Driving home late Tuesday night October 13, 2026 the car made a severe noise, pulled to side of the road turned car off. The car would not start, the car was towed the next day to the Honda Dealership it was bought from. The car had just been in the Honda shop for routine maintenance. There was no warning lights. The safety concerns being on the side of a busy road. My wife and 2 children had to wake up and come and get me. This Pilot is our primary car the other one is not safe enough and is used for in town driving. According to the dealership it was towed to it was a P0304: cylinder 4 misfire misfire with a brand-new plug and a healthy timing belt, together with a loud engine noise, points to mechanical damage inside the engine. That fits a rod bearing failure.

The car stopped in the middle of the high traffic highway in IL while driving to the airport on [XXX].The car failed to restart on few restart try. Vehicle was put on emergency flashing light and turned off / turned on. it would not start. The break / clause was stiff. We turned off the vehicle completely for few min and then restarted. The vehicle started. it was the scariest thing ever happened. as we were 5 member in the car and the situation was very risky, prone to accident and death. I was driving and all of my dashboard lights lit up like a Christmas tree and i was unable to move the car safely without great difficulty in traffic during rush-hour with my children in the car the fuel pump went out was what i was told by Honda and there was a recall for this for several model years but not mine I only had 98,998 miles on the car and it should be covered by the recall like the other model years this is an on going issue for Denso fuel pumps my model year should be covered and i should be reimbursed

Driving on the highway the engine stopped no warning lights or noises. Private mechanic and Honda themselves have said it was due to a rod breaking off. Which was recalled for the same year make and model but did not include my VIN and I believe my VIN should have been included

SEATS
The passenger side seat is either missing or the foam material has been displaced. SInce this seat is both heated and cooled this presents a situation where the air ducts may be covered which if the heat is being seated could cause a buildup of heat and a possible melting or fire concern. The auto is still under the 36,000 mile threshold of warranty coverage but the dealer has refused to fix the issue. They gave me a number for Honda Customer Relations. Auto Start / Stop for the engine when coming to a stop at idle. We cannot replicate the situation over and over, but it has happened numerous times. If the auto start stop feature is allowed to function and the vehicle motor turns off at a stop sign or a stop light, it sometimes does not turn back on when you let off the brake and push the accelerator. This puts us in a very dangerous situation at intersections with a stalled out car. It sometimes takes several minutes to restart the car, all the while (my wife usually drives this car) she is panicking while cars honk and swerve around her disabled car. Honda dealer has been less than helpful stating they cannot do anything unless they can replicate it in the shop. Most recent incident happened today while my wife was driving to work.

The ''Low Oil Pressure'' light came on with limited driving function. It's been verified by an independent automotive repair that it has a rod knock that's similar to the rod bearing failures from the 2016 Honda Pilots that warranted a recall.

This complaint is being filed regarding a FAILED REMEDY for NHTSA Safety Recall 23V-431 (Honda Campaign ZEM) on my 2021 Honda Pilot Touring. Although the vehicle history shows that the recall repair for the MOST fiber-optic wire harness was previously performed, the authorized remedy has completely failed to fix the safety defect. The central infotainment dashboard screen regularly displays a "Network Connection Lost" error message before freezing or shutting down entirely. This failure causes an immediate, total, and unpredictable loss of the backup camera display while the vehicle is in operation. Because the backup camera is a federally mandated safety feature, its random failure creates an active safety risk for myself, my passengers, and pedestrians during reversing maneuvers. Honda customer service has refused to provide further diagnostic or repair assistance because the recall is already marked as "completed" in their database. However, the safety hazard remains active and unresolved. I request that the NHTSA investigate this failed remedy and compel Honda to provide an effective, lasting repair for this defective system.

The motor is misfiring on cylinder 5 due to faulty engine components. The vehicle is available for inspection on request. My safety and children’s are at risk as the cabin fills up with raw fuel fumes and makes you feel dizzy. It is also a huge safety risk that I have a failed motor and not one sensor or computer component came up to warn on the dashboard(aka engine light). The problem was brought to two different Honda dealers and the second one confirmed all this is true and faulty due to the manufacturers. No it hasn’t been inspected because we can’t get corporate to take us seriously or call us back in the right department. There were no warning lights on and it first appeared since the injectors were replaced.

