The vehicle battery will die and then 10+ error codes come up. After battery is recharged the codes disappear. No difficulty with turnover after that. The vehicle has also turned off after coming to a complete stop even when the idle option is unselected.

Taken to 3 dealers over the course of 18 months and finally the 3rd Honda dealership acknowledged this. The problem has been identified and repeated by dealership mechanics. No warning lights at all.

Catastrophic internal engine mechanical failure. My 2016 Honda Pilot (3.5L V6 engine) has developed a severe connecting rod bearing knock that is highly audible during cold starts and heavily intensifies upon pressing the gas pedal to accelerate. This issue is an exact match to the mechanical defect and symptoms detailed in NHTSA Recall Campaign Number 23V751000 (Improperly ground crankshaft pins causing premature connecting rod bearing wear and engine seizure). However, when running my vehicle's 17-digit VIN, the system states that my vehicle is excluded from the recall list. This is a severe, life-threatening safety hazard. The engine is at immediate risk of throwing a rod, throwing metal debris into the oiling system, or completely seizing without warning, which would cause an abrupt loss of motive power at highway speeds or a catastrophic engine fire. Because thousands of owners outside the original production window are experiencing this identical failure, I am filing this complaint to urge the NHTSA to mandate that Honda expand Recall 23V751000 to include all affected 3.5L V6 engine blocks.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:STARTER ASSEMBLY
The contact owns a 2021 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under Technical Service Bulletin: 23-008 (Product Update: PGM-FI Idle Stop Software Update); however, the failure occurred after the product update. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated to start after pressing the Engine Start button. The engine failed restart after coming to a complete stop and releasing the brake pedal and the Auto Idle Stop feature engaged. The battery warning light was illuminated, and the messages "Battery Failure" and "Press Brakes - Put the Car in Park and Restart" were displayed. The contact deactivated the Auto Idle Stop feature. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the starter needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was 122,993.

The car has auto idle. It is the default and operates anytime the car is started unless you specifically push a button (each time) to turn if off. Starting about a year ago, the car battery seemed sluggish and then when I was driving if I stopped at a stoplight, the car would completely die and I had to restart it. Thinking it was a battery issue, I had a new battery put in on 10/15/25. But the issues have continued. Just recently, the car has twice died when I am at busy stoplights which could have easily led to me being rear ended. I have to put the car in park and attempt to restart it. It sometimes reads that the battery is dead, but then will start after a couple tries. I am taking it to my Honda dealer today, but they have already said "it's probably the battery - which is less than a year old and has a four year warranty.

My 2016 honda pilot has 97,500 miles. The engine stop working and I have it replaced a used 3.5 engine. The transmission has transmission overheating problem and I took a picture on the dash board. I show it to the service advisor and they won't acknowledge about the overheating problem. Honda care customer service won't do anything regarding the engine and transmission problem.

Vehicle: 2021 Honda Pilot NHTSA Recall: 26V-365 Honda Recall: AOU Recall Status: Incomplete/Unrepaire I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious motor vehicle accident involving my 2021 Honda Pilot. At the time of the accident, my vehicle had an open and unrepaired safety recall, NHTSA Recall 26V-365, Honda Recall AOU. I was driving my Honda Pilot downhill when the vehicle began gaining speed in a manner that felt abnormal and uncontrollable. I attempted to slow and stop the vehicle by applying the brakes, but I was unable to stop the vehicle. Despite my efforts to brake, the vehicle continued moving forward and I ultimately collided with another vehicle, resulting in a multi-vehicle accident involving approximately three to four vehicles. The collision was severe. The front of my Honda Pilot sustained extensive damage and the airbags deployed. The vehicle has not been repaired since the accident and remains in its post-collision condition. After the accident, I checked my VIN through the NHTSA recall system and discovered that my vehicle has an incomplete safety recall, NHTSA Recall 26V-365. The recall concerns corrosion at the rear subframe suspension mounting points, which may result in failure of rear suspension components and adversely affect vehicle handling and control. I am concerned that a mechanical or vehicle safety defect may have contributed to my inability to slow or stop the vehicle. I am not stating that the recall definitively caused the accident because the vehicle has not yet undergone an appropriate mechanical or engineering inspection. However, because my specific VIN has this unrepaired recall and I experienced an apparent loss of braking/control immediately before a serious multi-vehicle collision, I am requesting that NHTSA review this incident as a potential vehicle safety defect. ENGINE, POWER TRAIN, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
After Automatic Braking engaged, within a couple days car will make a zipper noise and gas pedal will not work. Have to press it 5-6 times and then it will start working again. Very dangerous when you have cars traveling behind you and you basically start slowing down immediately. But today, not sure if related, backed out of driveway on a slope, car went immediately to park with a large sound like the bottom falling out of the car and shook the car. Several warnings kept flashing (emissions, transmission, and P for park was flashing). I powered car off and back on was able put in N to let it coast backward to get out of the road. Completely shut everything off waited a couple minutes and was able to drive it back to my driveway and there was fluid leaking from underneath halfway between the front to tires. Calling dealership tomorrow

