SummarySome 2021-2026 Ford/Lincoln vehicles may exhibit various symptoms including but not limited to the auto start/stop system not operating as intended with a "Check Charging System" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) while the charging system is operating properly with no charging related diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored. This may be due to someone using an aftermarket programmer to change the body control module (BCM) configuration to disable the auto start/stop system or perform other unsupported programming modifications. To correct this condition on F-150 and Bronco vehicles, download and run the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) application titled "BCM-Charging System Configuration Correction". Running this application will determine if the BCM configuration was modified by the customer and if so, provide the option to return the configuration back to factory settings. For other vehicle models exhibiting concerns related to unsupported aftermarket BCM programming, submit a Technical Support Request (TSR) requesting support to revert the BCM configuration

SummarySome 2021-2023 Nautilus vehicles may exhibit inoperative phone as a key and no communication with the remote function actuator (RFA) module. There may also be diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U0214 stored in various modules for loss of communication with the RFA module. To correct the condition, remove the RFA fuse (F19) located in the body control module (BCM). After one minute, reinstall the fuse to re-establish communication with the RFA module. Reprogram the RFA module using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). For claiming, use causal part 14G617 and labor operations 12651D and 12651D4.

If any of these DTCs are detected during diagnostics, clear the DTCs, reprogram the RFA to the latest software level and start a new Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) session. Verify that DTCs are no longer present. If only the B1589:31/49 through B1598:31/49, B1A56:31/49, B1D55:31/49, and/or B15A5:56 DTCs return in the RFA after a self-test, follow normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics in Section 419-01. This noise may occur on initial start-up after a cold soak of 6 hours or more that may last for 2-5 seconds. This may be due to an internal component of the variable cam timing (VCT) unit. Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 > Diagnosis and Testing > Engine > Pinpoint Test F has been updated to include additional steps along with a video to identify the affected VCT unit that requires replacement.
