The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled after idling and then attempting to accelerate. The failure was intermittent but became more frequent over time. While pulling out of a parking lot and turning into oncoming traffic, the transmission failed to shift gears properly or accelerate. The contact was able to coast into the next parking lot, shifted to park, activated the hazard lights, shifted to drive, and then waited until traffic cleared to continue driving. The contact stated that one mile later, while making a right turn, the vehicle stalled and failed to accelerate. The contact was able to coast off the road, shifted into park, and waited before shifting into drive and continuing driving. The failure had occurred on one occasion after refueling the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was started, and the engine made a loud cranking sound. The vehicle was previously included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), and the remedy, reprogramming the engine control module software, was completed. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,759.

The engine failed, and the overheating due to it caused the head gasket to warp. I have multiple recordings from Nissan advising this is a manufacturer defect, but they refuse to fix it unless we pay $5000+. I was driving on the high way and the vehicle shut off. Luckily i was able to safely get off but I was almost struck. I have recorded conversations with the dealership where they confirm they have multiple vehicles in the shop with the same issue. Its sitting at a Nissan dealership after being inspected at this time. There was 0 warning lights. The vehicle just shut off.

'Service CVT Power Reduced' - I have been getting this warning on and off for almost a year now. It seems to come on after the vehicle has been driving for about 30 minutes. The dealership claims they can only get a code when the warning is currently showing. And I have yet to be able to get it there while it is actively showing. I've gone there as soon as the following day and am told the codes are not stored. But I have heard otherwise. I am worried it is transmission related and I am going to go past my 60,000 mile warranty, which I am currently under. When the car is turned off for at least 5-10 minutes it seems to clear. But the issue seems to be happening more frequently. Weather does not seem to he a factor. I am in a nissan social media page and a lot of people seem to have the same issue with this year. Most people are told the same thing. A lot of others say it is the valve body or have had to have transmissions replaced.

I have two major safety concerns for my 2021 Nissan Rogue. 1) FAILED REAR DOOR ACTUATORS ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE: I own a 2021 Nissan Rogue with approximately 68,000 miles. The rear driver AND passenger side door lock actuator failed, causing the rear doors to no longer lock or unlock electronically using either the key fob or the interior power door lock switch. The door must now be operated manually from the inside, no one can freely open the doors from the outside. I have to crawl in the backseat to open the doors. This creates a safety concern because, in an emergency, a rear passenger may not be able to quickly exit the vehicle if the door cannot be unlocked electronically. This failure affects a rear passenger door and could delay a child's or other passenger's ability to exit the vehicle quickly in an emergency if the electronic lock cannot be operated. It also creates a vehicle security concern because the door does not lock properly. I have found multiple reports from other 2021 Nissan Rogue owners describing the same rear door lock actuator failure at similar mileage. This appears to be more than an isolated incident. The vehicle has not been involved in an accident, and the failure occurred during normal use. 2) FAILED EGR VALVE: The EGR cooler has failed internally and is allowing engine coolant into the combustion chambers. The vehicle experienced a sudden engine malfunction related to an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system failure. The diagnostic trouble code was P0401 –and was diagnosed with an EGR cooler failure causing coolant to leak into the combustion chambers. While driving, the vehicle displayed “Engine Malfunction-Power Reduced-Service Now.” The car went into reduced power mode, significantly limiting acceleration and normal vehicle operation, creating dangerous driving conditions. A sudden reduction in engine power on a highway or in traffic presents a significant safety hazard. Please investigate a recall.

- #11750019July 13, 2026ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Engine loss of power, exhaust producing white/gray smoke from tail pipe. Was stopped at stop light, pressed accelerator when light turned green. As I proceeded through the busy intersection, without warning, the engine lost power. As traffic was speeding up I was decelerating in front of a large tractor-trailer that nearly rear-ended me. Have not taken SUV to dealership or service center yet. No inspection has been completed. No warning, messages, or other symptoms appeared prior to the failure. The ADAS would shut off by itself.

The contact owned a 2024 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle accelerated inadvertently, and the speedometer increased to 112 MPH. The contact depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact swerved to avoid other vehicles, and the vehicle veered off the road, struck a tree, and rolled over approximately 10 times. The air bags deployed as needed. The contact noticed fumes before bystanders immediately assisted the contact out of the vehicle and advised the contact that the engine would catch on fire. The vehicle caught on fire. No further information was available. A Police report was filed. The contact was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The contact sustained fractured right ribs number five and seven, a fractured lumbar spine L1, bruises, lacerations, and soreness on the left and right sides of the groin with more significant injury on the left side, and a seat belt mark on the right shoulder. The contact received medical assistance. The vehicle was destroyed but the contact was awaiting additional information from the insurance company. The dealer was contacted and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was filed, and the manufacturer persistently inquired about the location of the vehicle. The contact informed the manufacturer that she was recovering from the severe injuries and did not have further information. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

