This 10 speed transmission is dangerous. It hesitates and jerks constantly. Both up and down shifts will hesitate or drop into gears. While at speeds under 50mph the car will lurch and rock back and forth with some shifts. I'm current on all recalls. Only 23,000 miles. I've taken it in to Honda and did a ride along with the tech and he felt it too, but until there is a check engine light, theres nothing they can do to help me. This is a wide spread issue among owners when you search forums. Please look into this issue and push Honda to release a software update.

Vehicle stopped with no warning while waiting in traffic at a red light and it took a while to restart. Same thing happened while parked in a lot waiting. The former issue was dangerous as I was in traffic with numerous vehicles moving around me with my family in the car as I got out to check the problem under the hood. The latter issue happened while out of town which is scary and dangerous considering it was a remote area.

The contact's daughter owns a 2022 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made an abnormal rattling sound. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the rear sway bar bracket had fractured. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the rear sway bar bracket needed to be replaced. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

- #11649838March 21, 2025STEERING, SUSPENSION
Loud popping noise when steering started at about 2000 miles. The entire steering rack was replaced. At 7000 miles the noise is back along with a clicking in the steering wheel. Took it to the dealership again and they adjusted the clock spring, but it is still there. I am worried because I am afraid my steering will fail. The dealer did reproduce the problem both times. No independent inspection. No warning lamps.

- #11649425March 20, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I was travelling northbound in the right lane, of two lanes, on Hwy 55 in St. Louis Tuesday around 0715 when my Honda Pilot suddenly braked very hard; the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) had gone off without reason. I was in a construction zone and I was probably traveling about 50 miles per hour. There were no barriers immediately in front of me, as in a hard curve left or right and definitely no vehicle in front of me and thankfully no vehicle behind me, considering the normal bumper-to-bumper morning traffic. I did not come to a complete stop, well I don't think I did, but slowed greatly enough that all vehicles on my left driving past me fairly fast. I was in shock and confused unable to figure out happened. After a brief assessment of my surrounding I accelerated and continued on my way to work. If someone has been following me I have no doubt they would have collided with me, worse it could have been a tractor trailer! I got to work and was mentally shot for the rest of the day. The dealer was friendly, somewhat empathetic and I scheduled a maintenance check up. I have owned the car less than one month of this this report. I am already looking for a new vehicle and will NEVER own a Honda again. Driving this vehicle with that CMBS that can go off randomly, a/k/a "phantom brake" is nerve raking. I do my best to remember disable the system before driving. Sadly, a system I would ordinarily enjoy having. Also, I now fear following other Honda drivers because if their CMBS fail I might crash into them! The idea Honda has not repaired this or a recalled their vehicles is mind bending; this could cause fatalities! Frankly, their complacency is nothing short of apathy for human life. I am going to lose thousands of dollars getting out of this vehicle, which I find unacceptable and cruel. I am happy to testify to this account and am telling you this is nothing short of my sworn statement.

- #11649294March 19, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Vehicle collision system for warning distance was placed to low setting. Driving about 30mph with no cars in front but a large dually on my left lane and a truck on my right lane, similar speed or slightly less, all of us 3 approaching an under construction intersection. Neither car came in my lane yet my system warned me to break and then activated the brakes forcefully. Rear passenger witnessed also and agreed they saw no cause to trigger sudden breaking. No car behind me or else we would have been rear ended. Tried turning system completely off but it resets every time at car startup.

- #11649245March 19, 2025FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Every time I fill my car up with gas and I set the nozzle to shut off automatically when it is full of gas, gas spits out all over my car and on the pavement. I called the dealership and they said this is normal. I do not feel that it should be. Also, whenever I drive my car it acts as if it has no power and it almost feels like it’s missing or not getting enough gas or something.

- #11648965March 18, 2025FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The contact owns a 2025 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power in the middle of the road. The contact stated that after opening and closing the door, the vehicle was able to restart. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the fuel injection electronic control unit (FI-ECU) required a software update. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V031000 (Fuel System, Gasoline, Electrical System); the VIN was included, but the vehicle was already repaired under the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 16,000.

