When driving on gravel the gravel will get stuck in the rear and front brake guards. This is making the rotors get scratched and damaged, also causes a very high screeching sound. This happens every time while driving on gravel or going over gravel. I am concerned about the brakes becoming unsafe and the braking system becoming damaged. This problem has not been inspected and no warning lights come on during the problem.

My 2017 Honda Pilot has a jerking issue when accelerating slowly or fast. It lags to accelerate. You can see the RPM gauge bounce when this happens. The "bucking" or "jerking" can be felt by the driver and sometimes the passenger but its not super noticeable. My vehicle has less than 60,000 miles on it currently. I have not changed the transmission fluid but this issue has only just started recently. My transmission fluid currently does not look brown or smell burnt. It looks the normal red color. There is no warning lights have appeared on the dashboard.

- #11570627February 7, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, UNKNOWN OR OTHER, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
The vehicle was purchased brand new on Feb 1st 2024. While driving on the highway on Feb 5th 2024, with only 105 miles on the odometer, and no prior warning messages/lights, many warning messages were suddenly displayed on the dashboard, repeating one after the other, instructing that various safety features were disabled, displaying: "Parking brake not available", "Brake system problem", "Brake performance may be reduced", "Brake hold system problem", "Anti-lock brake system problem", "Vehicle stability assist system problem", "Reduced traction and handling", "Electric power steering system problem. Steering assist reduced", "Hill start assist problem. Vehicle may roll upon brake release", "Trailer stability assist system problem", "Hill descent control system problem", "Adaptive cruise control system problem", "Lane keeping assist system problem", "Collision mitigation braking system problem", "Road departure mitigation system problem", "Low speed braking system control problem", "Auto high beam problem", "Parking sensor problem". In addition, after coming to a full stop and shifting to Park, (or, turning off the car) the tailgate would not open regardless of how we tried (dash button, remote key, tailgate handle, foot swing). Also, the car would not turn off after pressing the On/Off button. The button would need to be pressed repeatedly to turn off the vehicle. All of these safety systems and functions were disabled at the same time without prior warning while driving at highway speeds. The Honda dealer confirmed the problem, inspected the vehicle, and concluded a faulty ABS control module is to blame. We know of one other 2024 Honda Pilot owner in our neighborhood who experienced the same issue, which makes it likely that this is a common problem. Honda should have designed redundancies to prevent sudden simultaneous failure of so many safety systems. Honda should recall all affected vehicles to replace faulty ABS control modules before people are hurt.

Honda announced this recall in December it keeps showing up on my HondaLink app. Yet here we are in February nearly 2 months after the recall & they still do not have a fix. How many people are driving their recalled vehicles? Sorry but all Honda is doing is trying to limit their liability by telling owners there is a problem & not offering a solution. They need to be forced to get these vehicles fixed.

- #11570423February 6, 2024TIRES
I am writing to formally address a concerning issue I have encountered with my vehicle’s front tires. Since the initial tire swap, I have observed significant degradation in the condition of the Continental Cross Contact LX Sport 245/50 R 102H tires. Specifically, I have noticed gradual chunking of the tire tread, occurring piece by piece. Upon bringing this matter to the attention of , I was informed that this issue falls within the purview of the manufacturer’s warranty. However, upon further communication with the manufacturer, I was informed that the observed deterioration is attributed to road conditions in my locality rather than a manufacturing defect. I am deeply concerned as my SUV has only accumulated 29,000 miles, yet the tires exhibit a severe lack of tread thickness, rendering them nearly unusable. Given the discrepancy in responses between the dealer and the manufacturer, I seek clarification and resolution to this matter at the earliest convenience. I kindly request a thorough investigation into the root cause of the tire deterioration and a comprehensive assessment of its eligibility for warranty coverage. Additionally, I urge for prompt action to rectify this issue to ensure the safety and performance of my vehicle. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to a swift resolution.

I was driving my vehicle on the highway at approximately 70 kph when the engine seized and all of the warning lights in the dash went out simultaneously. The car would barely accelerate but I was able to pull over and get it towed to a shop. The shop diagnosed total engine failure as a result of tension rod shavings showing in the oil filter. I researched recalls for my model & year and found November 13, 2023 NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 23V751000. Although my specific VIN is not yet included, both the model/ year and symptoms of the issue match exactly with what happened to me. I urge you to include my VIN in this recall.

