After 68C recall fix in January, the following has occurred: -Check engine light on immediately -Replaced electric coolant heater -Sluggish in both hybrid and electric modes -FORM indicators - constant fuel oil refresh mode -Change oil required indicator on -Engine revving high at low speeds -Jumping when putting into drive / idling / shifting issues --Replaced all 4 shocks And just yesterday on 2/27/26: Complete and total loss of power while driving on the highway. Major safety issue and a near crash.

This is a plug in hybrid vehicle. The (ECH) electric coolant heater is prone to failure. This failure can lead to loss of power and might cause the hybrid battery pack to not regulate its temperature leading to a fire. This is a high failure rate with some saying it has failed more than once. Jeep 4xe Fans on Facebook has been doing some tracking of numbers and shows a 50% failure rate with some failing after being replaced. This failure is not being addressed by Jeep.

1. COMPONENT FAILURE & TECHNICAL IMPAIRMENT: The vehicle is experiencing a total failure of its hybrid and internal combustion systems. On Jan 30, 2026, the vehicle received the "68C" battery software update. By Feb 6, the system failed, rendering Electric Mode Unavailable and triggering "Electric Mode unavailable" warnings. This is not a software glitch; it is a failure of the manufacturer's official remedy to conform the vehicle to warranty. Additionally, documented external oil pooling on the engine cover indicates internal pressure/seal failure directly related to the sand-contamination defect in Recall 78C. 2. HIGH SAFETY RISK: My safety is at extreme risk every time I operate this vehicle. • Recall 78C (Engine Fire/Failure): The manufacturer admits a 100% defect rate for my engine block (NHTSA 25V766). The defect involves abrasive sand circulating in the engine, which leads to "catastrophic engine failure" or fire. Stellantis has issued an advisory in multiple jurisdictions because this failure can happen without warning at highway speeds. • Recall 68C (Battery Fire): The high-voltage battery has an internal short-circuit risk. The fact that my EV system failed on Feb 6 proves the internal battery cells are unstable. Driving a vehicle with a known high-voltage fire risk and an unfixable engine defect creates an intolerable safety hazard for me and other motorists. 3. SUBSTANTIAL IMPAIRMENT OF VALUE AND USE: The vehicle’s value has been destroyed. I am paying for a high-performance hybrid that cannot use electricity and an engine that is self-destructing from the inside. Because the manufacturer has no remedy for 78C after 3+ months, the vehicle is fundamentally unrepairable. The safety directives (Park Outside/No Charging) and the physical mechanical failures constitute a total impairment of the vehicle I purchased.

UNDRIVEABLE SINCE RECALL 68C/25V-741 AND HAS BEEN AT THE JEEP DEALER (FRIENDSHIP JEEP CHRYSLER IN FOREST CITY NC) SINCE 1/5/2026 WITH NO GUIDANCE AS TO WHEN TO EXPECT A FIX AND RETURN TO US. BETWEEN CAR PAYMENTS, INSURANCE PAYMENTS, AND ACCELERATED DEPRECIATION WE HAVE LOST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AND WE ARE NOT ABLE TO USE THE VEHICLE.

After taking my Jeep in on January 16th for the 68 C recall I’ve had multiple issues with the jeep hybrid/engine. While driving the Jeep it suddenly becomes unresponsive even when pushing the gas pedal to the floor. After a minute the engine will start up and lurch forward. I’ve almost caused an accident multiple times. This is a huge issue and needs to be addressed. I’ve taken my Jeep back to the dealership and they don’t have any answers to why it keeps doing this. After reading multiple post on line it seems like this is a common issue following the last update.

Car has been at the dealer to be fixed since Dec 21st 2025 with no repair estimate in site. No loaner car given, no communication from the dealer, Jeep corporate said the repair was completed but car is still there with no communication to us. When we call no one answers the phone.

The engine failed and they lied about the reason of failure. I know this because I've changed the oil myself since 5,000 miles. Every 5k the oil and filter was changed, idled for a few minutes and shut down. Followed by a 10 minute timer and a oil level check. The Jeep was around 24900 miles when I did the oil change for that interval. One week later I took it to Jeep as it had an oil leak from one of the valve covers since around 20,000 miles. They stated that they found metal slurry in the oil and they needed to replace my engine under warranty. The said the reason of failure was oil starvation. They lied and I think it's to avoid a massive recall on the 3.6 liter that was in my Jeep.

