ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While diving at times, the vehicle will flash BRAKE and the wheel will shutter when a vehicle is going the opposite direction, or while ascending and descending on a hill. On a rare occasion, the vehicle will attempt to brake itself. Also, when at a complete stop, the vehicle will go into auto-engine stop. When the brake pedal is release, the vehicle stalls out and Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) will flash. In-order to restart the vehicle, a sequence needs to be followed, put the vehicle in neutral, then park, then turn engage the start/stop ignition button. It is only when you follow this sequence will the car restart and you can engage the transmission. A recall was completed for the autostop issue, but since that repair, the above issues have increased in frequency and almost caused an accident in the middle of an intersection. The dealership says they have no clue as to the cause and need to scan the vehicle at a cost of $300 just to investigate.

The water is leaking from the Driver- Side rail beween the diver window and from windshield. I took it to Honda dealer they told me windshield issue need to replace it. As recommend i replaced the windshield and the water is pouring from it during the rain. Issue still exist. I reached out several mechnics they told me it is body issue from sun/moon roof.

vehicle has recall for fuel pump. vehicle has had the CEL (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT) on for the fuel system. it comes and goes and has had shuttering issues. I have called local dealer and was told until the vehicle is completely disabled that their hands were tied. The dealer wouldn't even look at my vehicle. I feel the safety of my family is at risk as we travel the very busy interstate of the suburbs of Cincinnati. I do not like Diving a vehicle that may become disabled with my kids in it

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact's wife pulled over at a gas station and had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic, who referred the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the engine failed due to connecting rod bearing wear. The failure mileage was approximately 134,000.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? THE A/C COMPRESSOR IS BAD, REMOVED DISCHARGE HOSE AND FOUND METAL CONTAMINATION. NEED TO REPLACE ALL MAJOR COMPONENTS OF THE A/C SYSTEM. NEED TO REPLACE THE A/C COMPRESSOR, CONDENSER, EXPANSION VALVE, EVAPORATOR, DISCHARGE HOSE AND FLUSH LINES. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The safety of both the driver and passengers was compromised due to the malfunctioning air conditioning system in the 2017 Honda Pilot EX-L. Driving without a functional AC system can lead to discomfort, distraction, and potential health risks, especially during extreme weather conditions. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, problem has been confirmed by Honda of Bay County on 04 April 2024. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The forward collision warning and automatic braking system are terrible and have been terrible since we purchased our Pilot new from a dealer. The warning lights and beep go off frequently when driving on highways and surface streets, in fact it’s nearly impossible to have an incident-free trip longer than 20-30 minutes. The automatic braking system has engaged many times, causing unexpected and sudden slowing of the vehicle, which has the potential to cause confusion, loss of control, or even a vehicular accident. Making matters worse, one cannot simply disengage the system permanently; it must be turned off each time the engine is started and requires holding a button down for several seconds.

Without any indication of a problem, the check engine light came on after turning off the car briefly. The car would not shift and the dash reads transmission problem. We had the car towed and we’re told we need a new transmission. There was 68,000 miles on the car and it has always been maintained.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The front camera has gone out on the Honda pilot, but inconsistently works. It will turn on while driving and turn off while the adaptive cruise control is on. The vehicle does not have a way to bypass the camera, so then there is consistently lights and alerts on. With not being able to bypass the camera features they will automatically come on or off while driving while the camera is not working properly. This vehicle was purchased in October of 2019, and has had camera issues since January 2024. The vehicle is not even 5 years old and has consistently had problems. The fuel injectors went out at 3 years, which I would not expect to go out, and from discussion with dealership there was an extended warranty for the same year Honda Odyessy, which was not extended for the Honda Pilot, but both vehicles have the same fuel injector system.

I have an active recall on my honda, the fuel pump. I have had symptoms of this problem over the past year even prior to the recall. Bradenton Honda is refusing to do the recall now, stating my car hasn't stalled and there is no light on. They are waiting until FALL to do the recall but there is a long list. They said they can only do recalls on cars that stall. My car has intermittent losses of power when accelerating. I have issues where all the lights on the dash would just turn on and then it disappeared. Now the alternator is dead and a faulty fuel pump can cause this. I don't want to pay twice for a faulty alternator if Honda won't honor the recall. Honda is stating the recall is not really needed and they feel Honda is making customers nervous. I would like you to contact Bradenton honda and have them honor the recall now.

The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated while responding. The contact stated that the failure recurred increasingly while driving on a steep incline and on a slight incline. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the vehicle was purchased, but the failure could not be duplicated. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000. The battery has gone bad twice (second replacement only took nine months) since an update was applied to the auto engine restart function. The car will work for some amount of time after the battery is replaced and then begin to not restart (shut off) at a light after the auto engine shutoff is engaged from the brake. It progressively gets worse until we replace the battery.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Sudden automatic brake was applied for no apparent reason. There was no collision situation at all. Car suddenly applied strong brake when we were driving at 40 MPH. The car came to a complete stop on a busy road, luckily for us the vehicle behind was bit far back. It was so scary.
