The windshield that is installed on my vehicle distorts the view as you look through the windshield. It warps what you see looking through the windshield. I can best describe it as looking through a funhouse mirror or looking through some strange prescription glasses. It is very distracting and has caused me to nearly get in an accident. It gives me a headache with only moments of use. I don't feel safe driving the car. It is very hard to see and judge distance in front of the vehicle. I notified the dealer, and they said Honda knows about the issue. I have been waiting on the replacement windshield for 3+ weeks as the dealer said the windshields are backordered. I am stuck paying for a car that I can't drive safely.

I drive have a 2016 Honda Pilot. On a trip from Overland Park, KS to Denver, CO, I exited the interstate and noticed a ticking sound. Turned the radio down, shifted into neutral and accelerated the engine a little. The sound I was hearing accelerated with the engine. Before getting to my destination, the engine light illuminated and an emission warning. I inspected the engine at my destination and the noise is coming from the front of the engine. I took it to an independent repair shop in the morning. They gave me an estimate to remove & replace engine assembly complete - used $8,733.60 or remove & replace short block - New OEM $13,282.63 I did not feel comfortable pursuing repairs in Denver. With the vehicle being unreliable to drive home, I rented a moving truck, trailer and towed the Pilot home. I found in an online chat group, [XXX] that other Pilot owners have has the same issue and a Recall was being issued from Honda due to improper bearing clearance issue. Honda Service Bulletin [XXX] I took the Pilot into Honda Dealership and they said internal noise coming from the lower part of the engine, main bearing failure. Gave me an estimate for a used engine $8,924.70 or new short block $10,694.24 plus $250. Recall was released after the 1st of the year, NHTSA Recall No. : 23V-751 My Pilot fall out of recall being manufactured in February. Less than 7,000 miles ago. I had to replace a cam in this engine and Honda America assisted with repairs as it was abnormal for a cam to need replacing around 100,000 miles. The vehicle has a defect with the radio/audio/bluetooth system making a crackling sound while operating the vehicle. The Honda dealer acknowledged that this is a recall issue, although no recall currently exists and as a result they replaced the FAKRA service cables. This did not solve the problem and it is one that is common to all Honda Pilots of this year. It is very distracting and cannot be stopped unless the vehicle is completely shut off.

We received written notice from Honda of NHTSA Recall Number 23V-858 of the Safety Recall for fuel pump failure and possible stalling and loss of power. The notice states that there is an increased risk of crash or injury, but they say they will be unable to perform repairs until the fall of 2024. When calling the local dealership they confirmed that they do not have any of the replacement parts to conduct the Recall repairs. It is wildly unacceptable that Honda will not begin repairs for at least another seven months given the vehicle can lose power and stall while driving. Vehicle owners should not be expected to pay for safety recall repairs up front in order to have a safe vehicle for their family.

- #11571692February 13, 2024EXTERIOR LIGHTING
While driving at night, with rain and fog, the low beam headlights became extremely dim which made it impossible to see the road. Surprisingly both low beam headlights went dim, not effective at all, I had to depend on my fog lights for a bit of visibility. Could it be the headlamp, turn signal switch on the column that has gone bad?? So dangerous, my wife was almost shaking as we slowly made our way home, and we live in the country so scary drive home.

This is regarding the MOST FAKRA Service Cables Safety Recall which affects the display in my car. It started off with the radio cutting out but has progressed to the display not working which affects the rear camera. I believe this is extremely dangerous. I have taken my car to the Honda dealership in Burlington, Iowa FOUR times and they have not fixed the problem. It's my understanding that they have not replaced the cable harness but have only "checked the connections" and in one instance, one of the maintenance workers told my husband that they simply "hit the dash" and it started working again. This dealership has been very troublesome to work with as they simply say that the screen never malfunctions for them. I don't believe this as I encounter a problem with the display EVERY time I drive it. I contacted the Honda Customer Support almost a month ago. They followed up with my husband two weeks ago asking for receipts from the dealership which we did not have. He informed them that the dealership should have them on file although the receipts never described what they attempted to do to fix the problem. Since them, I have followed up with Honda Customer Support TWICE and am not able to receive any sort of reply from them. I am at a loss with what to do as I don't feel comfortable driving my car but have no other option to. I heavily rely on my display and its back up camera features. It is greatly increasing my risk of a crash every time I drive it.

