TIRES:TREAD/BELT
Tire tread is cracking and breaking away in small chunks. The tires are OEM (Toyota Tundra 22') Bridgestone Dueler H/T 265/70R18 model 685 with manufacture date of 1022. I do not feel safe driving on these tires due to tread rubber breaking away even in the middle of the tire. All four tires show cracks but both rear tires are worse of the four. I have had regular service and tire rotation by Toyota dealership but they did not notify me of the issue. The truck has 17K on it and tires have plenty of tread depth. Location of truck is in the southwest and not is used in cold environment.

Drove the truck to the store, upon starting it to leave the engine had a loud knocking and whining sound (the truck has only 38xxx miles). I drove directly across the street to the dealership who looked and listened to it and was then told that because there was no engine light on, I would have to make an appointment for later on the following week. They then told me because the engine light was not on that I would be fine to drive home. I did question this several times and was reassured that as long as I did not "gas it" I would be okay to drive it. On the ride home, my truck power kept surging, the entire truck was shaking due to the rough idle and the engine smelt like it was very hot. I did end up towing my truck to a different Toyota dealership that agreed to look at it. The truck is no longer drivable. This is the 10th recall on this truck.

Traveling on interstate with cruise control set. 55,xxx miles. Engine abruptly stopped running. Display indicated "engine stopped. Please stop vehicle immediately". Safety concern: Vehicle would not re-start to get off the interstate. Towed to dealer. Dealer acknowledges engine is blown. Toyota guidance is to rebuild engine from parts only. Short block, turbos, heads, coolers, etc. Unacceptable. Complete assembly replacement is more cost effective for manufacturer and dealer both. Note: There were no codes displayed or other indication prior to the abrupt failure.

Purchased 2024 Toyota Tundra from dealer brand new with 3 miles. Noticed tapping noise coming from engine area. Reported to Service and Toyota specialists claimed to be normal. Same day recall 24TA07 was reported for engine debris found from production machining. Dealer suggested to take to another dealer for second opinion. Second dealer also claimed it is normal, but still they are replacing torque converter and transmission to try and eliminate the noise that they claim is normal. Videos of engine noises are not able to be uploaded. They can identify the problem is happening on 2024 Tundra as well.

Took delivery of 2024 Toyota Tundra in January 2024. Dealer did not inform me of the 1 key fob now the second one later as part of sales process. Only when I finalized delivery was I informed of this condition. Was promised the second key fob in a few weeks. It’s now 5 months later and all previous dates for the second key fob have come and gone. Projections went from January, to March, May, July and now August. It’s a safety issue because users should have both key fobs promised in the owners manual on page 110.

I have lost engine power while driving highway speeds on more than one occasion. There is no consistency on when this condition occurs. The engine light comes on and the engine goes into limp mode. Under the current circumstances, my Tundra is unsafe and poses a hazard to me and communities at large. This is because there is something faulty with my Tundra that is causing the sudden loss of engine power. Once I pull to the side of the highway, turn off the engine, then restart the Tundra the engine light goes away and the truck operates normally and does not register a fault code.

The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Tundra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V381000 (Engine) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 65 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact's husband pulled the vehicle over to the shoulder of the roadway. The contact's husband turned off and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to the destination. The contact stated that the failure occurred while the contact's husband was driving on a busy six-lane highway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure had occurred two years ago but had not since reoccurred. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. While traveling at highway speed, with no warning my truck lost acceleration power. There were other vehicles in the road, and I had to travel across multiple lanes to get to an exit while the vehicle was continuously slowing down. This put myself and my children at risk due to the sudden loss of power. I was able to exit and turn the engine off, after which, the problem seemed to stop. I took my truck to the dealership where it was purchased to have them check the truck, and they were unable to reproduce the problem. Their inspection only showed them that there were engine misfires. They told me the issue would need to be reproduced or would need to happen to me again before anything could be done about it or before they could get Toyota involved. I did explain that I had the "Reduced Engine Power" and "Brake System Malfunction" warning light that, through my research, have been experienced with other Tundra owners when they had "engine failures."

SERVICE BRAKES
North Park Toyota knowingly sold me a 2023 Toyota Tundra with defective brakes and defective air conditioning. The brakes screach randomly, startling me as a driver and othwr drivers on the road. This causes me to react in an unsafe way, misapplying the brakes or not even applying the brakes at all when I hear the screaching sounds. Sometimes the vehicle brakes hard, sometimes not at all, and sometimes the vehicle feels as if the brakes are always on. It is very frightening. The dealership lied and said the brakes were still new at 18,000 miles. Then they said it was a "known issue" that they couldn't fix. They sold me a lemon and they knew it from the very beginning. I want my 2018 Tundra back that I traded in. They can buy this defective lemon back from me or I will sue Toyota and the individuals involved in selling this lemon to me. The brakes are defective 100 percent of the time I drive it, and it's worse when the weather changes. This truck ia dangerous and they knew it when they tricked me into buying it. I have complained to the dealership numerous times. They have no intention of addressing this problem whatsoever. I was conned into buying a vehicle they knew was a lemon.

