The contact owns a 2018 Honda Pilot. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System and Gasoline) however the parts to repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair as the recall notice was received several months ago. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The contact stated when driving the vehicle, it stuttered and stalled. The automatic car start was inoperable. The check engine and the all wheel drive warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and stated a misfire code existed and that parts were not available. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer who performed a diagnostic as well, but stated the valve system needed to be flushed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000. VIN tool confirms part not available.

for months Honda dealer has not yet resolved the two recalls indicating parts and instructions from Honda are not availalbe. Thus, the dealer is unable to resolve the recalls. This has been going on for months and is unacceptable. When the NHTSA issues a recall, why can't consumers get their recalls fixed ?

Backup camera malfunctioning. Display on my infotainment screen shows vibrant colors, impairing visibility, only when in reverse and using the backup camera. All other screen displays are working normally. In day light the backup camera picture is messed up with different colors green purple and doesn't show clear crisp picture of surroundings hampering the visibility when backing-up and in night time it's actually even worse. This has been an issue for more than a year now and started happening after my initial bumper to bumper warranty from Honda expired. AutoNation Honda Dealership here in Roseville California says it's a faulty camera issue and wants to charge for replacement; but when I search online looks like it has impacted lot of 2019 Honda Pilots and even other Honda models. This should be dealt as a security concern and Honda should replace the faulty camera units as cameras are starting to have this defect within 3-4 years of a new car being pushed into service. Clearly these year models don't seem to have proper cameras which should last a lot longer than just 3-4 years. I already took my vehicle for the cable related safety recall but even after that work was done by dealership, the camera is still not showing proper picture when backing-up.

Hi Honda pallet is completely rusted out and corroded on the back underneath. My mechanic said it is dangerous. The left-hand side could literally fall out while driving and this is not something normally seen even with the car being older

I bought the car three days prior to this event. On February 14, 2024, I reached into the third row to lower the seats and I pulled the black strap toward me like it says to do in the manual and the seat came down so hard it crushed my hand between the seat and the side of the car and broke my 5th metacarpal in 3 places. I had to have surgery 6 days later and had hardware put in my hand. Even the emergency room doctor said there is something wrong with my seat. This story is similar to the boy that got crushed in the third row seat and died. Why is this seat like this? I realize if this was a child it would be all over the news but I am an adult and our lives matter much less to the media.

SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I see that the NTSHA is already launching an investigation into certain Handa Passports and Insights. The 2021 (and likely other) Pilot Ibown has the same phantom emergency braking issue. This happens at least on a monthly basis if not more often. I will say there have been a half dozen times where the car did activate the emergency braking properly but all other times have been phantom braking where there was no immenent threat of a collision.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
1: all system warnings on to include auto lights and brake system warning (there were at least 10 warnings) - auto lights stopped working 2: car would not turn off - needed to press shut off button up to 10 times 3. remote start started car and then would not shut off and locked us out of the car - was unable to get in with key fobs for over 45 minutes, finally used emergency key in the fob and somehow the back door opened and we climbed through to turn off car.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
In late December of 2023, our 2020 Honda Pilot began showing a "brake system" warning light, as well as numerous dashboard warnings indicating that automatic cruise control, lane keeping assist, collision mitigation, automatic high beam, and lane departure were not functioning properly. Our local Honda dealer diagnosed the vehicle as having a multipurpose camera failure. There were no accidents or damage of any sort that preceded this incident, and replacement of this camera cost us nearly $2000 out of pocket (invoice attached). There appear to be numerous similar reports on Honda internet forums, such as this one [XXX] ). Given the proven benefit of advanced safety systems, this failure absolutely increased the risk of collision. 2016 Honda Pilot EX-L Connecting Rod Bearing Failure. I am the original owner of this vehicle, which has around 98,000 miles on it and now has a serious rod knock. My vin is not covered by the current recall, but I believe it should be. It is unacceptable that a manufacturer fault should not be addressed. Since my car is out of warranty I am on the hook for many thousands of dollars, not to mention the diminished value of a poorly built vehicle.

Connecting rod bearing failed and caused engine failure. Car began inoperable on the highway. Honda has issued recalls on this exact failure but has failed to recall my vehicle. Honda needs to be held liable to investigate my vehicle. This is a rare failure that is ONLY caused my manufacturer defects. This is the third inquiry I am sending and no one has done anything to demand that Honda issues recalls for ALL affected vehicle for the manufacturing defect. Please do your part so I don't have to hire an attorney. Thank you

SUSPENSION
I just purchased a 2006 honda pilot 4 wheel drive....i did not get under the suv to look at the frame structure, i had the differential fluid changed, the suv was put on a lift and noticed there is extreme rusting going on under the vehicle. in reading some complaint from previous owners, the possibility of the frame separating from the body is a possibility , in addition to other parts doing the same thing, this presents a severe safety issue for me and my family. IF HONDA did not protect the under carriage with the proper rust prevention inhibitors , this might cause the under parts to fall apart.... I THINK HONDA NEEDS TO DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO REMOVE THE RUST AND COAT THE NECESSARY PARTS TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ACCIDENT HAPPENING BECAUSE OF THE RUSTING , COULD HAVE PEOPLE KILLED IN GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS. THIS LOOKS LIKE A TREMENDOUS LAWSUIT AGAINST HONDA FOR NOT PROPERLY INSULATING THE METAL TO AVOID THE RUSTING.. THIS NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION BY THE HONDA CORP TO AVOID FUTURE LAWSUITS............................................................... Message is showing in instrumental panel KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM. I checked on line found Honda have found this problem with 2016 Honda Pilots. When I called Honda Woodbridge, VA dealer about it she (Customer Service agent) took my Vin and said no there is no recall. On line I found Honda Service Bulletin they do have recall. I am including Pic of vehicle and also Service Bulletin about it. Honda Dealers Should have this information.

Vehicle has had issues of complete loss of power while driving and while awaiting at a light even with the fuel saving mode deactivated so that it wouldn't shut off at every stop. Looked for blown fuses,codes or any lose relays but everything appeared good. Both days were clear one day the temperature was 35 degrees and the other day it was 60 degrees the only date I remember is below. There was no crash but had traffic stopped since I couldn't get the vehicle to start at a very busy road and intersection. As a disabled person I can't be exposed to these unsafe conditions since I have serious medical conditions.

2006 Honda Pilot Subframe rust which is causing the subframe to pull away from the body of the vehicle. Known issue with a patch kit, but no dealership or auto body shop willing to fix it. Honda has recalled the Ridgeline and CRV for the same issue, but not the Honda Pilot. Vehicle is in perfect running condition except for this design flaw. Would like to get it repaired instead of junking a perfectly drivable vehicle.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
I had no prior warning that anything was wrong with my Pilot. I tried to start my vehicle and it would not stay running. We first replaced the battery and it still wouldn't run. We had the vehicle towed to the repair shop. We were told the fuel pump was bad and we had it replaced. Vehicle runs perfectly now. I know there is a recall on many Honda vehicles but my VIN number was not part of the fuel pump recall. I believe that it should have been part of the recall and that Honda should pay for the repair and towing.

ENGINE
Car engine started knocking a few days ago and yesterday the engine light came on and the car started loosing power even stalling at one point driving. Looks like a connecting rod bearing on bank 2 can be heard clearly. I understand a service bulletin just came out yesterday for this same issue on my year vehicle but I don't see the vin on the list and it should be added to list having the same exact problem. Thank you
