ENGINE
The auto idle stop feature on the vehicle poses a significant safety hazard. On multiple occasions, the engine doesn’t re start after lifting your foot off of the brake. We’ve had the dealer assess several times, but they simply say they can’t repeat the problem. In the most recent instance, we were stopped at a red light and the auto idle stop engaged. When the light turned green, I took my foot off of the brake and the car did t re start. I had to shift from drive to park, and tried to re start the car a few times before the engine re started. I was fortunate I wasn’t rear ended, as cars were coming up behind me in excess of 40 miles per hour. Thankfully, they saw my hazard lights and moved over before hitting me. This problem has been reported in multiple forums, to include here: https://www.piloteers.org/threads/auto-engine-idle-stop-system-problem-message.144153/ Unfortunately, and by design, the feature cannot be permanently disengaged. Please force Honda to take immediate action before it results in fatalities!

When I turn on the car, an error pops up saying KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM. I already changed the battery in the key fob and that didn’t solve anything. I’ve restarted the car several times and the error continues to pop up.

TIRES
I have 2 years old Honda Pilot 2020 Touring original tires 245/50 R20 with 16900 miles on them and the front tires already start delaminating and chunk off (please see attached pictures). As you can see 2-year-old rubber looks like it's much older. Possibly the rubber compound is not what it should be. Did not found this DOT # in recall yet only the close ones, looks like the recall should be wider.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The front end collision camera will register on coming traffic and warn me to brake. On one occasion the vehicle actually braked for me. Luckily I was only driving 25 MPH and there were no vehicles behind me. We took the vehicle to the dealer to have them look into the issue but they informed me that Honda did not currently have a fix for the issue and that I would have to turn the camera off every time I started the vehicle to prevent it from potentially braking for me and bringing me to a complete stop while driving. Our main concern is that the camera picks up an on coming vehicle and stops us while driving on the highway causing us to veer off the road or get rear ended potentially injuring us or other drivers. We have tried several times over the course of several months to contact Honda directly about the issue but they will not return our calls.

EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT
The center led screen and all components cut out and reboot many times while driving. This includes backup camera, hands free phone communication and navigation. Radio is also non functioning during this time. Honda has referred this fix as fakra components. Items have been replaced or worked on 4 times as of September 7th 2021 and the system failed again already today Sept 8th 2021. The first incident occured 1 week after purchase and this is the fifth time it will need repair in less than 1 year, although dealer service has told me there is nothing else they can do until Honda comes up the a fix. Apparently this occurring on several years of high end pilots. I contacted Honda today and started the process for a case number.

VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES:EXTERIOR
The contact owns a 2021 Honda Pilot. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the driver’s side exterior rearview mirror was shaking forcefully, and the contact was unable to see the road or other vehicles. The contact was able to drive to his destination. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The contact took the vehicle to a second dealer; Honda of Kenosha (12180 77th St, Bristol, WI 53104, (262) 891-6300) where it was diagnosed with needing the driver’s side exterior rearview mirror to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but the repair was pending. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20.

The dealer was made aware of the failure and scheduled an upcoming appointment for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000. The VIN was unavailable.

AIR BAGS
I recently bought this car used and the car and the airbag icon was on and the dealer from where I bought the car. He said that it was a honda air bag recall passenger side and I went to Honda to go and get it replaced and once they fixed it the airbag icon was still on. The car has never been in an accident and the driver side is the issue. I went to the dealership where I bought the car and they gave me a code that they read from the diagnostic test and it read 31-11. The car has never been in a car accident and the driver side is the issue. They said that when Honda made the car they didn't do it right so they should fix it. I need help!

BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS, UNKNOWN OR OTHER, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Loud popping and crackling noise emitting from speakers. Cannot turn them off, and causes major interruptions in navigation, radio, entertainment. Dealer said Falkra wiring is faulty, but is back-ordered, and could not even give us an estimate of when it would arrive. Essentially told us to suck it up, but it is more than distracting (my daughter actually said it gives her a headache) and I'm worried about larger (safety) issues if the wiring is indeed faulty. What if my other electrical systems malfunction as well?

ENGINE
The auto engine idle feature malfunctions, car stalls out at times when taking off from a stopped position, also this stalling will occur while driving at highway speeds causing the car to de-accelerate and having to pull over and restart car. We have had several close accidents because of this , nearly hit by other cars at intersections. We have had car in shop 3 times and they cannot find problem. The ECM was changed out last year due to entire dashboard warning system failure but this didn’t fix the idle start stop problems. Honda dealers stating nothing can be done unless we pay to start changing out various systems until problem found. Will cost thousands. Problem start at around 30 k miles, and now has 60k miles and no longer under warranty.

The driver side mirror is loose. This is due to a defective batch of mirrors sold in a large number 2021 Honda Odysseys and 2021 Honda Pilots. Honda is aware of this issue. Other drivers are aware of this issue and the dealer has acknowledged this to me. At highway speeds, the driver side mirror vibrates and becomes unusable or distracting (i.e. unable to focus on objects while changing lanes, etc.) resulting in an unsafe driving experience. Bringing the car back to dealer results in them taking the mirror off, putting on more glue, and reattaching. This works for 1-2 months until the glue becomes loose again. According to the dealer, Honda has not come up with a permanent fix but does is not willing to install an entirely new mirror assembly. I believe this mirror issue justifies a recall for all defective vehicles and a permanent fix which may include an entire new mirror assembly if a permanent glue on the mirror actuator cannot be used.

I have been experiencing issues with the auto engine idle stop feature. The electrical system (radio & blue tooth) cut off and on when the auto engine idle stop tries to start again. There have even been several instances of the car cutting off completely and having to be restarted. This is very unsafe. One of the instances of the car cutting off occurred in traffic as we stopped and then started moving again. There were several people in the car at the time. The dealer has not been able to recreate the issue.

Paint Peeling around windows and top surfaces of 2011 Honda Pilot - White Pearl Paint Paint chips coming off around windows and landing in car when eating. Child almost ate paint chips. Took Car to Pueblo Honda several years ago and told that there was nothing they could do as car was to old. Out of warranty. They did not check or notify me that the warranty was extended for 7 years. I just found this on Google. Car had hail damage 2018 and insurance and auto body shop said paint defective. Filed online at Honda about this no one contacted me. This first appeared and started to peel about 5 years ago in 2016. Is only getting worse. 102,429 8.6.2018 mialage

Driving down the road and the sunroof glass spontaneously shattered. Loud band and it just imploded raining glass pieces into the car. Local Honda dealer said they had seen several of these including one the day before. However, Honda would not cover it even though the car is only five months old and purchased brand new, top trim level.

ENGINE
While at a stop light my idol stop function turned the car off. When the light turned green I lightly took my foot off the brake and the car tried to turn back on (the power clicked) but instead it shut off the car fully. Only the car radio was still working as if it was in accessory mode. Car display said to turn the car on I needed to press the brake and press the ignition button. My foot was still on the brake. I pressed the ignition button but nothing happened. Pressed it again and nothing happened. Lifted my foot off and on the brake and tried again. Nothing. Display still read press brake and ignition. Lifted my foot off the brake and on again and then pressed the ignition, it FINALLY restarted the car. Extremely dangerous situation as this took nearly a minute for the car to restart, the light had just cycled again. Dealership could not replicate the situation. They updated the cars software and it did not fix the problem. They said the battery was still good but I had read on the piloteers.org website that changing the battery seemed to solve the problem. I had them change the battery anyway and it fixed the issue, now nearly 2 years later the problem is reoccurring again.