In XXX my engine turned off while I was on the highway. I went to star nissan in [XXX] and they changed the turbo hose. On XXX I got a check engine light. After 3 days the dealership said I needed a new turbocharger and the repair would cost $4100. I was told I was 9000 miles over my warranty. I currently have 69000 miles on my 2023 nissan rogue. According to the incomplete recall, engine bearings and low oil pressure could have caused my turbocharger to fail. The extended 10 year 120k mile warranty is not being honored by star nissan in bayside new york. I am not being told the diagnostics codes. I was told to either pay the $4100 or pick the car up. This engine almost killed me on the highway. Now that the engine fails again i'm being denied the repair. I am being told the turbocharger is not part of the long block, eventhough the recall clearly afects the turbocharged engine. Re: Formal Demand for Repurchase or Replacement Under Utah Law and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act Vehicle: 2023 Nissan Rogue VIN: [XXX] Current Mileage: 104732 To Whom It May Concern: I am the owner of a 2023 Nissan Rogue and am writing to formally demand that Nissan North America, Inc. resolve a serious and ongoing defect affecting my vehicle by repurchasing the vehicle, replacing it with a comparable new vehicle, or otherwise providing an appropriate remedy. The vehicle has experienced a substantial defect involving the continuously variable transmission (CVT). Nissan replaced the original CVT under the manufacturer's warranty at no cost to me. However, immediately following that replacement, the replacement transmission began exhibiting serious defects, including seizing, repeated stalling while driving, and the appearance of electrical fault codes. The vehicle continues to stall unexpectedly, creating an unreasonable safety risk for me, my passengers, and other motorists. A vehicle that loses propulsion while in traffic cannot reasonably be considered safe, reliable, or fit for its intended purpose. Despite Nissan's opportunity to repair this defect, the problems remain unresolved. Replacing one defective transmission with another defective transmission has not corrected the underlying issue. These defects substantially impair the vehicle's use, value, and safety. I have complied with Nissan's warranty requirements by presenting the vehicle to authorized Nissan dealerships for diagnosis and repair. Nissan has been afforded a reasonable opportunity to repair the vehicle but has been unable to provide a permanent remedy. Accordingly, I believe I may be entitled to relief under applicable Utah law governing warranty obligations and defective new motor vehicles, as well as under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, 15 U.S.C. §§ 2301–2312, which provides consumers with remedies when a manufacturer fails to honor its written warranty obligations. Rear Window shatter spontaneously while parked for 6 hours in a secured parking lot. Rear window could have shattered while driving which could easily startle the driver and cause an accident. There is a class action lawsuit regarding this issue with rear windows shattering on their own. "[XXX], et al. v. Nissan North America Inc., et al., Case No.XXX, in the U.S. District Court for the XXX" It was inspected by the rental company I obtained it from Enterprise Rent-A-Car. I paid out of pocket $939.60 Rear Window did not have any cracks prior to it shattering. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11748992July 8, 2026VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ENGINE
I am reporting a serious safety concern involving my 2022 Nissan Rogue equipped with the 1.5L engine. While driving in normal traffic, my vehicle suddenly displayed an "Engine Malfunction" warning with no prior indication of an engine problem. Immediately after the warning appeared, the vehicle rapidly lost power and could no longer maintain the speed of surrounding traffic. I had very limited ability to accelerate or safely maneuver, creating a significant risk of being struck from behind or becoming stranded in an active travel lane. There was no advance warning that a catastrophic engine failure was imminent. The vehicle ultimately became inoperable and was towed to an authorized Nissan dealership. The dealership diagnosed the engine with coolant leaking into the cylinders and determined that replacement of the engine assembly, turbocharger, and catalytic converter was required at an estimated cost exceeding $10,000. My vehicle had previously experienced engine-related concerns and was included in Recall Campaign R25D1. That recall was completed, but less than 30 days later the engine failed catastrophically. Based on this sequence of events, I am concerned that the existing recall may not identify or address all engine conditions that can result in sudden loss of motive power and catastrophic engine failure. I have since learned of numerous publicly reported complaints from other owners describing similar failures involving coolant intrusion, sudden loss of power, and complete engine replacement in 2022 Nissan Rogue vehicles equipped with this engine. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether these engine failures represent a broader safety defect and whether additional corrective action is necessary to protect the driving public.

Problem: CVT transmission failure with code P187E at 73500 miles. Nissan dealer confirmed clean fluid but quoted $9800 for transmission replacement. Vehicle still drives but repeatedly enters failsafe/limp mode, limiting speed and acceleration without warning. This occurred multiple times on the highway, creating a serious safety hazard due to sudden loss of power in trafic. This is a know issue with hundreds of similar complaints filed for 2022 Rogue 1.5 CVT models. The failure pattern is consistent: code P187E, failsafe mode activation, and dealer recommending full CVT replacement even with proper maintenance. Safety concern: Sudden loss of power while driving on highway. Vehicle speed drops unexpectedly from 65+ mph to under 40 mph when failsafe mode engages. This creates high risk of rear-end collision, especially durng merging or in heavy traffic. My family and other drivers are at risk.

While driving under normal highway conditions, my 2023 Nissan Rogue AWD experienced a sudden and severe safety malfunction. All warning and safety indicator lights on the dashboard illuminated simultaneously, followed by a complete shutdown of the digital instrument cluster. The vehicle lost critical display functions at the moment the issue occurred. Shortly afterward, the check engine light remained on. The dealership later diagnosed the vehicle with DTC P0196 – Engine Oil Temperature Sensor and recommended replacement of the Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Control Valve.

The rear hatch window in my 2025 nissan rogue rock creek with 13,500 miles spontaneously exploded out while parked. This could have caused significant injury and or damage to another person or vehicle. The entire rear window shattered. The glass could have cut someone if the vehicle was occupied when it happened. I've had to file a insurance claim which has cost me my deductible. The dealership acted like they had no clue about this being an issue and has not helped in any way to repair or offer options. So now it comes out of my pocket.
