The same as all other Hyundai I’ve seen from 2011 to 2019. Error code reads P1326 manufacturer control. the vehicle shut off on me 65 on the highway without warning. hook up the car to the computer and it has returned no code so we troubleshoot by that the starter was burnt up and we replace it everything‘s fine for two days. Then of course I get the manufacturer code P1326 and find out that 100s are not thousands of Hyundai have been recalled for the same issue. Also, like all other complaints, I’ve seen car went into limp mode or reduced power mode and the check engine light is flashing

I was on a weekend Road trip and my driver's side wheel bearing went out. My car was at 56,000 miles at the time. I was 2 hours away from home and the dealership was closed. I went to a local licensed/certified mechanic who verified it was dangerous to drive with a broken bearing. They then fixed it for me so we could safely arrive at our destination. I was still covered under power train warranty. I was told if I had it inspected by the Dealership and it was verified it was done correctly I would be reimbursed. It was inspected and verified, but they decided they won't reimburse me anyway. They said it wasn't a recall. Yet the bearing is supposed to be good for 85k to 100k miles and it broke at 56k miles.

My car continues to consume oil and it’s always low. There is no leak. I have been told that the engine is constantly consuming the oil. I have taken it to the dealership and they submitted a form but nothing came about it. This is a safety concern for how fast the oil is being consumed

My daughter wrote you earlier this week about the severe oil oil usage of her 2017 Hyundai Sonata. I am writing a follow up because I co-signed for her vehicle when she and her children were deserted by her husband. Since my name is listed first on her vehicle title and bank loan I have a special interest in the problems she is experiencing with her Sonata. She indicated in her filing with your department that she has had her local Hyundai dealership change her oil every four to five thousand miles which is true. The last time the oil was changed by the dealership was around [XXX]. When she spoke to the service department last week she was informed that since the VIN was not listed as being part of a recall there was nothing they could do for her. Yet this past week I put four additional quarts of oil in the engine. She and her children live with her mother and me. I can attest to the fact that there is no smoke from the exhaust when the vehicle is idling which would indicate bad valve guides. Nor is there smoke from the exhaust when the car is being driven on the road which would be caused by bad oil rings on the pistons. There is no oil being dripped on our driveway or garage floor which would indicate gasket or seals leaking, but the car is consuming oil at an alarming rate and we need your assistance with this issue. Thank you for your time. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving on the highway the car began shaking, the check engine light came on. After guiding the car to the shoulder, we turned the car off and back on after a few minutes. The engine was completely stalled when we turned the car back on - multiple dash lights were on (check engine, oil, and battery were the ones I remember); the car would not accelerate, when we attempted to drive slowly the car, in drive, started rolling backwards/downhill and would not accelerate at all; and the engine was still idling shakily. Car was towed to a mechanic who diagnosed an engine misfire requiring engine replacement. Hyundai dealership denied this as a warrantable issue under Extended Warranty TXXI/TXXC/Service Campaign T3G. This vehicle is a well-kept 2017 with only 90k miles and should not have had this type of engine failure except as a result of poor manufacture.

- #11569686February 3, 2024EXTERIOR LIGHTING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL
Instrument cluster lighting is too bright even on lowest setting. Combined with poor side visibility from headlamps it is easy to hit object or pedestrians when turning on unlit areas. Have run over a curb three times and damaged two wheels because they can't be seen from the overly bright instrument lighting at night.

I was driving down the NYS Thruway in mid December and the check engine light started flashing. Before I could reach the next exit (maybe 3 minutes at most) the engine stopped accelerating and I had to make a choice to pull over on the side of the highway before I lost speed altogether. We had it towed back to our mechanic and it was a complete engine failure, without warning.

The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the instrument cluster started showing numerous warning lights. The contact stated that the vehicle was losing motive power. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled and lost power steering and braking functionality. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The Fire Department was called but the vehicle did not catch on fire. The contact had the vehicle towed to the residence. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. Background Info : On November 28th, 2023 I filed a case with Hyundai Consumer Affairs due to smoke and sparks coming from my 2016 HYUNDAI SONATA engine. I was assigned to a Case Coordinator Carla who did not provide her last name at telephone 714-694-4963. She was my contact person for the repair. I signed a tow authorization on November 28th , 2023 authorizing HMA to tow the vehicle to the nearest Hyundai dealership due to some delays in coordination on behalf on my contact Carla and the dealership Pohanka Hyundai received my vehicle on approximately December 4th, 2023. Per correspondence from Carla she had contacted the dealership with no response until the 18th of December 2023; approximately two weeks after the dealership received my vehicle. She informed me that she had made countless attempts to reach a service team member for follow up on an inspection. On December 18th 2023 I got in contact with Joseph to inquire as to what his inspection found. He stated “That he did not see an oil leak and the car hand no oil.” I explained to him that was my car had been recently serviced at Jiffy Lube on August 1st 2023 at 44,664 miles for an oil change. Per Hyundai the oil should be changed every 3,000 to 5000 miles which I had not exceeded as my car had 46863 miles at the initial time of the service inspection that he performed. He then said “Jiffy lube did not put any oil in the car then” which was impossible. I made contact with the Jiffy Lube location who performed the oil change to get the record of my last oil change as Joseph had a differing opinion. I was informed that in fact the oil was changed and they could provide video proof if necessary. I then communicated this information to Joseph as well as provided a copy of the last oil change. I then was told that I needed a CVVT replacement, transmission flush and oil change. I attempted to address his initial diagnose of “no oil in the car” as I had proof that it had been changed and that they should do furthe

The driver's seat lost a bolt and the seat was no longer bolted down at the back, although sitting on it would lower it. I took it to a mechanic and they re-attached the screw and bolt but were unable to do so in a way that the seat operates properly. It still lifts when I get out of the car and lowers when I sit down. This is available for inspection if needed. The safety concern is that in the event of an accident, the seat may detach from the base of the car. The problem has been reproduced by an independent service center. The work was done in Feb 2022. The vehicle hasn't been inspected by any others. There were no warnings or other symptoms before or after the event.