On 12/06/2025, I purchased a 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe from a Chrysler Jeep dealership in Myrtle Beach, SC. Recall 68C (NHTSA 25V741000) had been published on 11/05/2025 — one month prior to my purchase. The recall involves high voltage battery cells with separator damage that may cause a vehicle fire while parked or driving. A Stop Sale order was active on this VIN at the time of sale. I raised the recall and fire risk during the purchase. The salesperson responded that "a fire could happen in any car" and continued to minimize my wife's specific safety concerns through sustained pressure until we agreed to purchase. No documentation was provided showing the recall had been remedied prior to delivery. The recall remains OPEN as of today. Third-party vehicle history data confirms Stop Sale: YES tied to 68C. We cannot charge the vehicle or use it as intended. We are unable to obtain timely service — the dealership reports months-long wait times with no loaner vehicle available. The vehicle has not been inspected or repaired for this defect. No warning lamps were present at purchase. The vehicle was available for sale and delivered to us despite the active Stop Sale designation. The safety risk is ongoing. We are parked away from structures per NHTSA guidance and have ceased charging the vehicle. This complaint is being filed as part of a formal legal record.

engine hesitation, or loss of power, normally in 3rd or 4th gear under light acceleration Jeep dealer has no interest in trying to correct issue, said it's normal with a standard shift transmission, was in dealership on first service 2-16-26, mileage was app 1225 noticed hesitation immediately upon taking ownership but in speaking with service advisor we decided to wait for first service Any loss of power has me very concerned Please advise! I am writing to formally report a serious issue with my 2023 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe following the second recall repair (Recall 68C) related to the high-voltage battery fire risk. In November 2025, my vehicle underwent the required recall service. The repair was completed at the end of December 2025. However, immediately after the repair, I began experiencing significant performance problems in Electric Mode. Specifically: The vehicle now has severely reduced power output when operating in pure electric mode. Acceleration is noticeably weak and inconsistent compared to its performance prior to the recall repair. The gasoline engine frequently engages even when sufficient battery charge is available and Electric Mode is selected. Before the recall service, the vehicle operated normally in Electric Mode without these issues. The current condition substantially affects drivability, fuel efficiency, and the overall value of the vehicle.

The hybrid system in my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe repeatedly fails, causing the vehicle to lose propulsion, drop out of electric mode, hesitate, and shut off while driving. These failures have occurred in traffic and at highway speeds. The vehicle has experienced multiple safety‑related power‑loss events, including on JR Allen Parkway and I‑185, where the hybrid system failed to transition between electric and gas modes and the vehicle began losing power. Beginning in April 2025, the vehicle generated repeated Jeep Connect alerts stating “Electric charging failed for your vehicle.” These alerts occurred dozens of times over many months, indicating an early hybrid‑system malfunction. The issue is not related to home charging equipment, as the alerts come from the vehicle’s telematics system and the hybrid system later failed while driving. On February 5, 2026, the dealership’s Service Director informed us that the defect was identified, no fix exists, and the vehicle is unsafe to drive. FCA has not provided a remedy. The vehicle cannot be safely operated in electric mode due to hybrid‑system failure, and it cannot be safely operated in gas mode due to engine‑related safety concerns. The vehicle is unsafe in all modes of operation. This defect creates a serious risk of collision due to sudden loss of propulsion, inability to accelerate, and unexpected shutdowns while driving.

