The sunroof exploded while driving on the interstate. It is available for inspection. If I was driving with sunroof open the exploded glass could have caused injury.

The auto idle stop feature restart did not work properly and instead the car froze in stop and go traffic on a freeway. Not only did the restart, not work properly in addition the car's electronics froze with multiple error messages on the dashboard coming up. I had to turn the car off by pressing the engine start/stop button, waiting and then restarting it like normal.

2016 Pilot has an annoying issue. When it is turned off, the panel lights flicker. You can hear the relays clicking behind the panel. The headlights come on. Often the car alarm randomly goes off. They want to charge us $800 to replace the Keyless control unit. and nothing was resolved with this issue. It seems they are just throwing darts at possible solutions. They won't guarantee this will fixe the issue. They will not refund us the $800 if this part isn't even a problem ;-( To our knowledge, we don't think we have had the issue occur when the car is unlocked. It doesn't happen every time the car is locked

The contact owns a 2020 Honda Pilot. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH and accelerating to merge onto a highway, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact pulled off the highway and drove to the residence. The contact stated that the failure occurred several more times. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that a fuel sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact drove the vehicle to a different dealer who advised that the fuel pump was failing but that the part was not available to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

At 86k miles, the engine lost all power and abruptly slowed the vehicle with fast moving cars behind. Vehicle eventually stalled in the middle of the intersection. The car has always made a slight ticking noise, but on this drive, it rapidly worsened before stalling. Cars traveling behind could have crashed into the rear of the vehicle, or we could have been broad sided while stuck in the intersection. The dealership inspected the car and said the crankshaft bearing is bad and the whole engine needs to be replaced. They determined this purely by sound. They did not do any other inspection of the engine or oil. This leads me to believe this is a known and common problem that put my family in danger. I now have a used engine installed, and will likely be experiencing this same situation in the near future after reading so many others with this engine having the same problem.

In April my transmission started slipping and making a whirring noise. I took it to my dealership three times and they could never find a problem. In late June 2024 while driving back from OH to PA, the transmission died and left us stranded on [XXX] in WV with car zipping by. We spent several hundred dollars on towing, hotel rooms and rental cars. Had to leave our car in WV for two weeks for repair. The car was five hours from home. There is a lawsuit for the 9 speed transmission and I am here to confirm there is a problem. There was only 90000 miles on the car and all preventive services have been performed prior to transmission dying. **Description of the Problem:** I am experiencing significant engine issues with my 2016 Honda Pilot that seem consistent with the problems described in the recent connecting rod bearing recall, yet my vehicle is not included in the current recall. **Component/System Failed:** - The component that appears to have failed is the connecting rod bearings within the engine. - The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. **Safety Risk:** - Persistent rattling and knocking noises from the engine area indicate potential connecting rod bearing wear, posing a significant safety risk. If the connecting rod bearing fails, it can cause the engine to seize, leading to a sudden loss of power while driving, which could result in an accident. **Reproduction/Confirmation:** - I have reported these issues to the Honda dealership multiple times. Despite my concerns and detailed descriptions of the symptoms, the dealership has been unable to diagnose the problem definitively. - The problem has not been conclusively reproduced or confirmed by the dealer due to the vehicle not being included in the recall. **Inspections:** - Inspected by Honda dealership multiple times, but the issue was not confirmed due to VIN exclusion from the recall. **Warning Lamps/Messages:** - No warning lamps or messages. Symptoms include persistent engine noise, which first appeared a few months ago. **Additional Information:** - Many 2016 Pilot owners have reported similar issues on forums like [XXX] , suggesting a broader problem beyond the current recall. **Request for Action:** Given the symptoms and the existing recall, I request NHTSA investigate expanding the recall to include more VINs with similar issues. This would ensure necessary repairs and prevent potential engine failure and safety risks. Thank you for your attention. I hope a thorough investigation leads to including more affected vehicles in the recall for overall safety and reliability. Vehicle would brake suddenly. Then shortly thereafter, the collision mitigation system error appeared on the dash. Honda dealership says the camera no longer works and the entire system needs to be replaced. The fact that the camera stopped working spontaneously is concerning.

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the ongoing safety issues with my leased Honda, which I obtained in March 2024. Shortly after leasing the vehicle, I noticed that the sensors would frequently activate and deactivate without any apparent reason. In May 2024, while driving, all the sensors turned on, deactivating all safety features and causing the car to swerve. The sensor lights remained on the next day, prompting me to take the car to the dealership. I was informed that the sensor and a camera required repairs, which were subsequently addressed. Despite my concerns about the safety of driving this car, especially with three children, I was assured that the issue was resolved. I filed a complaint with Honda Corporate, and they indicated that the issue would need to recur 2-3 times before considering a different vehicle. Unfortunately, on [XXX], all the sensors activated again while I was driving, causing the car to stop accelerating in the middle of a busy road with my children in the back seat. This placed us in a life-threatening situation, as other vehicles were traveling at high speeds. The transmission light also turned on, advising to avoid high speeds. The next morning, I reported the issue to Honda and arranged for roadside assistance to tow the car to the dealership. During the towing process, the sensors activated again, and the car struggled to accelerate. Once at the dealership, I provided videos of the car's behavior to Ricardo, the service advisor, who acknowledged the severity of the issue. However, he later informed me that the sensors were not currently active, and the scanner could not detect any issues. Despite keeping the car overnight for further testing, they were unable to identify or repair the problem. I was advised to either pick up the car or leave it with them, but no loaner vehicle was offered. I am extremely concerned about the safety of driving this car. My 2017 Honda Pilot touring edition stopped suddenly in a busy intersection causing major traffic back up and dangerous situations until police officers showed up to help. I called road service and it would ne over an hour before i could get help. I was unable to place push button in neutral by several means to get out of traffic and with officers help. No means to override shifter to neutral in cabin. It was discovered on this model you needed to manually place in neutral under the hood after removing several items air filter covers and locating a specail screw which required a special tool to override which none of is had. I am at the dealership now and they are telling me the same thing. Very dangerous situation for me others with same year

This vehicle has continued to have faulty fuel injectors. Upon investigation I found that American Honda Motor Inc. submitted a recall and that it was covered under warranty. I am a department of State employee overseas with this American made vehicle which has faulty fuel injectors. I asked that the Honda American company provide the fuel injector parts to the Mexican Honda company so my vehicle could be fixed and they refused. According to their customer service representatives “the warranty does not extend past the United States” and therefore they are not responsible for the faulty fuel injectors.

The keyless control unit module is malfunctioning, causing the car to attempt to turn itself on, and the car alarm to go off constantly. This problem has occurred multiple times and has been inspected by the dealership mechanics. The issue comes with no warning lights, messages, or other indication forms. The dashboard lights up and there is no odometer reading, the MPH is not displaying or any other functions within the dashboard. The mechanic shop received the error "Data on keyless access control unit reach ignition voltage at 25 volts internally". According to the Honda corporate office, there are no recalls regarding this issue. I had the same problem back on [XXX] and Galpin Honda located at 11151 Laurel Canyon, Mission Hills, CA 91340 performed Campaign 20-117-6S100-2016=17 Pilot Ridgeline Start/Stop Switch - Keyless system problem and replaced the engine start/stop switch. I called the Dealership multiple times and was finally able to speak to the Service Manager, Peter Melendez, who was not able to approve for my car to be inspected free of charge. Please note that I have had multiple electrical issues including the sensor system which I had to pay out of pocket.