My vehicle's auto idle engine stops when brake is engaged, goes into neutral when released instead of restarting causing me to have to turn on the flashers, shift into park, turn off the ignition then restart. I was almost rear ended at an intersection & held up traffic during another occurrence, causing impatience behind me. I then found numerous complaints on the same by Honda owners & extended 10-year warranty via service bulletins 23-008 & 23-009. I brought my vehicle into the dealership to be diagnosed on 9/29/26, & they said it needed the referenced valve adjustment & performed it. A few days later, on 10/4/26, it happened again in a grocery store parking lot as I stopped for a vehicle pulling out of space. I called the next morning & made the appt to have the starter diagnosed later in the week. Later that day, it happened again at a red light. I brought it back to the dealership on 10/9/26 & advisor called a few hours later to say said the starter was pulling too much power & causing the problem & needed replacement, but did not have it in stock, with no expected date, but would contact me as soon as they received it. About an hour later, he called back & said he was sorry to inform me that the starter was NOT covered under the 10-year ext. warranty for my VIN, just the valve adjustment (which did not resolve the issue) even though the tech said the starter pulling too much power was causing the problem. I was then provided a $1200 estimate- for a malfunction that is a widespread defect! As I questioned this, I was given the toll-free number to American Honda for an explanation. I spoke to them on 10/12/26 to question why the determination was made to exclude my vehicle’s VIN from the starter replacement. The representative confirmed that the starter & assembly were not covered for my VIN & stated he did not know how or why Honda arrived at that determination. I thought I was making a wise decision purchasing a Honda. Any advice as to how to proceed?

A recent drive on the expressway with my two young children turned into a nightmare when my vehicle's transmission failed without warning. Traveling at 65 mph, I was faced with a huge risk to our safety. Sadly, this was not the first time I've experienced problems with this vehicle. The steering wheel has locked up on me multiple times. I've lost count, but it's happened at the least 7 times – and I've been living with the constant fear of being involved in an accident. I've previously tried to address these issues through the lemon law, but unfortunately, I haven't seen any resolution yet.

I am about to replace my windshield for the 5th time in my 2025 Honda Pilot Black edition. It has happened in different spots at different speeds and the windshield immediately spreads. I have replaced with OEM glass everytime. This is a safety concern. I joined a FaceBook group for 2025 Honda Pilots and so many others have this sane issue. Its very concerning

This has happened to me 5 times in the last month or so. It is a safety situation and is scary when it happens. The Idle Stop feature is malfunctioning and could cause me to be rear ended. When I am waiting to turn right at a red light, or waiting for someone to turn at a yellow blinking light, the Idle Feature isn't working properly. Sometimes the entire car actually turns off, the car goes into Neutral, and the dash board shows a crash detection or battery image. This is a safety hazard because in a right turn lane, when I am waiting for the cars before me to go, and then they do go, the people behind me are expecting me to go. Instead, I have to put on my flashers, put my car in park, AND THEN restart my car, then put it in Drive. It is not the usual Idle Stop happening; this is different; the car is actually shutting off and going into neutral and has to be put in park and then completely turned on. It goes into an accessory mode feel. I have a 2022 Honda Pilot Touring.

On [XXX] at approximately [XXX] with my car being at 136,390 miles I was at a stoplight and my engine idle engaged, but when I took my foot off the break, it would not reengage. It shifted to neutral. It took me several tries to get my car to start back up. This is the second time this has happened to me since owning this vehicle. I purchased it brand new and 2017 from the Honda dealership in Richland Washington. After the first time it happened, there was a bulletin that went out for a software update. I took this in and had it done. Obviously that did nothing. This is not only very frustrating but very dangerous. The car engine shut off while in auto idle stop, prompting me to take to the dealership last year,2025. There, I was informed that the wiring is made from soy, which attracts rats, leading to a repair bill exceeding $1000. Unfortunately, this issue has recurred, as the engine has stalled twice when the vehicle shifted to park during a stop, necessitating a restart.

The electrical for the infotainment system cuts out and the rear camera is no longer on the screen, it will cause loud popping while driving as the MOST Net system is failing. There is also poor gas mileage and reads the gas tank contents incorrectly while displaying incorrect MPG typical with the fuel pump recall for this generation of Honda Pilot, but both of these recalls removed my specific year shortly after they were announced.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda Pilot. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V365000 (Structure, Suspension); however, the front subframe had a hole caused by corrosion. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5-10 MPH, the front end of the vehicle made clunking sounds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for suspension wear and tear repair, and it was determined that there was a hole in the front suspension. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone and stated that the recall repair was only for the rear subframe. The failure mileage was approximately 101,600.

Airbag Failure Report – 2021 Honda Pilot (Incident Date: April 10, 2026) I am reporting a critical failure of the supplemental restraint system (SRS) in my 2021 Honda Pilot. On April 10, 2026, while traveling at approximately 40–45 mph, our vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by a white commercial van. The severe impact caused over $9,000 in structural damage—including the driver-side door, fender, wheel, mirror, and radiator support brackets—yet the side/curtain airbags failed to deploy. As a result of this failure to protect occupants during a significant collision, the driver sustained permanent, non-repairable neck trauma (aggravating a prior surgical site), and the passenger sustained newly diagnosed bulging cervical discs. I request that this failure be documented and investigated as a potential safety defect.