For no reason the Alarm is going off randomly the dash lights, interior lights, driving lights and headlights are flashing and loud clicking noises come from the dash. This happens frequently and has been going on for some time. I have had to remove the fuse from the Horn to keep it from waking us up at night which creates a potentially dangerous situation if I forget to plug it back in. Also this keeps running down the battery and when it is doing this, it sometimes won't start. I worry about it damaging other electronic parts and causing a dangerous situation. Honda must be aware of this issue with the Pilots. You can search online and find hundreds of others that have experienced the same issue. The Honda Ridgeline has the same issue and they have issued a TSB for it. I find it totally irresponsible that they would try to correct the Ridgeline but not also the Pilot. They know the TPMS Control Units are the problem and they need to fix them.

The engine shut down while driving down the highway with no warning. We thought it was just a dead battery but found out from the dealer that the connecting rod in the engine shattered without explanation. The check engine light NEVER came on and there were no other sensory warnings that there was an engine issue. The car has only 81,000 miles and has a solid, documented service record with the dealer so this engine failure was a total surprise. The car has only 81,000 miles and has a solid, documented service record with the dealer so this engine failure was a total surprise. It put the driver, my [XXX] daughter, in danger as the car shut down on a highway at night without warning. She safely pulled the car over to the side of the highway within a construction zone and waited alone in the dark for me to pick her up while cars were passing at highway speeds. This breakdown could have resulted in an engine fire again without warning. The Honda dealer inspected the engine and took photos of the broken connecting rod. I have sent a customer service request to American Honda with the pictures, maintenance records and diagnosis of the issue given by the dealer. - #11571220February 10, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
The Honda Sense camera failed due to an internal fault just outside the manufacturer's warranty. Dealership was needed to replace it in order to regain function at out of pocket cost. Upon the camera failing the driver is met with 5 warning lights that the following are no longer active: LKAS, ACC, Automatic Braking\Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Headlights, and Lane Mitigation System. You have to clear each of these before you can use the main dash (including MPH). Cruise control is completely disabled. Although there is no asserted timeline for the life of the camera, research shows (and dealership sates) that this is a known issue. Reaching out to Honda's technical support team returns a somewhat blanket response stating that although campaigns exist for other issues with my VIN it is my monetary responsibility to handle this particular issue, although I was writing to the campaign department to add to the growing list of those with this particular issue in hopes of moving toward a recall, not because I expected there was one in place for this issue. For reference, Vehicle was parked when issue began.

- #11570992February 9, 2024ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Pilot. The contact stated while driving at 55 MPH, the engine made abnormal clicking sounds and was shaking while accelerating. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The independent mechanic recommended that the contact wait to see if the vehicle was included in an upcoming recall. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, and it was recommended that the rocket oil pressure switch and an oil change be performed. The vehicle was previously repaired however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired due to the independent mechanic recommending that the contact wait for a recall. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) as a possible solution however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that assist might be provided under a Good Will Program. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

- #11570838February 8, 2024ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
The contact owned a 2016 Honda Pilot. The contact stated while driving approximately 35-40 MPH and approaching the red traffic light, she depressed the brake pedal to come to a complete stop. The contact noticed smoke coming out of the cowl of the vehicle. The contact then turned on the AC and smoke came through the A/C vents. The contact opened the windows. The contact stated that the smoke became thicker and brownish while pulling into the parking lot of a nearby shopping center. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact parked and turned off the vehicle. The contact then noticed that there was a hole in the middle of the hood, and there was a flame coming through the hole. The contact stated that the hood and the windshield became engulfed in fire within 3 minutes even though it was raining. The fire department extinguished the fire, and police officers arrived at the scene, but the contact did not know whether a fire department report and a police report were filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, awaiting to be totaled. The local dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.
