified pre owned. All maintenance performed as per factory recommendations In manual. Hyundai still declining repairs without any explanation.

- #11681781August 20, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
My car stopped due to the emergency braking system when a car slowed down in front of me. There was no danger of me hitting them, we were in a turning lane proceeding slowly through a green light. My car stopped and wouldn't start moving again for more time than the person behind me would have expected. This isn't the first time, but it's my first time reporting it. I'm worried that I'm going to be hit by another car at some point.

- #11681825August 20, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
This is a very real safety concern. On multiple occasions, the automatic emergency braking (Forward Collision Avoidance Assist) feature of my 2025 Tucson Hybrid was activated in a completely unnecessary situation, endangering myself and drivers following behind me. If a car in front of me brakes suddenly, or a car merges quickly into my lane, which happens ALL the time as everyone has experienced, my car takes it upon itself to fully SLAM on the brakes without warning. Each time, it was in a situation where I could have easily slowed the car down incrementally so as to not put drivers behind me at risk of rear-ending my car. This feature can be temporarily disabled in settings, but it AUTOMATICALLY reactivates when the car is turned off then back on. This is a crash waiting to happen and it is unsafe to drive in its current state unless the feature is turned off manually every single time I start up my car. At the very least, there must be a PERMANENT way to turn of FCA.

My engine has an oil consumption problem that I've been dealing with Hyundai on. The vehicle is a 2019 Hyundai tucson. Last Friday [XXX] my car lost power on the freeway on a bridge and I began to slow down and couldn't pull over due to no shoulder. I had myself and my family in the car with me, (wife, [XXX] , [XXX] ) My car has failed two oil consumption tests and had a combustion chamber cleaning to try to resolve this issue. Now after losing power, the dealer has gone back on their word of engine replacement because Hyundai denied the claim. They are telling me the oil consumption lead to the catalytic converter getting plugged and losing power. The engine light for that has been on throughout all of the oil consumption testing (months) INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I own a 2018 Hyundai Tucson with 87,000 miles that consumes about four quarts of oil per 1,000 miles. I first noticed the problem at 51,000 miles, despite regular maintenance. The issue has worsened, repeatedly damaging spark plugs and causing the car to seize. Hyundai has denied my request for a replacement engine because I am the second owner. I bought the vehicle at 26,000 miles, believing it carried the 100,000-mile warranty. I was never informed that coverage drops to 60,000 miles for second owners. I have maintained the vehicle with oil changes every 3,000 miles, yet it remains unsafe to drive long distances. This defect presents a serious safety risk, and Hyundai has not provided a resolution.

My connecting rod came apart and went through the oil pan while I was on the highway. There were no engine or oil lights until the engine was already smoking and no longer accelerating luckily I was in the far right lane already and was able.to coast to safety. Hyundai is also refusing to honor my warranty. It requires a completely new engine. So this was a catastrophic engine failure with no warning.

While driving to work this morning, at approximately 04:25, on a mountain road both my low beams failed out of nowhere. I pullover in to a turn out as my high beams still worked. I go look and my passenger low beam comes back on. I make the decision to get back on the road and drive slower to try and get down the mountain. A moment later the passenger low beam turns off as do my high beams. I do not get any warning lamps for my high beams, just my low beams. I had to drive in pitch black with my hazards on trying to find a turn out or a safe place to pull over. I was not far too from home and drove back with my hazards on. I take my low beam bulb out of the housing and see that the coil blew. I purchase two new halogen bulbs when I went to go and replace them,I found that both low beam sockets had burned. It has not been reported to the dealer as my headlights are out of warrenty by a few years nor was it reported to the police or insurance because I thought maybe all the lights died at once. I have yet to replace my high beams and i'm the only owner of it.

Fuel injector failure. Car was losing power completely when pressing the gas pedal then would suddenly catch and go again. Then go very slowly with little power, almost got into an accident because of the loss of acceleration. They replaced the fuel injectors and it is now happening a second time with the check engine light coming on again. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE MADE! SEVERAL OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS ON HERE!!!!!!!

This vehicle was purchased by me in November of 2024. It was a one owner used car. At the time of purchase, the vehicle was inspected by the dealer and the oil was changed. It had only been driven 3000 miles when the check engine light began flashing. I took it in to a dealership and learned that it was burning oil at an excessive rate causing engine wear and damage. I have since learned that the engine will need to be replaced. I also learned that this is a very common and known problem with Hyundai engines.