Honda DTC U3000-49 Internal Electronic Failure of the Multipurpose Camera. Ran into an issue where most if not all system modules began flashing warnings in the instrument cluster. The last time this happened, we found our original factory Honda battery to have finally failed. We replaced the battery 6 months ago, thus it's basically new. Naturally we thought possibly that something happened to the battery again, so we brought it back to Goodyear, and they ran tests. Alternator charging system was good, and so was the battery. They reset the system, and all of the warning lights went away for about 5 minutes. After idling for about 5 minutes, all of the random warning lights came back on the instrument cluster. Since the system was reset, the only thing that was flagged after pulling the codes post-reset was U3000-49, which after some research appears to be somewhat common. I talked to my local Honda dealer and they said the cost to fix this is in the mid to high $2000 range. I had to pay Goodyear $67.98 due to the fault not being with their installed battery, and they let the car go saying they couldn't do anything, so I contacted Honda.

While driving with my family in my 2021 Pilot on the interstate at 75mph, I felt a shudder while in traffic. Fortunately, I signaled to get over and cars around me responded, because the check engine light flashed on and off and the car shut off. We had enough time to roll to the side of the interstate safely because drivers around me were aware and considerate. The car would not restart so we had to tow it. The Pilot has been evaluated by an independent mechanic who says that a failure in the high pressure fuel pump caused oil to dilute gasoline. A full engine replacement is required. There was no prior warning of this issue. American Honda has been contacted for potential support. Early stage of that, but dealing with them has, so far, been great.

While driving with ACC active, I engaged LKAS. After approximately 30-40 seconds, ACC and LKAS disengaged and all sensor warning lights illuminated and sensors as well as ACC and LKAS would no longer work. Warning lights and error messages on instrument cluster continue to show since this happened. Vehicle starts and runs normally otherwise. Battery tested and is healthy. OBD II shows no codes. New windshield was installed in July 2026 by Safelite.

The component that has failed or malfunctioned is the A/C Compressor Shaft Seal. It is available for inspection upon request. During a heat wave in Southern California, the ambient temperature failed to lower inside the vehicle's cabin. Causing potential heat stress-related injuries if prolonged. It has been documented under Technical Service Bulletin 23-050 for Honda vehicles. The component was inspected by a Honda Service Center. No warning lamps or messages appeared. Symptoms of the problem only came to light during a heat wave advisory in Southern California.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
I own a 2020 Honda Pilot with approximately 85,000 miles. While driving, the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) warning lights intermittently come on, causing these Honda Sensing safety functions to become unavailable. The warnings sometimes disappear and the systems operate normally again, but the problem continues to return. The vehicle was diagnosed with DTC U3000-49, Multipurpose Camera Unit Internal Electronic Failure. I took the vehicle to a repair facility and was advised that the multipurpose camera needs to be replaced, with an estimated repair cost of approximately $2,200. The repair facility also told me that they have recently seen other Honda vehicles with the same or very similar issue. They had a Honda Odyssey with a similar Honda Sensing/camera problem just before my Pilot. I am reporting this because the failure occurs while driving and disables ACC and CMBS. I am concerned that similar multipurpose camera failures may be occurring in other Honda Pilot and Odyssey vehicles.

Unknown. I took it to a local shop and they did read the codes but were unable to find camera or fix anything. I have 5 warnings that all came on one after one. Can not be cleared. We reset battery and a few simple fixes that didn’t work. Following warnings: Auto high beam problem, lane keeping assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, and collision mitigation system problem. I was driving on a smooth road with no issues and nothing happened, they just started going off one at a time. We have an appointment with Honda dealer on Tuesday September 29th 2026 to drop off to get checked out. I took it to my local shop on 9/24/26 with in an hour of it happening. Picked my car up from That shop on 9/25/26 they checked it out and said it was safe to drive but not something they could fix for me. I called Honda 9/25/26 that morning after picking up my car and they gave me the appointment.
