When Driving my vehicle I abruptly lost power steering on the freeway. I received an error on the screen " Electric Power Steering Problem, assisted steering reduced". I was able to safely drive my car off the freeway. However, I feel like this problem can cause someone else with not enough strength such as an elderly person to loose control of the vehicle if they encounter the same issue. I took my car to the Acura Dealer, and they advised they needed to replace the Rack and Pinon due to a " Steering Position Sensor" Issue.

The transfer case splines between the transfer case are stripping causing the car to lose power in the rear wheels forever. This is a safety hazard as now the wheels lose traction and massive oversteer. This is dangerous in many conditions especially rain as turns are much more prone to sliding and losing traction. It was confirmed at the dealer and is a known issue in the Acura car community. The only way to diagnose the problem is putting it on the left And putting the car in drive to see if the all wheel drive system is working (all 4 wheels spinning). This is a scary problem for owners as no codes are generated since there is no sensor to catch this . The cars other system were also designed with the intention of the car being all wheel drive so this could lead other systems to fail causing a likely accident or collision.

The contact owns a 2020 Acura TLX. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the "Pull Over Immediately" message was displayed. The contact's wife pulled over, and the "Hill Start Assist Problem", "Collision Mitigation System Problem", "Road Departure Mitigation Problem", and "Blind Spot Info System Problem" messages were displayed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that there was oil leaking from the crankshaft seal into an unknown sensor. The dealer repaired the recall under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was idling rough and failed to accelerate while driving. Several unknown messages were displayed. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, who test-drove the vehicle for 30 miles and performed an unknown repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,990.

On several occasions I have experienced issues with the performance of my vehicle. Upon start up and attempting to move forward while the car is in drive the vehicle hesitates to move and feels like it is going to choke and stop. I have experienced this same issue at stops while the car is in operation. There is an open recall for 2015-20 TLX no SH-AWD Fuel Pump Mtr Saf Recall Exp2, RECALL DATE:12/18/2023 which has yet to be fixed. I have been told by Tempe Acura that the parts are not available and basically I will be called when the parts are available. My safety and the safety of others are at risk when the car is not accelerating and causing a stalling or non-movement of the car. I have experienced the car stalling abruptly and coming to hard stops. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer by notice in the mail. The vehicle has been inspected when another recall was fixed which took over a year to resolve. This specific issue has yet to be resolved. There was another issue of the car stalling, which the dealer states that the electronic system needed a computer update. The problem first appeared when I purchased the car from {XXX]. Power take off unit on the TLX TYPE-S’s are stripping at the splines where the drive shaft and PTU meet. This disables the cars AWD system without triggering any codes, giving drivers false confidence to drive in low traction environments which may lead to accidents. The car retains FWD function but struggles to gain grip on the road at all speeds because it is an AWD designed platform. The dealership of Spreen Acura diagnosed my car and confirmed that the PTU fluid was previously leaking and had metal shavings. They also confirmed that the car was now FWD and struggled with getting traction with acceleration. This is a problem as it does not show any indication during failure, there could be many people with failed PTU’s who are unaware and driving daily. With rainy season coming up, this could pose a big risk as drivers with these cars will think their TYPE-S is AWD and my end up getting into accidents when driving unaware.

Car was parked with Emergency Brake Parking on. Returned a few minutes later and couldn’t move the car. Mulitple errors popped on the dash board and the Navi screen. Reset the EBP and even disconnected the battery to try and rest it but nothing happened. Although still starts, my car won’t still move and I had to get it towed to the repair shop.

- #11641522February 8, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING
I was driving on the freeway going at the speed of traffic about 65-70mph then suddenly I heard my car engine slowing down and multiple lights popped up on my dashboard. I looked at my speedometer and it indeed was decreasing in speed. I tried to accelerate little by little and it did not. My check brake system, check brake hold system, check power steering system, check VSA system, check hillstart assist system, check emission system lights popped up on my dashboard. My car felt like I was popping the clutch, jerking a lot. I was able to move over to the right shoulder and park. I turned the car off and I was able to turn it back on unfortunately but the lights were still popping up and my car kept jerking and not accelerating. This happened while driving on the highway this is extremely dangerous! There has been others with the same issue.

1. Fuel pump module and engine crankshaft. 2. For the fuel pump module, the engine may not start or can stall while driving; increasing the risk of crashing or injury. For the engine crankshaft, the connecting rod bearing can prematurely wear and seize, causing engine damage. The damaged engine may run improperly or stall while driving, increasing the risk of a fire, crash, or injury. 3. The problem hasn’t been reproduced or confirmed by the dealer. 4. The vehicle hasn’t been inspected. 5. There were no warning signs. I have received letters in mail regarding the recalls, however the dealership has advised the first available appointment to service my car is September 2025.

The vehicles AWD system has prematurely failed as confirmed by the car dealership Acura of Pembroke Pines that I have taken it to. The lack of traction to the rear wheels causes excessive torque steering and constant engaging of the VSA system if the road is even remotely wet and the vehicle is under anything more than mid level acceleration. There are several Acura TLX Type-S trim vehicles that are being reported to have this common issue and Acura / Honda is keeping this quiet and replacing the prematurely failing transmission and transfer cases with what I fear are the same faulty parts instead of properly developing a revised updated part that will properly correct the issue. An AWD system is meant to give the driver confidence on the road and premature failure under slippery road conditions be it rain or snow is putting peoples lives in jeopardy.

- #11640171February 2, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
On a slightly snowing evening driving on the highway, a warning was displayed indicating "Some Driver Assist Systems Cannot Operate, Radar Obstructed" and the green icon turned orange. Traveling about 45 mph, I slowed down to get over and the car drastically slowed down without me pressing the brake. After about 10 more minutes of driving the icon turned green again. This has happened on more than one occasion creating a serious safety risk, typically during inclement weather.