Apparently widespread issue with uneven tire wear. I know multiple owners with the same issue despite rotating tires even 5k miles (myself included. They did apparently correct the issues with the trd pro but have failed to solve it for the rest of the line up. Much more wear on the outer aspects of the tires.

When accelerating from a stop or rolling stop the truck has a dangerous throttle lag. I have addressed this to dealership but no solutions they just put it in the notes. It has been an ongoing problem I’ve had with the truck since I bought new. It has put me in many dangerous situations

2 incidents to where the vehicle turned off on a heavy acceleratio. 1st incident -pulled out into traffic and accelerated heavily. Truck stopped and a warning light came on about emergency brake. I took it to dealer and the couldn't duplicate but called Toyota to talk to them qith no resolution. 2nd incident same thing heavily accelerated while pulling into traffic and car shut down with a different warning saying to pull over and restart truck. Took to Toyota with still no resolution There was about 10k Mike between the 2 incidents

While driving on the freeway, going about 65 mph and attempting to accelerate, the check engine light starting alarming and came on, and the vehicle engine shut off. I was able to somehow safely navigate the vehicle across multiple lanes of traffic without causing an accident. I lost power steering and any ability to accelerate. After being able to navigate to the side of the freeway, it took multiple times to restart the vehicle, but it did finally restart. During the remainder of the drive the issue did not occur again. I called the dealership where it recently was having recalls performed to have them look into the cause of this. They were able to tell me that the engine "stalled" but they had no resolution or desire to further investigate this matter. This is extremely disturbing to me as I am very lucky that this did not cause a major accident. I am currently pregnant with my second child and my son is [XXX] old. It is very scary to think that I could potentially be seriously harmed with my children in the vehicle if this even were to happen again. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The fuel gauge as well as DTE resets to full when vehicle is parked nose up on slight incline. My driveway is a few degrees pitched and I park so that the nose is pointing slightly up. After going through 40-70 miles on a new full tank of fuel my fuel gauge reset to full 3 times 3 days in a row. Each time I did the trick to get the fuel sensor to reset/re-read everything while on flat ground. Video was sent to local dealer showing that the fuel gauge is resetting to full incorrectly. Toyota tried a software fix on 2022's only that did not fix the issue. They have not tried to fix it since the 2022's came out. 100's of examples of this can be found all over online. If you park on a steeper incline the tank can reset to full even if you had 1/2 or 3/4's of a tank left. This is dangerous as you could run out of fuel while driving down the highway. Its especially dangerous if your significant other borrows the vehicle and assumes the truck has a full tank of gas when it may have much less.. To my knowledge the fuel gauge and DTE will not correct itself on its own either (has not for me at least). The only way to correct it is to actually fill up with fuel again or do the workaround while on flat ground. This is a safety issue so it is surprising Toyota hasn't fixed it especially since the Tundra has been out for a few years now.

When you pass other vehicle on the hwy way break malfunction light come on and lock the back wheels. first time toyota call me for check up and they change spark plug and charge me more than $600. It happen next time and they call me for check up. i went to toyota and show my video and picture about break malfunction. they charge me for diagnosis $189 and found nothing. It will very danger if I pass the one lane county road and malfunction my break system So far no accidents, Ihave video and picture of dash board. date ,time and place that occurred. also receipts from toyata. thank you

- For the brakes, one month after the purchase date (November 2022), the brakes make a loud screech and to this date (17 May 2024), they still screech. I have took it into the dealer to report it and they still don't have a remedy. - My engine had something internally brake on Easter Sunday 2024. When I first took it to the dealer on Monday, it took a day or two and they found nothing wrong. I picked it up and noticed a loud tapping noise coming from the engine, I took it back to the dealer, the technician opened up the motor and found metal shavings all over the inside of the motor. I had it replaced within a month and a half later, wow, brand new and this is what happened.

After stopping at a stop sign I attempted to cross the traffic to enter another lane. When I began to proceed I lost all power to the vehicle. The engine was still running but the accelerator pedal had no effect on the engine. As i was trying to cross the traffic, the vehicles I was trying avoid were now having to brake for me because I was in the middle of the road with no power. There were no warning lights or sounds produced, the vehicle just suddenly started to accelerate again. I currently have an appointment at the dealership. This problem has occurred three times in six months.