- #11648811March 17, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The vehicle will provide "BRAKE" warnings on the dash display or display the warning and auto-brake when on a 2 lane road, with only a painted divided line, when on a curve and an oncoming vehicle is coming wards my vehicle, but there is no apparent oncoming collision with the oncoming vehicle and with no vehicle in front of me. This has been intermittent and ongoing since vehicle purchase.

- #11648807March 17, 2025EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Headlights were replaced under the 3yr/36k mile warranty just prior to the 3 yr mark due to the clear coat peeling and headlights showing excessive wear and scratching. 6 months after replacement, the replaced headlights are showing the same signs of clear coat peeling and excessive wear and scratching, far sooner than the original 3 yr mark. The headlight condition continues to deteriorate and will eventually need replacement or refurbishment. Now, the Honda emblem on the front, which is covered in clear plastic since it houses anti-collision components, is showing the same signs of wear. This seems premature considering the vehicle was purchased in 2021 and will pose a safety risk soon.

Rattling noise when using heater. Seems to happen when the car is cold and fan speed doesn't seem to change it much. Once the car is warmed up it mostly disappears.

- #11648231March 13, 2025SUSPENSION, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
1) 2024 Honda Pilot is a 7 passenger vehicle w/2WD towing rating of 3500 pounds. With 4 people in the rows 1&2, and 4-20 lb. suitcases in the cargo area behind the 2nd row, the rear suspension has extreme negative camber on the suspension and it looks like it's weighted down with a ton of rocks in the back. This causes excessive tire wear on the inside of the rear tires.I brought this into the dealership to address, and they said that it's normal. They declined to check the alignment specs, and said that they just put a couple guys in the 2nd row and all looked normal.Must be inaccurate specs, or it has inadequate rear suspension and/or rear shocks. Why would a vehicle with 60% of the passenger/weight capacity, and with not even set up with a towing hitch, have this kind of problem? This should be investigated as we've never had this problem with our previous Honda's, or any other vehicle. 2) Since new, we have problems with the acceleration of the vehicle, primarily from a standing start. When we try to gently press on the gas peddle it surges forward like a person in a sports car trying to spin the tires. This has nothing to do with the pavement as it's dry concrete, and it is very hard to get the vehicle to move forward without spinning the front tires.Dealership says that it's normal as it just has to do with the gearing of the new 10 speed transmission and it's sensitive (huge understatement). This rapid acceleration is dangerous and can cause you to loose control, and even worse if we're driving on wet roads.I've never experienced a gas peddle/acceleration problem like this on any vehicle I've owned in 40 years, even sports cars.Drive one of these Pilot's and you'll see yourself! 3) Honda's Vehicle Data Privacy Notice is extremely unethical and should be illegal.Honda is collecting and selling it's clients personal info to third parties. They're trapping clients and compromising personal data and identity for even more money. This leads to identity theft.

I was coming out of a parking lot so I was braking. My car suddenly surged even though my foot was on the brake. I pushed the brake harder and harder my car moved about 20 ft. toward a curb before it stopped. We are contacting the dealer to have it checked. No reports where filed. There was no warning before it happened. It speed up like it was accelerating to go on the expressway.

- #11647933March 12, 2025EXTERIOR LIGHTING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
While driving the pilot warning alerts popped up that none of the collision detection, lane assist, cruise control, and seemingly all radar related systems were working. Additionally, the headlights turned off. We have brought this to the Honda dealer on now three occasions, and there doesn’t seem to be any understanding of why this is happening. On the evening of March 11 this issue happened again after the dealership having the car for a week to “fix “this problem and the lights turned off on an unlit road almost causing an accident. The car is again back at the dealer, who apparently is working with Honda again. I have seen this type of problem reported for other 2023 Honda vehicles, including the pilot, passport, and CRV on various Internet forums.