I am told by Right Honda dealership in Scottsdale, AZ that the "front lower control arms" are tearing open after 3.5 years and approx. 48k miles. This is a premature failure that appears to have affected many other Honda owners. I am told that my steering can lose control as a result of this defect. The dealership charges over $1000 for this repair and it is just outside of warranty. Please investigate this dangerous defect.

happening more if we left it on, as default, all the time. We have reported it to our dealer, they "cannot replicate" it and claim "that's unusual" despite knowing there is a massive recall for this exact issue. They claim it needs a tune up, and we fear that your 1% of cars effected estimate is off and not including many more cars being effected by this. This Auto Idle option needs an override that could save lives. Please re-open the investigation, press Honda for information they may not be sharing from their dealerships regarding the extent of this (they're probably not documenting each time someone complains about this, since they can't "replicate it.") I was driving my 2017 Honda Pilot Exl back from work at 35-40 mph when I heard a loud thud noise. Initially I thought I had gotten a flat or something, but then I heard air escaping as if a window was open but it was coming from over my head. As I continued to drive I heard pieces of glass sliding across the roof of the car. When a got home a few minutes (< 10 minutes) later, I tried opening the sunroof tray and noticed I couldn’t and I could see that the glass looked to have shattered. I got out of the car and examined the roof of the car and the sunroof was indeed shattered.

- #11569642February 3, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
This morning 01/30/2024, I was travelling in the right lane of two on the highway. The vehicle slowed rapidly just about to a stop. I barely had time to pull to the right shoulder. I narrowly was struck from a vehicle travelling behind. This was from one of the safety mechanisms in the Pilot SUV I think the lane departure sensor. This was very scary. I feel this is a huge safety concern and need to report it. If I didn't have a shoulder what the heck would have happened to me. I probably would have been struck from behind and who knows possibly injured or worse. The shoulder was approximately 8 ft wide thankfully. Later that morning it did the same thing but this time many error messages appeared. Thankfully this time there was nobody behind me and was able to pull to the right shoulder again. The error messages are as follows 1) Adaptive Cruise Control Problem 2) Brake System Problem 3) Power Steering System Problem 4) Vehicle Stability Assist Problem 5) Hill Start Assist Problem 6) Trail Stability Assist Problem 7) Collision Mitigation System Problem 8) Road Departure Mitigation System Problem. The engine lost power and would not shift properly. About 15 minutes later the vehicle drove normal. The error messages were still there. I parked my car upon arrival to work. I saw that the rear brake lights stayed illuminated as if the brakes were depressed but they were not. I had no tools to disconnect the battery and the rear lights stayed on for the next several hours. I returned to the vehicle and thankfully it started. The vehicle error lights were still there on the dash. I put the vehicle in gear and started my way home. Again, the engine lost power and would not shift properly. About 15 minutes later the vehicle drove normal. The error messages were still there. I parked my car at my house and the rear lights were still illuminated. I had to disconnect the battery so the battery would not be drained and/or ruined. I feel like this is a severe safety issue.

Passenger side floor soaked. Dealer said it was a grommet that was missing on ac line and was fixed. However the issue is still happening. Had to replace carpet and most likely will have to again. And the problem is still not fixed.

Auto engine idle continues to be problematic. Leaving me stranded in intersections and unable to restart my vehicle for minutes. Today when it happened it turned off my collision detection feature. I have taken to dealership several times, once they replaced fuel injectors due to related recall but since they show no issues.

When going a consistent speed, the engine RPM flutters up and down which jerks the car back-and-forth while going around 40 mph. Independent mechanic said there’s something wrong with the VTEC system and one of the cylinders is not getting enough air

For several months there was a crackling sound coming from the dashboard/ speakers. I mentioned this problem to my service advisor on at least 2 different appointments and even showed him a recording of the problem. It was never fixed. Finally, My entertainment center stopped working altogether. It would not even turn on. I once again reminded my service advisor about the crackling/ popping sounds and wondered if these problems were related. They stated a cable was loose, reconnected and my entertainment center began to work again. Unfortunately, the crackling and popping sound continued. When using the audio system, the speakers would abruptly make crackling and popping noises, similar to static noises, which caused the audio to interrupt and cut out. Even when I turned the audio off, the speakers continued to make the crackling and popping sounds. This was extremely nerve recking, and caused safety concerns because I was not sure what was going on and where sounds were coming from when I first begin having this issue with the car. It happened randomly. The audio would also stop and dvd would stop working where image no longer appeared on the back screen. I took it to the dealership again today and received a quote for about $1,600.00 to have it repaired. I have found multiple complains online for this same problem. Honda was well aware of the problem and should extend warranty and cover my repair cost fully. The contact owns a 2023 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that the side door mirrors automatically tilt downward when shifted to reverse(R); however, the mirrors intermittently failed to return to their original position when shifted out of reverse(R). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined there was a software malfunction, but a remedy was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 500.
