A known issue by jeep affecting many Grand Cherokee PHEV Hybrids, all following the 95 B recall. The recall repair 95 B is attributed to be causing Red Flag Dashboard Warnings to "service hybrid system". Dealer computer scans document these incidents as a "Digital Crash" of the vehicle's onboard computer. Multiple incidents for me have been transitory but for others, these digital crashes are causing engine shut downs on the highway -- see the attachments for 4 such cases downloaded from the Jeep website. Obviously crazy things can happen when a car's computer shuts down while driving -- no one knows if my next Digital Crash could shut down my engine when I am in a multi-car passing situation on a 2 lane highway at 70 MPH and yet that scenario is happening to others. I have seen 3 jeep dealers and have documentation on those digital scans for my vehicle-- Jeep is aware of the problem but they have no-fix. There are over 500 complaints on the public jeep 4xe website across multiple conversation threads of people having this exact problem. You can see from the attachment that the dealers are telling owners that the cars are 'unsafe to drive' because they do recognize that the next digital crash of the computer will be a fatal accident. None of these problems existed before that recall was available in January. Something in that NHTSA 95 B recall for the Grand Cherokee PHEV was defective and is causing these digital crashes -- jeep does not dispute that, at least from what I have been told. Jeep has to be required to do another recall to fix the earlier 95 B recall. It has been close to 6 months now without a fix and nothing is happening. It is probably a software fix, but it needs to be done and at this point it appears that they must be forced to do so by NHTSA. Please see the 4 attachments of what others have encountered. < on your below questions -- Multiple incidents, multiple dates, multiple speeds for me>

Instrument panel switches to Italian, forward collision off light gets stuck on and my seat moved abruptly while I was driving down the road. I have taken my Jeep into the dealership last year for this problem, it was “fixed” but has come back. Noticed the light stuck on last week. Today while I was driving the panel changed to Italian and my seat moved abruptly. Many people on online forums express experiencing the same problem.

This letter is to document a serious safety incident that occurred on [XXX], involving a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. On that date, the subject driver, was driving a [XXX] child to a scheduled pediatric appointment. While stopped at a red light, the vehicle experienced a sudden and complete electrical failure. The engine stalled and all electronics, including the dashboard display and infotainment system, went completely dark. The subject driver found herself trapped in the middle of a busy intersection in St. Petersburg, Florida. Due to the nature of the failure, she was unable to shift the vehicle into neutral or move it to a safe location, as the vehicle’s electronic transmission control was also unresponsive. She was left stranded in this hazardous situation for approximately 45 minutes while awaiting the arrival of police and emergency responders. This incident created a terrifying and highly dangerous scenario—not only for subject driver but also placed the child in danger of heat exhaustion (heat index was over 100 degrees). As a result of this traumatic experience, subject driver has completely lost trust in the vehicle’s safety and refuses to transport the child in the vehicle. We submit this incident as additional evidence of the ongoing and unacceptable safety risks as-sociated with this vehicle. The manufacturer should take swift and decisive action in ad-dressing this matter. Summary Service record of the subject vehicle as of July 23rd, 2025: New vehicle - Consumer owned for less than 6 months, (4) trips to authorized dealership for service, over (30) days out of service at dealership, stalled in traffic at least once placing the a driver and child in harms way, (2) times the vehicle had to be towed to dealership All service issues have been related to an undetermined electrical failure of the vehicle according the the authorized dealership service repair shop. Transmission is failing due to recall. Car won’t go into park or reverse. Problem has been confirmed by dealer. Lights appeared saying unable to go into gear need to park to shift to gears. Which isn’t an option. Car unsafe as it won’t go into park causing potential rollaway and no longer reverse. Unable to shut car off due to not being able to go into park. Recall no answers for, and transmissions aren’t available.

There is a common issue with WK2 Jeeps from 17-22 where the infotainment screen delaminates due to the adhesive that Jeep used and eventually causes the touchscreen to become non-functional.

At approximately 54,000 miles the transmission is not shifting. I parked in a parking spot, go into a store. Then come out and the vehicle will not shift into park or reverse. The check engine light came on for the park by wire issue. These transmissions have been known to have rough shifting and my vehicle has been no exception. It’s shifted rough at low speeds and the eco mode and auto start/stop system have also made it feel less than smooth to drive.

I was driving down the highway to work and all of a sudden my headrest came apart and hit my head. I was able to get pulled over but was stunned with what had just happened. I called a dealership to get the part fixed and they want 750 dollars. I do not have that kind of money and now am driving my jeep with the headrest messed up. I do not know what to do to get this fixed as it is a safety issue as I am driving down the road. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Urgent Safety Concern Regarding Defective Uconnect Radio System Shortly after purchasing my vehicle from Bertera in Westfield, Massachusetts, I began experiencing issues with the radio and related components—namely, erratic or "ghost" activity. I returned the vehicle to the dealership on multiple occasions; however, because the issue failed to replicate while in their possession, they were unable to offer any resolution. The problem persisted intermittently, but escalated significantly during a visit to Logan Airport. While curbside, the vehicle began behaving erratically: the exterior lights flashed, doors locked unexpectedly, heated seats activated, windows became unresponsive, and the vehicle could not be exited—even when approached by a security officer. After powering down and waiting for several minutes (with permission from security, as we exceeded our time limit), the system reset.Despite this dangerous scenario, the dealership again reported they could not reproduce the issue and offered no corrective action. On June 11, in preparation for a trip to Boston, I brought the vehicle to Bedard Brothers in Cheshire, Massachusetts—a certified Jeep dealership. Their technician determined the radio screen was delaminated and causing unintended inputs. They informed me that since my warranty had expired, the repair would cost more than $1,400. On [XXX], during travel to Massachusetts General Hospital, the malfunction occurred again: the heated seats engaged and would not turn off (despite temperatures nearing 90°F), the radio volume spiked uncontrollably, and the prior array of electronic malfunctions returned. Fortunately, I was able to attend the appointment and make it home safely. I have contacted Stellantis, Uconnect, and the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. While Stellantis expressed sympathy, they stated they could not offer assistance. My research has revealed multiple similar complaints from other vehicle owners. Any help greatly appreciated. I got into our car one day and the passenger seat headrest active headrest had deployed. We were not in any type of accident or anything to cause this. After looking online on how to fix it, it seems that it is a common problem based on different group forums and videos. Our car is a 2019 and it seems this is a known issue to the vehicle for the model years prior. We are unable to get it back into place. We will need to replace the headrest which is over $600 and there was no reason it even should have deployed.