Vehicle and purchase details Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe VIN: 1C4RJXR6XRW251767 Purchase date: September 13, 2024 Selling/servicing dealer: AutoNation West Location: Golden, Colorado Key timeline 09/13/2024 – I purchased the vehicle new from AutoNation. By November 2025 – The vehicle had approximately 21,537 miles, still under 24,000 miles. October 2025 – The vehicle was serviced for recall 56C and was out of service for several days. Early November 2025 – Jeep/stellantis announced recall 76C (and also 68C) affecting my VIN, involving significant safety concerns and instructions limiting how the vehicle can be used/charged. At that time, my vehicle had roughly 21,537 miles, well below 24,000 miles. As I understand it, no actual fix was available at that time. Late 2025 into early 2026 – I continued to use the vehicle subject to Stellantis’ restrictions and with the open safety recalls still impacting my ability to use the vehicle normally and its market value. Approximately three weeks before today (around early February 2026) – AutoNation took the vehicle into its shop to perform recall 68C work. The Jeep has now been in the shop for roughly three weeks with no firm completion date. Stellantis is paying for a rental, but it is not comparable to my Jeep. Current status and problems As of February 22, 2026, the Jeep has about 27,900 miles on it. My Jeep is unavailable to me and has been at the dealer for about three weeks; I have no clear estimate for completion or for a final resolution of the safety defects. The combination of unresolved safety recalls (including recall 76C, announced when the vehicle was still under 24,000 miles), limitations on use/charging, and extended time without the vehicle has substantially reduced both my ability to use the vehicle and its trade‑in value. AutoNation has declined to offer a fair trade‑in or a comparable loaner vehicle while repairs drag on.

Ever since the 68c recall update my Jeep has been having a hard time knowing what system it should be using to drive. The electric system shuts off, but the engine doesn’t start up until I press the gas pedal to the floor. I’ve had multiple instances on the freeway where this has happened and almost caused me to wreck. I’m very concerned this is happening.

Driving around a fire hazard Jeep. Jeep offer no rental even if it fails the 68c. Called Jeep dealership times and will not take in Jeep for recall. Jeep needs this recall done asap and offer a rental if need be. Rental reimbursement is a nightmare with stellantis and could be up to 2 month. If jeep wants to get a lawsuit from one day the battery catches fire then rather getting it fixed now then I know they have deep pockets

After stopping at a stop sign and proceeding through an intersection cruising over ac one way street my vehicle lost power in the middle of the intersection. Thankfully the vehicle traveling straight was far enough away and was able to Shan this brakes and stop avoiding a tbone collision. Out of no where the car stopped and started back up but not before almost causing an accident

I am the lessee of a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4-Door 4xe (Mileage: 7,168) affected by open recall 78C (NHTSA 25V-766). The recall notice states my vehicle's engine may be contaminated with sand from the casting process, which can cause catastrophic engine failure, resulting in vehicle fire or unexpected loss of propulsion without warning. The recall was issued November 6, 2025. Today is February 19, 2026—over three months later—and despite contacting FCA/Jeep and my dealer, NO REMEDY OR REPAIR PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. I have been told to wait indefinitely with no estimated fix date. I am making monthly lease payments for a vehicle the manufacturer admits is unsafe to drive. I fear for my safety and my passengers' safety every time I operate this vehicle. The risk of fire or sudden power loss on a highway could be deadly. I request that NHTSA compel FCA US LLC to provide an immediate remedy or repurchase this vehicle so I can exit my lease safely. Consumers should not be forced to pay for and drive vehicles with uncorrected, life-safety defects.

Steering damper has failed with 45,000 miles on vehilce and causing a dangerous shake on the highway affectionately konw as the "death wobble" among jeep owners. This was recalled in eariler models of my vehicle (2018-2021 4XE) but is occruing the same in my 20234XE. This part should have not worn out already and is causing a dangerous situation.

I was driving my car when it powered down and had an unrecoverable loss of propulsion. It's a miracle I didn't crash and kill myself or anyone else on the road. This aligns with NHTSA Recall Number 25V-766. Jeep dealer identified the issue is failed transfer case assembly, then had to replace transfer case motor, then updated the software for the electric battery, but that software update is an ineffective remedy for the recall. I'm afraid to drive car because it might spontaneously catch fire or power down while driving again, which is terrifying because you lose all steering control. My car has been at the Jeep Dealer in Lynnfield, Massachusetts since January 7, 2026. The Jeep dealer said they couldn't buy my Jeep from me because they can't certify it's safety due to open recall. I can't park car in my parking garage or anywhere in Boston per recall notice. Bought Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X 4xe brand new 1/20/24 for $76,500 and have $25,000 of equity/payments in it, but it has a note of $52,500 outstanding and due to recall issues the car is only worth maybe $32,500 but should be worth at least $60,000. I want manufacturer to buy my car back from me because it's under warranty and they can't fix the battery in a way that makes it safe to drive or even park near anything.
