The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while turned off on several occasions the vehicle failed to charge above 95%. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where a software update was performed. The contact stated that 10 days later the vehicle was taken to a different dealer where it was discovered that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000 (Electrical System). Additionally, the contact stated that the A/C unit failed to operate as intended, the gear shifter was stiff, and the "Electric Charging port Failure" message was displayed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,500.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000 (Electrical System). The contact stated that while stopped at a red light the accelerator was depressed; however, the vehicle lost power for 4-5 seconds. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended and drove very sluggishly afterward. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the high-voltage battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
My 4E is currently under recall for a battery/fire issue so have been relying on gas to fill the vehicle. Recently, after pumping gas for 10-15 seconds it shuts itself off at the pump and often gas spills out from the fuel neck. Jeep has had this problem on many of their vehicles for years and it is not covered warranty. There needs to be a safety recall. Its horrible I cant charge the vehicle and now I cant put gas in it either.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Backup camera not working (intermittent). There are times when the backup camera just gives a black screen. This is a safety issue as we can't then see what person or thing may be behind us. This can cause great damage or injury to ourselves and others. The dealership looked at the issue twice, but could not get it to malfunction, and so had no idea how to repair it.

SERVICE BRAKES, ENGINE
When applying brakes at low speed (under 20mph) pedal feels soft and brakes do not engage as expected- vehicles travels further than anticipated. At times engine races and vehicle surges forward, other times ABS malfunctions, causing tires to squeal and vehicle to lurch. There is no reason for the ABS to engage when traveling under 20mph on an even, dry road. I have had other issues such as overheating, which the dealership observed, but the computer had no trouble codes for, so I would be happy to have it inspected. The vehicle surging forward when brakes are applied is a safety concern, as is unreliable braking and the ABS engaging inappropriately. I have not been to the dealer for this issue yet, I was able to document the occurrence from my dashboard cam this weekend. I have video in my dashcam with the squealing and lurching that I can't upload.

I am being told by Stellantis that the car is unsafe to park in or near structures. I was also told not to charge it b/c that was also unsafe. There is zero timeline for repair and no updates provided. This was a very expensive vehicle that is currently parked 100 yards from my house and completely unusable.

STEERING, SUSPENSION
In the three years I have owned this vehicle I have had the steering damper replaced to correct uncontrollable vibrating of the steering wheel, commonly referred to as the “Death Wobble”. The issue occurs when driving at highway speeds and requires the driver to quickly slow down to stop the “wobble”. There is no warning light or detection, and the issue come on quickly. The dealer has identified the problem with the remedy being replacement of the steering damper. While this does initially fix the symptoms, it does not correct the problem, as I have had three dampers replaced in 24 months. This is obviously only a bandaid and not the correct fix for this dangerous problem. My opinion is that a recall is needed to allow for a proper repair.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I had the most recent incident driving Westbound in the evening hours shortly before Sunset around October 10, 2024. It appears the sunlight from the setting sun triggered my adaptive cruise control and forward collision alert and triggered an alarm sound and activated emergency braking at the same time. I have had two previous incidents like this. One at the exact same location on my commute home at around the same time and maybe a week before. A third occurrence was on an Eastbound morning drive with the rising sun. All three incidents triggered emergency braking from a speed of ca. 65mph. I was able to react fast enough to deactivate the ACC by lightly pushing the brake pedal and could avoid serving or complete stopping of the vehicle. Luckily during all incidents I had no close traffic behind me, otherwise the incidents could have caused a rear end collision.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the contact stated that whenever the vehicle was driven over a small pothole, the vehicle shook abnormally. In addition, the contact stated while driving over a bridge, the vehicle was driven over metal plates where the road and the bridge connected, and the vehicle shook violently. The contact stated that the failure occurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. In addition, the contact stated that due to the failure the contact was concerned about driving the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,907.

Complete loss of dashboard functionality while driving in hybrid mode. Dash suddenly went black, all warning lights started flashing and tachometer and charging gauge dials bouncing. Drove to Suburban Jeep Ann Arbor with problem still occurring. Showed dash display to service representative. Service technician unable to replicate problem. Service representative communicated vehicle is operating as intended and is ready for pick up.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The backup lights are no where near bright enough to safely backup at night. There is no easy way to upgrade the bulbs. This is a well know issue in the Jeep community with Wranglers. There are aftermarket solutions but I shouldn't have to spend 100's of dollars to remedy a design defect.

This message/complaint is regarding NHTSA Recall Number 24V-720 (Manufacturer Recall Number95B). The recall was issued on 9/27/2024 and a remedy is still not available. I specifically bought this Jeep because of the hybrid option. The recall is preventing me from using hybrid mode. Due to the recall, I am also not able to park my car in my garage. My safety is put in risk due to the fact that my car could catch on fire.

Open 95B recall. High voltage battery safety issue, can cause fire. Advised not to charge, not to park indoors, and away from structures. There is no root cause, no parts, no firm timeline and I the manufacturer has been unresponsive. Initial contact was 10/31, and I have not yet received any follow-up from them (though I have contacted them proactively 3+ times). This is a leased vehicle with 13K miles and the dealer is not helpful, the manufacturer is not helpful, and quite frankly this level of concern is unnerving, and escalated in terms of anxiety and fear for what 'could or might happen'. To top it off not only do we have one of these vehicles, but two of them, both impacted.
