The picture from the back-up camera, as displayed in the infotainment center, has become grossly colorful and requires extreme scrutiny to determine specific shapes, rendering it untrustworthy. This happens every time the car is put in reverse. The car gave no warning that there was any issue. It has not yet been inspected by anyone other than myself. I did do a reset of the infotainment system, but that did not fix the problem. This will make visibility more difficult when backing out of my driveway, into parking spaces, etc.

- #11583805April 18, 2024FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
February 2024, I received the 23V-858 recall notice for the fuel pump module that may have an improperly molded impeller and can cause the fuel pump to become inoperable. On [XXX], my vehicle stalled on [XXX] in Atlanta, GA. My car was towed to Honda Mall of Georgia in Buford, GA on [XXX]. On [XXX], the technicians at Honda Mall of Georgia confirmed that it was indeed the fuel pump (that is under a safety recall) had gone out. My car has sat there ever since because they have yet to receive a part from Honda. I has been 60 days and there has been no remedy due to the fact they have not received a part. - #11583820April 18, 2024FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Pilot. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle began to lose motive power. The check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle, but the failure recurred. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The dealer was contacted but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but was unable to confirm when the part would be available. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

- #11583923April 18, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I see there is an investigation involving the automatic emergency braking on some Hondas. I previously owned a 2018 Honda Accord, but currently own a 2021 Honda Pilot. Both had/have the automatic emergency braking. Both cars have the same issue with hard braking for no reason. To me the Pilot is worse due to almost having 2 people rear end me due to the random hard breaking. In my opinion the investigation needs to possibly expand into other models. It has never been reproduced as I just assumed it happens. It definitely puts people at risk.

This vehicle is subject to NHTSA Recall Number 23V-858. Four months after the recall announcement, our local Honda dealer does not have parts to perform the recall service nor has an ETA when they will have parts.

- #11583681April 17, 2024FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Pilot. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, she heard an abnormal sound emanating from the engine compartment, after which the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the fuel pump. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the high-pressure fuel pump. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline), and the VIN was included, but parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was unknown.

- #11583693April 17, 2024FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
When I turned on the engine for me 2017 Honda Pilot, check engine light and every system in the car had a problem. "AWD system problem", "Emissions system problem", "Steering problem" and many more. Went to the local honda dealer and they diagnosed it as a high pressure fuel pump problem. There is a recall for this fuel pump for te 2017-2020 Honda Pilot, but for the VIN # for my Pilot, there is no recall. That does not make any sense. Now I have to spend almost $2,000 to replace the fuel pump, which should be recalled.

Dealership involved is Lamacchia Honda at 932 Genesee St, Syracuse, NY 13204. They have the failed engine and vehicle currently. The engine failed rapidly, and could have caused a unexpected stall and made the vehicle hard to control, had it not happened while the vehicle was parked. The issue was noticed in early March, approximately 116,200 miles on the odometer, with a small knocking noise not noticeable under all conditions. Once the knock noise was discovered, the vehicle was driven approximately 100 miles to return home. The next morning the car was started, in order to identify the noise. The engine was running for 4-5 seconds before the knock became rapidly worse, and a low oil level warning was displayed. I immediately shut down the car, and confirmed that the engine oil level was full. After this, I drained 1 liter of engine oil for analysis (from Blackstone Laboratories), and parked the vehicle until it could be towed to Lamacchia Honda. After the engine was disassembled, the dealership stated that the #1 rod bearing and crankshaft journal were damaged. No repairs have been completed yet. Dealership has suggested a long block or engine replacement will be required. I believe this incident is related to NHTSA recall No. [XXX} Attached is the invoice from the dealer. - #11583722April 17, 2024POWER TRAIN
Transmission slip/jerk/clunk when going above 2 RPMs. This has happened before 3 times with the first time happening in 2019, then 2022 and then again on [XXX], 2024. I've taking it to the dealer all 3 times and they performed a transmission fluid flush since apparently the transmission fluid gets too hot and needs to be flushed every so often. This last time they told me I needed a new torque converter ($5,500) to fix the issue. This a huge safety issue especially when driving in the highway as the cars loses speed and begins to jerk. I see similar issues with the 2017-2019 models [XXX] ) which sound the same as to what's happening to the 2016 models. There are a ton of complaints on the web for 2016 Pilot which the NHTSA should take into consideration. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11583713April 17, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
When driving down both highways and interstates on several occasions my vehicle has slammed the brakes on prompting the warning of emergency braking. This when there are no vehicles directly in my lane or path. It often occurs when passing a tractor trailer on the interstate so much so that I hover my foot on the gas pedal to counteract this braking.

Frequently, my 2021 Honda will apply the brakes without warning or very abruptly. While using the adaptive cruise control, the car will brake suddenly when there is not a car anywhere near me. Also, when driving on two lane roads, the car slams on the brakes when there is not a car in front of me.

The radio intermittently changes volume, brightness level, turns off/on all by itself. This has caused the volume to get so loud I have to take my eyes off the road. There has been several other complaints online about this. It's dangerous to be driving to have the radio all of a sudden startle everyone and the driver tries to fix it while driving

I recently purchased 2013 Honda Pilot (89,000 miles) and can hear a distinct intermittent hum only when the vehicle is traveling between 45 and 50 mph. I have taken it to the dealer to repair it twice, but they have not found a problem. Ball bearings are fine, transmission fluid was changed, but hum is still there. This model is known to have transmission problems, and I don’t want issues down the road.

- #11582684April 12, 2024ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
The recurring malfunctions in my vehicle's front screen system have repeatedly endangered me, especially when it suddenly blacks out while navigating unfamiliar roads or during backing maneuvers. Additionally, the faulty front vehicle sensor has caused my vehicle to halt abruptly, even when no obstacles are present. Despite numerous visits to the dealer, the issues persist, and their repeated requests to bring it in have yielded no solutions. Since purchasing the vehicle new in 2020, these persistent safety concerns have become increasingly dangerous as they are getting worse. I have attempted to contact Honda with no resolution
